Thanks for your video! The KAWASAKI FR600V is a lot like this. Except that on a SCAG Liberty Z the rear 'bumper' plate is in the way of sliding the carb on/off the studs. Had to remove the intake manifold, turn it sideways, then slide the carb off. Otherwise, same procedure. Easy.

Man Ive need doing this exact crab and engine set up. And I've been trying to figure out why it won't stop surging. I was about to start digging deeper until I watched this video. I noticed you didn't put the gasket between the filter elbow and the carb. So I removed the gasket and put the elbow back on and it worked perfectly!! Thanks man.

I just bought the upgrade air filter kit from power equipment man it's the canister style found on the kawasaki fx series engines the factory style air filter on the fr series engines and like the engine your working on mower medic 1 just get dirty to quick I live in the country which has dusty conditions so I wanted better protection for my engine the upgrade filter kit from power equipment man was $230 to my door which is alot cheaper than a new engine. I just serviced the carb on my church's Toro Titan zero-turn mower. Your 100% right, it is cake to install and service. The only thing I don't like is the air filter location, it hold grass and dust, but it's easy to change out.

I wish it was that easy on my LX176 and LX178. I don't want to talk about some of my commercial equipment. LOL Great video Jeremy!!

Hey Mower Medic1. Big difference on OEM Carburetor to aftermarket one that even includes extras. I always go OEM on larger equipment and engines. Especially landscaping businesses equipment. Very rare a aftermarket works correctly right off the start without having to fiddle with it. Excellent video

That looked like one of the easiest ever to work on. I agree with the other commenter that Kawa must have let a service tech design it while the engineer was out. I don't really have any easy ones; All the ones I work on are about the same hassle.

Hope you didn't forget to move the clamp for the crankcase breather hose back to it's home🤔 I find Honda/Chonda GX style engines are some of the easiest to work on, whereas most chainsaws are a P.I.T.A and are often the most time consuming🤣👍🇦🇺

I didn’t have to do it on my S240, but I had to remove the muffler heat shield on my neighbor’s X320 the other day to get the carburetor off because the fuel solenoid would not clear it. Only six 10mm sheet metal screws but aggravating no less.

There is some sort of factory 1/4” spacer at the back of the OME carburetor it does not come on aftermarket. I bought an aftermarket with great reviews on Amazon for the X300, but no go.

I know this is an old video but what's your take on putting one of those Donaldson canister filters on an FR series engine? Kawasaki used to sell these kits back in the day and they would include new jets for your carburetor, there are aftermarket parts sellers that are selling the canister air filter kit saying that you no longer need the Jets. What's your experience with tuning a carb or longevity of a fr691 for example with a canister air filter kit? I'm thinking that the canister air filter while it offers better filtration it is slightly more restrictive and may be beneficial so that it'll run slightly rich but I have no way to prove this, just a hunch. Either way the canister filter is miles better than the stock FR air filter, even with that silly dust cover.

Hi question. I own a 2018 JD X350. It has a Kawasaki 18.5 engine. It won’t start. I have good spark in both cylinders. When I try to start it I can smell gas. I pulled the spark plugs out and both cylinders and they were soaked with gas. I also took the hood off and I noticed that I have gas shooting out of the bottom of the muffler when I try to start it. It has a FS600v carburetor on it. Could the carburetor be causing it not to start and gas to be coming out of the bottom of the muffler? Any advice would be a great help. Thanks

Where'd you get that carb?

I was surprised @ 1:30 that there wasn't a gasket between the air horn and the carb. Maybe there's an o-ring for a seal? Also at 6:44, did you move the spring clamp back into position after you got the idle speed set? Kind of looked like it would have been in the way of the idle screw head if in its original position. : ) Another great video, MM1 : )

Did you use oem or aftermarket carb? I've used aftermarket on yard tool small engines to varying degrees of success.

Hi Mow Med I have a craftsman riding lawnmower with no spark model num CV16S. Changed the coil but still no spark took the flywheel off and the magnets were on the stator so I glued them back on the flywheel but still no spark. And also it was hard to start so I tried to gap the valves but it doesn’t have the nut get them adjusted any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
