Old fogey Winters probably gave the best advice on how to progress through army lists. Make your list simple and bring as many copies of the same things you can. Have an overall theme of what you like, maybe it's tanks, bikes, infantry, walkers, fliers, elites or whatever. If you like tanks, bring 3x3 of them. If you like bikes, bring three squads of bikes. If you like troops then bring six maxed out squads of them. As an example, an underrated list of one of the worst marine units in 9th was to bring 6x5 units of reivers (3x10 combat squad'ed). That's 60 high mobility wounds that pop in from anywhere and swamps your opponent hard. The advantages to simple lists are: 1. It's versatile. You can deploy it in many ways and you aren't dependent on some super unit that you need to protect or bring in at the right time. 2. When nothing is crucial to your list, your army stays just as dangerous no matter what he takes out. 3. It's probably heavy on wounds which is a problem for your opponent to deal with. 4. A simple list means it's easy to play and you'll learn more from it than copying a tournament list that you don't understand how it works. 5. You'll quickly see where you're lacking and how you'd like to bolster your list going forwards. This is kind of the opposite of a skew list, it's much more of a generalist list but it's not a push-over. You won't win 50/50 but the games will be a lot closer and your decisions will be easier to make compared to how your opponents will have to 'solve the board'.

Blowing your opponent off the board is fine in tournaments. But when people do this in friendly games it gets boring to play very fast. And if done to new players can permanently put them off the game. This 100% works but when it creeps into friendly games saps the fun out of the room

This is actually a problem i have at our local table. i started playing the game last year with a 1000 point list of guard and i consistently win my games, except against a couple of tyranid players, one that skewed his list to a meele killing frenzy and the other that skewed it to a shooting frenzy and as guard i dont know how to aproach the problem when in one trun i get swamped by genestealers or my leman get shot out of the table by hive guards.

For my Guard, I lean way heavy on tanks. I have enough Guardsmen to take objectives and even some minor arty, but I tend to bring the armored fist to the table. 5 Russ Chassis and a Dorn. Just ram them.

Back when scout snipera could all use snipers i would take 10 of them in separate 5man squads. People were shocked when characters would just start droping due to the concentrate fire.

An Armored Company has been my dream list since I started playing in 5th edition, so I finally committed, and my 10th Edition army has been exclusively Tank Company since the edition drop. 2k works out to a Techpriest, a Tank Commander, 6 Russes, 1 Rogal Dorn, and 1 Shadowsword. My experience so far is completely in line with what you described in the video and am on a 12 game win streak. Nearly every tank just charges forward with reckless abandon, holds the middle, and just sits there until the game over or my opponent is dead.

Im a new player. I've been playing Eldar for 6 months and now starting guards and i immediately noticed that IGs are much more difficult to play

Astra Militarum Combat Patrol has been a rough past months Always scoring at first with secondaries, Using the Artilery Strike as clever as posible. But i was tabled every time in Turn 3 or 4.

This video makes great points that I mostly agree with. The focus was on “killy” skew lists, but how does everyone feel about skew lists that aggressively focus on scoring points regardless of what the enemy is doing?

im trying to build a list of notes for each unit that contains all the various bonus's it may get from itself and other potential sources. got so much synergy in a lot of these lists i know im just going to forget half of it lol

Anyone have tips for fighting against grey knights lol? I find that my tanks get targeted and they simply dont survive the baby carrier smacks. Once the tanks are gone im not sure what i can do lol.

I focus on OC, wounds, and saves. Can’t kill what you can’t kill. Can’t score what’s being scored by the enemy.

Im playing almsot pure durabilety right now and loving it since so meny goes full damage and a few action units. My damage is basicly 3 demolishers. I'm around 60% winrate right now (In tournaments). Got a 100 man GT coming up in a few weeks so we'll se how it goes. Aiming for 3-2 but hoping for a 4-1.

Reporting for Duty , Sir o7 If you are a non-tournament player , Don't run askew list ...... you will quickly become the un-fun player better known as "That Guy " ( or a Tau player OR , 10th edition Aeldari , early edition 9th Admech , or 9th edition Harlequin / Dark Aeldari ) Playesr that take an OP broken army to "seal beat" other players quickly gets ostracized from gaming groups .... aka That Guy Tournament Players ❓❔ askew list ...... To win , there is no reason not to You paid your money so you take your chances If "the band wagon" Herd is running a style or Army , finding the askew list to beat them is most of the fun ... ( for me )

Have you play against salamander bullshit assault detachement ? I honestly ragequit against that bullshit when you lost full pv tank to flamer , and then again in overwatch just to try to play the game What you talk about pure violence , is what i see all the time at the club, and its what always win . Back to heresy, you can be stupid with overgun too , but there is more counter or real strategy to make , to balance that

Can you do a video on how to beat Imperial Knights? I can't kill them or save myself from being tabled. I've been utterly slaughtered twice now by the same guy. My opponent just picks fixed objectives for Assassinate and Bring it Down, kills all of my tanks (2 demolishers/1 demolisher tank commander/1 exterminator) by turn 2, farms my respawning sentinel trio for VP, and walks into my home objective to kill the Lord Solar.

Deploys 360 nids of only 3 flavors… ok we got this guys. Are you a terma, stand on back. Are you a neuro, go screen. Are you a horma, go behind the screen.

Mordian, rules commentary page 11 states reserve are only counted as destroyed if still in reserve at the end of the battle Any Reserves units that have not been set up on the battlefield by the end of the battle count as destroyed. Also deep strike has no mention of turn 3 any more. Also the LEVIATHAN TOURNAMENT COMPANION makes no mention of it, 10th removed that.
