The dumbest thing the Spurs could do is not taking next year. Wemby is awesome, but you can't compete in the western conference with just one star level player. No matter what they're not going to be competing for a championship in the next 3 or 4 years. Add a talent like Flagg or one of these other high-level prospects in 2025. The new CBA makes it virtually impossible to build a consistent contender without utilizing the draft.
Fr. they've been enduring this for few seasons already, Why rush now? There's plethora of good young players coming on 2025 at 2026. I think they really should tank again atleast one year more. Wemby is a great star, but i don't think adding one more superstar this year will make them a championship team instantly.
Not sure I understand the point about Julius Randle. He has yet to show up in the playoffs, isn’t as good a floor spacer as he gets credit for, and is reportedly asking for a lot of money. There are things the Knicks can do that are worse than trading Randle.
As a Dallas fan, and a Aussie, fuck I love green, but he’s so inconsistent, undersized, isn’t the best shooter or defender But man he’s got heart and hustle and doesn’t stop, I’d hate to lose him, but if we got off him and Tim’s contract we’d free up about 26-28 million. Dallas could use that to bring in another 2 solid shooters and defenders or get one solid guy and bring djj back on a nice little contract coz shit he’s earned it
Can hornets still re sign bridges if we take on bad contracts? We just got rid of Hayward before that was batum. Why we gonna be stuck again after finally breaking out of that habit
Moving on from randle is a great idea, especially if u can get Lauri Markkanen, randle is statistically one of the worst playoff performers of all time and trading him for someone just as good in the regular season but better in the playoffs is monumental
tbh with Spurs I could see them keeping Tre Jones as their starting PG for 1 more year to tank just a little more, or even doing something crazier (or not?) than putting Sochan at the 1, which would be giving that role to Wemby in order to develop his overall game - and his playmaking is already promising. They shouldn't try being good too quickly, they need to amass capital to build a sustainable, long-term team around Wemby, and the best way to do that is to increase the value of your picks, whether to use them or trade them
I think Maxey proved he probably shouldn't have been an All-star last season, during the time he played while Embiid was injured. Think he's a great player, but has good synergy with Embiid, perhaps makes him seem better than he is. Signing another volume wing scorer makes sense for this reason.
Markannen is more efficient & better off ball scorer than Randle. Seems like non controversial upgrade to me. Not that Utah has any interest in trading him, especially for Randle.
Bro ain't a 3. I love obi but if we can sign and trade him for future assets I'm telling him to not let the door hit him on the way out. Especially if obi gets big dollars.
That's illegal trade due to the amounts, and even if it could be legal i don't think Wizards will agree. Anyway for the cap space the Kings need players with unguaranteed contracts that they can cut for free after the trade, or teams with high incomplete roster charge. Probably Kings will need to trade a draft pick for this too, because i don't think teams want Huerter contract (Wizards for example can trade Shamet and Butler/Omoruyi)
Worst thing you could do for the Thunder would be to trade Giddey. His value is the lowest it has ever been. People keep saying his value is low and they can't get much in return and then in the very next breath say they can't afford to resign him. If his value is that low than restricted free agency shouldn't scare the front office. Either he has value or he doesn't but trading him this off-season is a terrible idea unless you get crazy value for him. Otherwise you go into next season and try and recover that value and trade at the deadline or resign for a good contract.
Let Klay walk. Negative on/off with Steph last year in 1500 minutes +9.5 with Curry on court & Klay off. No reason to keep three bad contracts on your books. Trade Wiggins & paul. See about getting Paul George even if you have to sweeten the deal with a sign and trade. Wouldn't want to pay more than 15 mil for Klay.
I don't thunk the Knicks trading for Markkanen is a lateral move., really. In terms of production, its not an upgrade because despite all the criticism, Randle is a very production player. But Lauri is 4 years younger and cost 12 million less
Honestly, trading for a player as good as Randle, that fits the team better isn’t a lateral move at all. This time is more than likely a conference finals team without the crazy injuries they sustained just in the playoffs alone, add one more piece who’s a great compliment to Brunson, and they are serious finals threats.
It's what I hate about Knicks fans they're such hypocrites. Hart was on a bad contract, clearing cap for Brunson was awful, Randle is a bum and it goes on and on
can we stop putting ayton in the “trade vets for picks” ayton is only 25 and was playing the best basketball of his career second half of the szn, he could very well be portlands franchise big.. brogdon must be moved an grant too if not by the trade deadline same with Rob williams
He'd be worth a couple bad rotational players and a second, the Sons would do much better trying to hit on a decent PG late in the first round and then forcing Allen or Beal to play off the bench
wait Matt, you said for the Cavs not to trade Garland but you also said for the Spurs to trade for Garland(or Trae). so which one should it be? 😂 also the Knicks priority should be trading Julius Randle. I honestly think the Knicks could trade Randle for Markkanen, or they could look to sign and trade with Paul George because they need a second shot creator next to Brunson. I also think that the Knicks could trade Bogdanovic and one of their firsts this year for Brogdon, that way there is another playmaker off the bench next season
@@Sros1 i definitely understand that, however if the Spurs are gonna be trading for Garland, I think the Cavs would have to negotiate for more because Garland's market is kinda low right now and the Spurs would be looking to get him on a cheaper trade
76ers GM Daryl Morey is looking for another star. So if its not PG13, they will get another max player. Bad move. Daryl Morey is too dam predicatable and only looks at stats. He's always big fish hunting so we all know he is going to overpay 1 aging superstar to come to the team. Unfortunately, this is def happening.
I dont understand why all of you wanna be basketball analyst wanna trade trae they dont need to trade him he still young he stoll have atleast 8 years in him they need to draft sarr and build around trae and sarr thats it
Sorry but I have to disagree with the Randle take. If the Knicks trade Randle for a 3&D forward that can sapace out the floor and give space for Brunson, OG and really the rest of the team to shine, it will be better than a Julius Randle that, dont get me wrong, he is an amazing scorer, but he lacks a lot on defense and in 3pt% which were crucial in the Knicks' best games this season. I would trade Randle for Markkanen or Mikal Bridges and some good role players for the bench. Those pieces would complete the Knicks and make them Finals/Conference finals contenders, since they would have a squad that defends really well and can sapace out the floor, like the Celtics. It doesn't feel really good, but it is, in my opinion, the correct move. The Knicks have proven this season that they don't need Randle but rather need good rotation options that can shoot 3's and defend.
matt take a look at my draft class, thats all I ask, i PROMISE it is the best in 2k. Over 100 players in this draft with faces and tendencies. DOUGHNUTDOUG
