Halo 3 was my first Halo, I had a... bare bones... idea of the story. But as soon as the exchange with the Arbiter happens, the "Were it so easy", I knew I was gonna love the Sangheili. But when you get into them as a species in their own you see just how proud and powerful a race they were even before the Covenant. Like, here's a good one, the energy sword is shaped for Sangheili hands, but that isn't a custom item made by the Covenant for the Sangheili; it actually used to be a wooden ceremonial sparring sword back on Sangheilios used in duels for power where it would be the two Sangheili in bare clothes using only one sword each and hand to hand combat to either disarm or force one party to capitulate. That is why the design is as such, protecting the hand from direct strike while the gap between the two prongs (which has a narrowing above the hand gap to stop the incoming blade if you look closely) can catch the blade and allow you to twist the opponents blade as a tactic to disarm them. This would also go towards the choice of Thel'Vadams group being called the Swords of Sangheilios. The Covenant just militarised the design through the magnetic field contained plasma system, and then it is given to high ranking elites as a sign of status.

When I was a kid, I always thought the Elites were just dinosaur people. 😂😂😅

Correction on the writ of union that I feel got ret con’d because a lot of people get it wrong. The shangheli do get smacked by the dreadnaught but use their forruner tech to match the prophets and make a huge stalemate that would force the species to make a treaty

The fact that the sangheli favored the humans bravery and questioned their leaders didnt spark the great skism

Good video, but one gripe. Tier 3 includes usable slipspace technology. Tier 2 is refined slipspace. The UNSC is tier 3 at the beginning of the war, and are just starting to break into tier 2 by the end

Ok. Sangheili are more than just sentient. They are sapient like us. Sentient is anything that can percieve and feel things. Your dog is sentient. Sapients can graps and understand abstractions like symbols and structured language. You use sentient a lot in this vids and it'd be nice if it were more accurately used.

ive noticed a somewhat contradiction. in the begining you said they have a war poem for their family that details their families triumphs in battle. then you go on to say that the children dont know their fathers and get by on their own merits, and not their merits of their fathers. so do they know their families histories or not?

Why the fuck would I fist fight a elite that's as strong as a Spartan no I'm an idiot

Yea well, most of the time they oneshot Spartans in CQC (wich lorewise is wrong, their nowhere near powerfull enogh to combat Spartan II's headon, even the Arbiter falls short by several orders of magnitute, thou GAMEPLAY and BALLANCE!). If you want a proper, realistic halo experience, play on easy because chief could stem more than a ton, so imagine what a punch of him would do to you. That said , the duel showed us what they are and how they live. Samurai at heart, so basicaly ONE SPARTAN BEING JAPANESE would END the entire war INSTANTLY, turning the Elites instantly in basicaly telling them "yo, we had the same problem with cristianity on earth, some wrong prophets told us shit and some belived that, ending in bloddy war's. But we are the same Honorwise" (thats also why in the package chief lost that easily against an elite in sword combat, their basicaly samurai, a mere NORMAL human cant hope to win at swordplay against them) The only problem would be that they basicaly HAD A HALO RIGHT OVER THEIR PLANET, althou if one "oracle" can change one of the best of them to beliving "it weapon, it no religion" Then a Samurai, given enogh time, could come to an understanding and thus peace.

I like the fact the respect humans because we never give up even when facing overwhelming odds.
