Halo Lore - How Does Covenant CELEBRATE Killing Spartans? 

They were rewarded by not having to guard grunt mating chambers.

I would have liked to see a Covenant elite saying face to face with Locke: “You might be a spartan, but you are no demon”

In Halo C.E sometimes if you die near a grunt it will say “It dies!?”

I always thought Spartans were called “Demons” because they were the greatest obstacle between the Covenant and their “Great Journey”.

There are definitely plenty of Jackal Snipers that were celebrated for this.

Did anyone realize in Halo Reach, you encounter a lot of Zealots? It's like they were hunting Noble team to their last. The only one in Noble who managed to get away was Jun. The one who put up a real fight was of course Noble Six.

What i found interesting though, is that when a ODST is slain by the covenant, it does not feel as rewarding to them. On a heroic play through I recall a Grunt saying "Eh. Imp not as strong as Demon."

Unless I'm mistaken you kill Kat's killer, if you look; it's the unnamed Field Marshal you see a couple of times throughout the game.

Based on my experiences...Grunts mostly mock or insult you. "You like that, demon? You like that?" "Lift up its visor! Let's see if it man, or laaady."

Doesn't Mjolnir have a failsafe to prevent capture? I vaguely remember in Fall of Reach or Halsey's Journal that Mjolnir is programmed to overload the reactor in the event of capture, or trying to get into it without the proper tools.

8:30 you murder him in the last mission of Halo reach when you go to the railgun. He was the elite that could change his weapons between a fuel rod cannon and a sword. He was the field marshall that carter let escape in Winter contingency.

Actually whenever the covenant kills "Demons" Especially master chief, they go back to reach and party at club Errera. That's why the left it standing when they glassed new alexandria.

Fun fact, the Covenant tried to reverse engineer the spartan armors to make their own, but were unsuccessful.

i feel as if spartan 4's are much more kill-able than the 2's and 3's a good example of this being fireteam castle their pelican was shot down and the survivors were gunned down by a squad of elites and grunts

The elite that killed Kat is the same Elite that led a strike team of zealots in the cutscene early in the game. That elite rank is a field marshal (the highest elite rank in the game). That elite is responsible for killing off the noble team (except for June). On the last mission you and Emile fight and kill That field marshal and his squad of zealots

Maybe it was Thel who killed Kat. I’ve also heard a theory that Thel was also the elite who stood next to 6’s helmet and ignited his sword while the Ultra and Zealot finished him off (supposedly it was Thel bc that particular elite was left handed and a large fanbase seems to consider him left handed? Idk). I personally don’t think it was Thel, given his position as a shipmaster during the fall of Reach. He wouldn’t have had any business flying around in a Phantom with a needle rifle while multiple CCS battlecruisers were glassing New Alexandria. If anywhere during reach he would have likely been on board a CAS assault carrier in orbit not taking part in the fight until the covenant began glassing the entire planet. It makes sense considering how large the covenant fleet was that showed up after the Long Night of Solace was destroyed (around 750 ships if this is consistent with Lord Hood’s statement from the beginning of Halo 2). Bottom line, it was probably just some random elite field marshal that we’ll never know about.

Honestly kats death makes no sense in reach you can take several shots from a needler rifle to the head and wouldn't die how ever it took one shot one that's it if some one would please re enact this than that would be helpful

If you look closely, it actually appears to be the elite field Marshall who shot Kat. Which means it was probably the same field Marshall Noble Six fights during the game’s final mission.

Okay, but how did humanity celebrate killing an Arbiter? Or any high ranking covenant in that matter.

I bet the dude who killed Kat had one of those celebrations where he’s proud of himself yet subtlety realizes he put no effort in it. Kinda like how you would feel if you got an A on something you cheated.

I mean, he's not so important to the lore that he cant die, but he is still so loved, that it will create lots of motivation for the players! This is a great way to make a new game, but I don't want it to happen.

I think that most kinds of reward would be given, now we might also need to highlight that if an unggoy killed a demon their sanghelie commander would most likely say it his kill, rather then allow the shame of being outpreformed by a meager grunt, the brutes most likely fought over the armor as seen in H2 brutes will wear whatever even if its made for a diff species, i also think that, god forbid, the covies got their hands on a spartans corpse they might do that "parade your entrails" thing, your pretty spot on, we cant be sure just what would happen so essentially we kinda gotta assume anything goes, i also remember that a few of halos books highlighted the missions of "demon slayers" though not directly called that, they were tasked with hunting down and killing high profile spartans, most notably, the elite who hunted chief through the events of H:CE/the flood, however once he sprung his trap at the elevator on the pillar of autum as chief was trying to make his escape from halo, chief simply blew him away with a spnkr missile and a few frags, the elite however welcomed his first steps on the great journey.
