We appreciate the review and honest feedback. We only made 50 for the first production run to figure out what worked well and what needed to change based on performance and initial customer feedback. Based on this feedback we will be making the following modifications: -resolving the display issue and upgrading the display -improving front fender -shorter crank arms for more comfortable pedaling. -changing grips and throttle We will continue to listen and make the necessary changes as needed.
I love that you're responding to reviews. Would it be possible to move the tail light in a little bit so you can use the back as a handle? It really helps with the bike I have now, getting it in and out of my apartment. Also, a walk feature helps alot with me going up a small staircase I have to get it outside. Im only recommending because it sounds like you want to make the right changes and I can't say that for most companies. This will most likely be the next bike I buy. Good job!
Nice . I see a couple other testers or reviews mentioned some of those things also .Hate to say but even if it's going to be $200 more down the road for some refinement, I would still be onboard. Nice job!
@GhostCatBikes, here's my thoughts: - As a shorter rider with a 30" inseam I like the bike's size and seat height as currently configured. That's just my vote on seat height and frame size. - As a superbike owner (Ducati 998, Yamaha R1) I prefer the motorcycle feel, including a handlebar that mimics my billet bars. And I really like the grips on this bike, especially the full-size throttle that mimics the grips on my motorcycles. And I know I may be in the minority, but I love the composition of your grips, hard rubber and metal. Those thumb or quarter-grip throttles, fuhgeddaboudit. - I like a display that's well laid out, color (so I can quickly see by color what's going on, and differentiate the icons and numerals), hi-res (I wear glasses, so I need crisp/sharp graphics). Also like a display that gives me full-access menus, to allow me to do anything and everything I want to do to the controller. - As others said, yes, we need a bike to at least be configured for installation of a second battery. Side note: IMO that's where e-bikes are headed in 2024-25. A retailer is going to lose prospective customers if the bike doesn't at least have space for a second battery, preferably available from the bike's seller. A second battery is important because we Americans are a spoiled lot. On e-bikes we are max-speed throttle-only riders. I predict people will eventually not buy bikes that provide a paltry 25 miles of throttle-only max speed riding. Indeed, I predict prospective purchasers will always opt to pay more money to get that second battery, direct from the Company who is selling the bike. My prediction may be proving accurate considering that there's more and more dual battery bikes debuting, and on the older models (older = 2022/2023 🙂) like the Revv1 for example, the Company is offering for purchase a battery cage, battery, cradle, balancer, and wiring needed. Lastly, I have seen some companies advertise that a rider can get good range if s/he sets the bike on PAS 3 and avoids throttle-only riding. Like I said above, that's not practical because the American e-bike rider isn't wired that way; e.g., the first thing they do with a new e-bike is enter the controller menu and set everything to the max, then we get on the road and "floor it."
I tried my bike a few days ago and I can relate to this review, but I will say that I like the grips, and yeah it is really powerful, the motor breaks, just a nice bike. The only thing I will love in this bike is more cargo space, I have two chainlocks on the bike (for the bike and my helmet) and the bag is just to small (Im using it for other stuff. But overall, nice bike for the money. Already waiting for your second video man.
Why don't these companies make bigger bikes for bigger American guys? I'm 6 '1" 240 lbs , I've got four of these type of bikes they're not tiny but they're not huge either, I think these type of Manufacturers should make these at least 24 inch wheels in the future, beautiful bike. Personally I like the BMX bars on my bikes, it gets a little bit tough on the neck bent down like that but hey I'm older😂😂, they need to upgrade the display I had one of those on my $500 folding bike, for that money they can get something a little better
And yet, at 5' 4" (and owner of ten e-bikes from Ariel to Juiced to Talaria), none of these bikes really fit me either...not to the point of ever having both feet touch the ground at the stop light. Will this be "the one"? Big agreement on BMX -style bars: More appropriate than flat bars that force you into a cafe-style racer position as opposed to more upright, but that's just me not wanting to be tossed over the bars if some a-hole pulls out in front of me at near-40mph.
Ironically, I say the exact same thing with one exception: “Why don’t they make bikes for shorter guys?” At almost 5’ 7”, only a step thru will let me put both feet on the ground. These motorcycle-style bikes are a tad too tall for me. So I guess we’re both in the same boat. Folks 5’ 9” to 6’ 0” seem to be the lucky ones - understandably as that’s the average height (for men) in the U.S.
Fantastic video, you looked like you was having alot of fun. I put a 60 volt battery on mine with a 100amp controller & a 6000 wt motor, great bike for upgrades. Looking forward to your next video ❤
Nice looking bike and Ilove the name. Great review MrCD. I might consider this one for my 15 mile one way commute to work. I have lots of sections that are 55 mph so I want a faster bike with decent range.
I'd like to see that tail light moved in so you can use the back as a handle. It helps with me getting my bike in and out of my apartment. Also, since I discovered my bike has a walk feature, it's alot easier getting it outside. Rather than having to lift a 90lb bike up a staircase. With the walk mode, it's effortless. Every other negative I have, the company already stated they're working on a fix. This will most likely be my next purchase
Good video as usual! That bike is definitely going on my list of awesome ebikes to recommend under $2-grand... The only reason I wouldn't buy it is because I am 6'1"/235lbs and there is no place for larger/extra batteries. Going at decent speeds, that battery will drain with me on it in like 12-16 miles. They should at least make a rear rack for it.
After watching I have been looking at them and I think this is the one. I am 63 and need to exercise a bit. But really I ride a 21 Harley TriGlide since my wife wanted to ride on the back. This will keep me from buying another 2Wheel Harley and ride the trike with the Mrs and have the E-bike to play with. If I have to spend a lil more that’s ok I just want the fastest one I can get.
Damn. Too bad it’s so small. No way I’m going to fit onto it at 6’ 2 I wish more of these companies would make multiple frame sizes the way established bikes companies do.
On that rear tail light, they should just incorporate a metal bar around that to be used to protect that light as well as a handhold. Wouldn't be too difficult to incorporate that into the design.
Well, it isn't a big issue and it's not that hard to update it to where that light wouldn't get broken and complaint about that display not working on the bike.
It looks like a handle and ergonomically it’s likely way better to grip straight on from the back as opposed to gripping it from the side. Not a problem if you’re big and strong enough or never need to lift tge tail of the bike but that’s not realistic, people do those things… way better to redesign it that average customers constantly breaking it… and probably not fixing it
Only problem is the twenty amp hour battery. Twenty miles. All these companies keep doing that for Some reason. At least make it twenty five , so you can pull 30
This thing looks pretty wild, if you live someplace with a lot of hills the Grizzlies still probably the way to be, but this is probably the next best thing for 13 ish less. Hopefully we will see this go head to head against the Goat sometime soon.
Which would you recommend between c3strom, ghostcat and revv1? Which have the better suspension or is the most comfortable and let’s say they both had the same surron suspension, which have the better suspension geometry?
ghostcat has the best overall feel in being numble. the c3strom has the best suspension but ghostcat is right behind it. revv1 is comfortable but not as good as the other 2. thats not to say the revv1 is bad though
Hey, little suggestion if you allow me. Your videos are rhe best and I appreciate your opinion on all different aspects. You reviewed the C3Strom Deluxe, and got impressed with the comfort. This one is also super comfy, in your opinion. Then you did Ride1Up Revv 1, Lyric Graffiti X, and Raev Bullet GTX. Can you do a score so we know which is better in different aspects? Like torque is easy to tell by the weight and nominal value, but Comfort? 1 to 10, maybe? Cheers 🎉
Do you feel like you’re leaning forward on this bike? The seat is pretty slanted. Considering this bike or the G100! I’m short, 5’4”, and want to go fast but not hunch forward and be uncomfortable.
Never been on the Billy goat ebike. Billy goat should be a much faster ebike with 60v but much heavier. Not as comfortable as this ghostcat bike either.
I don't get why the Company on this nice a bike would install what looks to be a junk no-frills 2019ish display. (Two displays failed on this bike reviewed by TailHappyTV, yours make three of this display that have failed.) In any event, I'm seriously considering getting this bike, especially after seeing all the complaints and problems on the Revv1 and Ariel Rider bikes. Main concern I have on those bikes, LOTS of complaints about the companies not honoring their warranty, ignoring communications, and basically not standing behind their products. So now I'm back to square one, looking at "candidates" to be my 8th e-bike purchase since 2019. My main requirement, no complaints about poor customer service. Regarding this bike, I MIGHT not be concerned about those three cheap junky displays failing (and what that could portend) in light of the fact that the Company is online here and elsewhere interacting with prospective customers. I can't recall anyone else recently doing that (back in 2018 Rad Power Bikes was on RU-vid representing the brand on all the popular e-bike channels). In the end I might chalk up those displays as human error that occurs in the press of business; i.e., in the rush to get the demo bikes distributed those displays were the only ones available.
this display had voltage So i know that was a big reason why they went with this one and I could be wrong but depending on the controller you install on these bikes, Your limited on which displays to use. They are aware of the display issue and fixing it for all the new orders made.
The display is a reliable display the reason we went with this display is because you can see very easy during the day and has critical information in the main screen voltage and current, which is difficult to find on some displays. The issue with the display and speedometer was not the display it was a sensor communicating with the display. Regardless it’s not acceptable we will resolve this issue and look to upgrade the display. Other modifications will be done ASAP: eliminate, any throttle delay, shorter crank arms, improve front fender and new grips/throttle similar to a Surron. We only made 50 bikes in the first batch and focused on critical components battery, controller, motor, suspension and brakes now we need to go back and clean up the little stuff based on feedback.
Do these company's reach out too you to review these bikes or do you reach out too them or a little bit of both ? I'm really interested in the Goat bikes & wondering if you may be reviewing one in future. The Ghost cat seems to have some great potential with some minor tweaks made by the company .Great video as always
We are listening to customer feedback and we will make all the necessary corrections fix display issue/upgrade, new grips/ throttle, shorter crank arms, improve front fender, fix kickstand and eliminate any throttle delay.
You gotta have a following of people. either tiktok or youtube or somehow get yourself out there to the work and put the work in. companies will come to you if they like what they see and you have an audience that they can share the product to
For the positive : you seem to get plus $2000 worth of e-bike for $2000 . Speed and Power is great , looks good . Good value for what you are getting . Negative : what ever is going on with the display , and the battery pack . The US states are starting to crack down hard on battery packs needing UL certification as it is a huge safety issue because of potential fires and possible super cheap low end Cells . For the battery alone i would not purchase . Get that certification which tells me it is safe and not junk cheap cells , fix the display issue and the e-bike will be a home run for the money. 203mm rotors and 4 piston brakes on a $2000 e-bike is a (Huge) plus . To me absolutely necessary for stopping power at that speed . I could not see what size chainring and freewheel . Chainring should go up to 52tooth minimum and freewheel down to 11 tooth or you will ghost pedal to much , although with a really low seat pedaling will be difficult anyways . I am a fan of fenders to keep wet roads from kicking up water or mud all over me and the fenders here seem sorta useless . Serious potential for sure . Just not quite there yet .
I wonder if maybe these do well, then perhaps a beefed up front suspension , 60v 25 ah battery, 50amp controller version would be in the works for next year? Just a thought.
That’s why I asked you. I need to get educated on them. I watch many vids. I like the V3 and you like it better than the cat. I heard the cat will come up on you. But I am not worried about that. I just want it stable and able to go 40+
Good reviews... I'm looking into buying a bike soon... What would you say is the best overall best bang for your buck Bike? Something that can do street and off-road.
Check out E-Cell’s 5 Star. Same Base Price. Better Features, Better Warrantee, You Can Add Other Features to The Bike. E-Cell does Not Charge Shipping, Insurance, or Tax.
Quick question for whoever can answer it. I "heard" that if you mess with the wheel diameter in the display it will "break" the controller or motor or just mess your bike up. Is this true on certain bikes or can you do this trick with any ebike with no problems?
@@mmavcanuck That's not what I heard. I heard you change the wheel diameter in the display will tell the controller it's a bigger wheel or vice-versa so it spins faster. And I've seen it on RU-vid. I was just wondering if it would break my bike.
I was going to order it but decided to pass because of some issues that i can see , i really like that it does 40mph though 😊. If i could upgrade the display definitely would buy it.
We are currently working on resolving the display issue and evaluating upgrade options. We are listing to customer feedback and will make the necessary adjustments.
The guy says: “this is SOOO worth the money.” That may be true but a statement like that from someone who didn’t pay a dime for the bike is SOOO annoying. Is there one reviewer out here with an ounce of integrity? And a speck of professionalism too? Just curious.
You are more than welcome to be the change you want to see in the world. Unfortunately you won't be able to leave these sorts of comments anymore, if you're aiming for professionalism.
