I love the writing in halo 2. Like it’s an awesome way of saying that the lives of his elites will always matter more than the will of the prophets. Which eventually leads to him becoming a leader in the rebellion once he realizes the elites are being betrayed
I remember playing through that years ago, after having been about 5 years without playing Halo and still being creeped out about Floodgate Dear God, if it wasn't for petty pride, I guess I'd have given up on the game at that very moment
Agreed, I got a crap load more respect for his character when he did that. Because he was thinking of the greater good over a single measly scrawny dude that was acting too cowardly for the title of "Prophet".
An ODST style game that takes place during the Flood invasion of High Charity with the city of High Charity explorable like Mombasa in ODST and you play as an Elite.
@@wastelandlegocheem Yes most likely a ranger but I would love to to have multiple missions where you play as different ranking elites. Like of course, ODST had with the missions where you play as Buck, Dutch, etc. It would be really cool to have a mission where you play with a squad of honor guards and it starts off with fighting against Brutes but then the flood invades.

Halo 2 has an enormous amount of cut content. It bungie had the time to properly finish halo 2...I have no doubts that it would be the best halo to date.

I have tremendous respect for Rtas. He fought through an infected ship, losing comrades along the way, had the audacity to assault a Prophet- not one of the Prophet Trio, but a high-ranking Covenant member regardless- and had to kill one of his closest friends with his own energy blade, before escaping as the only survivor. That is just so seriously messed up.
One of my favorite characters! I first played Halo 2 when I was 6 or so, and because the Shipmaster never had his name or title explicitly stated until Halo 3, I started calling him 'Golden Rod.' To this day, I have no idea why I called him that (maybe the gold accents on his armor?), but the name stuck.

Apart from naming Rtas "Half-Jaw" 'Vadum without the -ee suffix for time period reasons, you did well in describing things here. Also, the Minister sure deserved that thrashing to the floor, especially with future events later on in mind.
Wait, I'm a little confused... how did the flood get on the infinite succor? I mean, from halo ce we understand that the covenant released the flood by accident on the ring, so this must take place immediately after that... But the flood wasnt that intelligent yet! And why didn't the covenant know what it was?
I'm more willing to believe that this takes place in CE rather than Wars because it's stated that this was around the time the Arbiter was attacking the remains of the Pillar of Autumn's crew. But the spirit theory is kinda far-fetched when you realize Chief came out of the facility into a different part of the swamp. Still could've been a flood piloted spirit, but still.

As a kid I loved this character. I thought he was such a bro with Arbiter despite their initial Halo 2 conversation. I never knew his name I just called him the “mandible guy”
What I want most in Halo Infintite. A reference of HiddenXperia somewhere. Maybe an operation ONI has codenamed "HiddenXperia". Operation is the search and gathering of Intel about the most secret covenant, forerunner, and flood events and secrets by a special task units of Spartans that obey ONI specifically. Could mention the Operation somewhere in a ship audiolog/lost spartan log or writing on some computer screen if paid attention to in the game. Like if you want this to be a reference that will become ICONIC
I always got the vibe that he was a coward when I played Halo 2 back in the day, because whenever things got tough he'd always be conveniently in a ship or he'd hold the door while I go in further. You get the idea lol.
The fact he picket a prophet up out of his chair and fuckin threw him on the ground is incredible. And here I was thinking I couldn't respect our boy more.
This legend needs to come back to the games NOW! A certified badass who has more than earned respect on both human and alien fronts and fought and even back sassed the flood on Succor before sending the ship into the sun with significant damage done to him physically and to an extent maybe mentally too after what the horror of the Flood subjected him to. He even ranks as worthy of having his own game in all honesty!!
