This song came out when Men were real men. Most men, not all have lost souls. Roles have reversed. We as women don't have to settle. Wait for that right one !!! I love this song. Forever!!!
They sound so good, amost had this 67 year old man weeping, just missing the 70's with real fun , real caring music and real solid black men and women..
This music was designed to last untill the end of time. It was done by people who had love for life and wanted to make a contribution that will create a world which overflows with love, peace and happiness. To some noticeable success they manage to bring people if different perspective and thinking together in the universal space of humanity. Even today many of us are still celebrating their contribution and their intention. Forever their music will continue giving different generations something to talk about and something to listen to.
My sister Bridgett was born in 1958...she bought it on a 45...we had the latest hits and albums all the time. Fell in love with this song and many more back in the day.
I can listen to this over and over. Never gets old. Al Green “God blessed our love” ( Soultrain) and Ebony’s brings tears of joy when I see those performances- will be married 42 years to my bride. On September 1, 2019. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 -Duke 🇺🇸🇿🇦
I remember this song ! Wow ! They sound just like the record. I was around 11 years old and my older siblings would play this song over and over ! So I began to like it , I didn't know what they were talking about though. Loved hearing it again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Love it. First time hearing this song. Was born in 1971 and my fiancé just sent to me. We grew up together as kids and lost touch as teenagers when I migrated. God brought us back together recently after over 32 years. Love is for real. God is faithful. 💕💕
Parties in the basement with the blue light, young ladies looking good. Nervous about asking that crush for a dance afraid she'll say no. Great memories💖💖 I was in love 💖
I had never heard this song until I heard the Tennessee State University "Aristocrat Of Marching Bands" practicing outside my dorm room in '73. I thought it was beautiful! It was a short time later that I found out it was The Ebonys song.. Had to go get that record! Still one of my all time favorites.
We must cherish this music for the longest time. I only listen to old school music. So much love and meaning in the words. You better sing! Y’all still sound so gooooooood!!!!? God bless 🤗❤️❤️❤️
This group, this song will be around, FOREVER! Lead singer William "Smoke" Howard and I go back to our group the Fabulous Nu-Tones at Tennessee State University in the 60's. I hug out with these special singers and they are awesome individuals as well as talented. Blessings!! Stanley D. Stewart --RU-vid
Oh My GOD!!!!! I love this song!!! Sang a rendition at a Greek show decades ago and TORE IT UP! The Ebonys still sound utterly AMAZING! I didn't know the group was still around. Thank you for this video! Much Love!!
I'm so bless to be able to see this group perform one of my all times soul tunes in 2021. This tune used to tear up those parties back in 70's in Jamaica.
I dont know which one that you are doubting will make it, but, they are good friends of mine. They are all doing awesome! Im sure they will appreciate your concern though. ☺ Have a blessed day!
Share it with your friends to teach what real music sounds like. And thus group is not the only one with beautiful harmonies and lyrics. This is about real love- it’s eternal...”FOREVER”
This was Real music! Real music never goes out of date. Every time you hear it, it moves you or reminds you of someone or something. It's 2023 & the lyrics resonate with us today as it did when the song 1st came out(BEFORE I WAS BORN😂)!
Definitely a great sound! I'm glad a younger generation is learning about the giants of R&B, Huff & Gamble etc. from the various tribute bands on the scene. But for historical accuracy this group is not comprised of any of the original Ebonys (Jenny Holmes, David Beasley, James Tuten and David Beasley). The Ebonys disbanded in 1977. David Beasley reformed the Ebonys in 1996/97 but retired himself in 2001. Tuten died in 1993 and Jenny Holmes only sings primarily in church settings. William Smoke Howard definitely has the chops to give this version of The Ebonys a major boost. Continued success Ebonys.
I am so happy I found this. I have listened to the Ebonys since forever. I love this song. Thank you so much for sharing this. Wow! I need to listen to it again...
