I think I got 2 hours of sleep last night. I'm not in Edmonton, I wasn't partying or anything, I just woke up at 5 AM still wired from last night. This has been an incredible ride. Nobody on earth has ever seen how McDavid will play when a win will get the Stanley Cup put directly in his hands after the whistle, and I'm not sure any of us are prepared. I came late to hockey and I'm so glad I started watching when I did. (AIso, I'd like to thank whoever figured out that they should zoom in on Bill Zito whenever anything happens that's bad for the Panthers. They deserve a raise.)

Everyone thought it was over after game 3 and that was reasonable. Coming back from 3-0 in a SCF, in the modern era, doesn't happen. Wow it doesn't get better then this!! When we where down 3 0 all the life was sucked out. No one gave us a chance i didn't either. But when I heard mcdavid say we've had our back against the wall lots and we are a confident group. I thought wow he isn't giving up. Man we are 1 win away from the cup!! If we do it it will be one of the best days of my life. I remember in the 1980s how Edmonton was but I was just a baby. In 2007 it was crazy but we got lucky that year. Now this year we deserve this! I'm not a fan of either team, but as a hockey fan, I'd love to see the oilers pull this off. Nothing against the panthers, I'd be happy for them if they win, but i want to be able to witness history. No Forward played more than Nuge's 19:15 and it dropped off fairly quickly from there. Leon played 16:40, I mean Broberg played more than Leon, so did Kulak. Ryan did great in the dot for us (and someone wanted to trade him out for an iffy Kane, look in the mirror and slap yourself). Stats wise this one was loads of fun. Same # of shots. Florida out hit Edmonton by over a 2-1 ratio (43 to 21). Faceoff wins were close (Florida 27, Edmonton 30). Both PK's at 100%. After that it gets interesting. Edmonton had slightly more giveaways (13 to Florida's 11) but over triple the # of takeaways (18 for Edmonton to 5 for Florida). Edmonton blocked double the # of shots (22 to 11). It's these last 2 base stats that really tell the game for me. If you're stripping or pick pocketing pucks and blocking double what your opponent is with the same # of shots on net odds are pretty good you'll win. It's ONE GAME. Now they just need ONE MORE. That one, it's the one that matters the most. Edmonton can throw a party and Edmonton SUPPORTS their teams. When restaurants that have lounges are using the restaurants as overflow seating as the lounges are packed, take a wild guess how bouncing it was. I'm thrilled for the places that earned a lot of money during these events. They'll be packed again Monday. Merch is selling off the shelves faster than it can be gotten or stocked. The entire city seems to be into it and I'm grateful that I live in a city that cares. Win (hopefully) or Lose the boys know the city is with them. I’ll be honest, when we were down 0-3 I was hoping for at least the Game #4 win at home! I’m pretty sure most of us were thinking that! Watching the last three games has been so great, watching them play the way they can! Put up the goals and shut them down at the same time! I love where we are right now and we can definitely finish this magical playoff run with THE STANLEY CUP!

I realize it's 82 games plus the playoffs and these players are creatures of habit. That being said, watching the game FL is predictable when in the O zone wanting to just cycle the puck. Watch EDM throughout the game, they just anticipate the cycle game, aka take the step to the boards before the puck goes there. FL, IMO needs to change this and take it to the net or just put shots towards Skinner. I would also like to see different dump in's. Sometimes put the shot/dump in towards Skinner. Try to get O zone face offs or a mistake by Skinner. Again the predictability of FL on the the dump raps have the Oilers D men below the dots ready for that. Lastly, I would like to see the PP go to a 3rd/4th line mentality aka outwork the PK and keep it simple. No fancy plays and have a shooting mentality. All in game 7. FL won 3 games, no reason a 4th cant be won
