I love how Bethesda ended this trailer just like the very first Skyrim trailer. It shows the dragon's soul being absorbed, but instead of the main character, it's Miraak. Pure genius.
Hermaeus Mora - Here in Apocrypha just got this brand new Dragonborn, great for fighting things and operating in the mortal realm. But do you know what I like more than my Dragonborn? KNOWLEDGE
*Worst. My game broke because of this DLC. I got trapped inside the book-world, and the game refused to let me leave, despite the giant eyeball guy telling me I could just leave by reading the book again (it didn't work). I had to start a whole new game.
Every time I tried to leave with the book, it overwrote an autosave instead of letting me leave. So I HAD no older saves anymore. Todd Howard raped my save file.
If you listen closely, the specific lyrics they chose to take from the original game theme, which originally referred to you and Alduin, could be interpreted to pertain to Miraak as well. (Translated from Dovahzul/Dragon language): "Who was kin to both wyrm, and the races of man, with a power to rival the sun..." (during intro) "But a day, will arise, when the dark dragon's lies, will be silenced forever, and then..." (during big dramatic action portion of the trailer) "Hearken now, sons of snow, to an age long ago, and the tale boldly told of the one!" (during the title reveal after we see Miraak) So all in all, we have a description of a powerful Dragonborn, but not a good one, a dark dragon who lies (could be referring to how he controls his unwilling worshippers), and at the end of the trailer they talk of an age long ago and the tale of "the one" (the first Dragonborn). It's the little, subtle details. Bethesda sure knows how to put those in.
It's obvious, but I love how every trailer ends with a pan up to a dragonborn. The original is The Dragonborn we play as. Dawnguard, the eyes of our dragonborn are blood red, shrouded in darkness. In Dragonborn you are expecting to see the player again. Instead, you see Miraak, absorbing a dragon soul. Expectations subverted, shivers activated, cheers cried. The perfect way to end the trailer.
Miraak seeks to return by inspiring fear in mankind and corrupting their minds with insanity, forcing them to form cults worshiping him. He is trapped in another realm, but seeks to return and rise again. He has the body of a man, the face of an octopus, and the soul of a dragon. Miraak = Cthulhu.
CraftKing Gaming He was already a lost cause from the start. See hermause mora can see the future and he asks you to kill Miraak. So Mirrak is doomed from the start. So I dont think they did.
CraftKing Gaming He wanted to return to Nirn and if he does he would be unstoppable against solstiem. Mora wanted to kill him because his visions were to full of power and glory. He also wasnt as aware of Mora's commands and ignored some of it so it made him a problem agains everyone even mora. Though Im not a skyrim writer or Wikipedia so i dont know if this is exactly his intentions. Better to research than listen to me.
You got to admit...the idea of surprising the players (and the main hero we think we are roleplaying) with the notion that"YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL...NOT AT ALL." was quite brilliant, and it adds way much depth to this game...
Any Oblivion player knows that they were a lot of Dragonborn before the Dovahkiin, even a Greybeard states that he probably isn't the only one, just the only one who showed himself.
Kyvant what he meant was that TLD was not the only Dragonborn during his era. He's not preffering to the previous ones. You just want to feel superior for playing Oblivion eh? FOH
I was down on my luck. I went through a divorce, I went to my best friends funeral whom I have known for 30 years, and I lost my job and was starting another job. A friend of mine suggested Skyrim for my xbox 360. I bought the game a week after it came out. Let's just say Skyrim saved me. My mind was so overwhelmed with grief. Going on adventures and exploring dungeons, fighting different creatures. This game kept my mind occupied. Skyrim will always have a special place in my heart. I'm looking forward to elder scrolls 6 .Thanks for reading and l lift this mug of mead in honor of you fellow gamer.🏹🛡⚔🍻
It sure beats the main quest.. The battle with alduin was basically the same as fighting any other dragon but with more hp/damage and meteors doing showering on me... Wish the alduin boss fight had more to it
Don't get me wrong, the main quest is far from bad. It just feels like there could have been more. The dragonborn main questline was way more challenging, and was more satisfying to complete
This DLC was AWESOME! I loved every part of it. Well maybe not that fact you can't really control the dragon you are riding, would be super cool to travel all Skyrim like on a horse. But I loved the the unique new area Solsthaim and everything in it :). I wish Heartfire and Dawnguard would have new areas as well..
I always loved that last shot of all the Dragon corpses leading up to Miraak just standing there glowing with the power of their souls absorbed into him.
Not really that big of an accomplishment. I absorbed two at once one time and thats because of a well placed fire shout when two dragons landed next to eachother after me putting them both down to a certain amount of health. The real accomplishment was that he killed 3 dragons at once.
Dirge the Undying Me too. Its so dark and disgusting (especially the parts where you need to cross a bridge and theres green liquid around you and theres tentacles coming out, dang, I hate the tentacles).
Yeah apocrypha was really well designed and Dragonborn DLC was great in general. Thanks for thinking about the long lasting Skyrim fans like us Bethesda!
Superb DLC. I defeated him on my new character at only level 16. Crazy. Only had a few shouts. Only did one quest in skyrim before heading to solstheim
First time I tried to fly a dragon outside the main quest, the thing flew around in a circle breathing fire, and then flew straight up! It didn't stop until my character suddenly died! Couldn't care less though, the DLC is amazing!
Annnd yep, still haven't touched either of these DLC's even though I had them on the older versions.... maybe this time on the PS4 version special edition I will actually experience it.
It was actually planned to give u the option to do that and the both of u would fight fight mora, but thet removed it at the last second for some reason
Really entertaining DLC . But can not forbid become and draw similarities to the Knights of the Nine DLC . There are of course differences. But both nemesis character who has fallen into the search Pride of selfish recklessness . Later fall nemesis for his arrogance and punished for their sins. Nemesis end up in a residence to be resurrected to seek revenge . Then comes the protagonist and antagonist in a retaliatory battle and so on. Everything is a little too black and white. But at the same time it is wonderful.
I don't think this game should be rated 18. hell in my country in nz it's rated R (restricted) for people 13 and over. But hey, it was released 3 years ago...
I had notice shyt was weird. Some had 'reply' under their name.. some didnt and other features or changes that just made me go "Huh". It did feel kinda "broken" :\
I have personally played this game myself and would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys free roam gaming. The graphics and game play they have integrated into one game is amazing. The storyline is also great and really interesting. Elder scrolls online also allows you to play with your friends something that has just improved skyrim making it one of the best games on the market to date !!
He was once one of them, the Dragon Priest. He ruled here in their name, ruled over Solstheim. But he did not serve the Dragons, he devoured them. And like them, he seeks to return. You didn't think that you were the only one? He was the first.... Dragonborn!
Dragonborn, although the main quest is short it adds an entire new location outside of Skyrim, new enemies, weapons, armor and powers. There are also a lot interesting side quests, whereas Dawnguard's main quest is longer but there are few new locations, enemies or weapons compared to Dragonborn, and also fewer side quests added as well.
Yeah i'm sure of it. They trademarked the name "Redguard" (a.k.a. people from Hammerfell) just as they did with the past 3 DLC names. on the forums whenever people ask about new DLC they respond: (paraphrasing ofcourse) "we will announce any future content on our official twitter and blog". I'm so hyped for the next DLC!
Skyrim pick-up lines: "Hey girl you wanna join the Throat of the World club?" "Hey baby i gotta two-handed greatsword back at breezehome, think you can wield it?"
Yeah, but he is different kinda evil. Like fighting fire with fire. Instead of submitting to the slavery of the dragons, He decided to devour their souls. If that isn't METAL AF, then i don't know what is. Lol
Best DLC I ever plunked down money for. Completely changes the game. Deeper, richer, better...like it needed it. Does make a Rolls out of a Cadillac though.
I could name a few, but they would literally be from other bethesda titles. Lol Shivering Isles is personally, mu favorite. I don't think they have matched its creativity since, but Dragonborn is definitely good. I hope their next Elder Scrolls installment reaches even new heights of awesomeness.
Yeah there's maybe two more coming. One on Redguard is next (supposedly), I personally hope the last one is on the Dwarves seen as their mystery plays a massive part in the games side-quests.
