Had no idea Halo Cannon shouted you out, i just found your channel yesterday after looking up some halo lore, good stuff man, and I went to subscribe and saw only like 100 subs? I was shocked but your channel is seriously great. One thing though, i think the bg music is a bit too loud
I concur. I noticed the volume issue a bit too late. It's difficult to judge from my speakers for whatever reason. Hope you enjoy your stay, I may not upload for a little while longer just so you are aware.
@@ReligiousFervor take your time! Quality is worth the wait. Just sucks that ive found you so early in your career and I can't binge watch your videos haha
Great video. My favorite Elite design would be the Halo Wars 1 ones because they look the most menacing fallowed by the Blur Elites. The Halo 4-5 Elites look like weird squid men but one thing I like is that they have the teeth of an omnivore. You should do a video on the different Brutes and how they differ. I hope that in Halo Infinite they act like they did in 2 how they would immediately rush the player rather than just standing there like in Halo 3/ODST where they were basically bootleg Elites.
The (first) legends phenotype is definitely my favourite. Simply because of the spikes at the front of their mandibles, it would be so cool to see those.
Next video is done. UPDATE 3/22/2020: Get ready. pbs.twimg.com/media/ETr2VmDXYAI8ZcQ?format=png&name=4096x4096 UPDATE 3/20/2020: I've recently made the switch from using Sony Vegas Pro as my editing software to Adobe Premiere Pro. This was done not only because of the greater potential afforded by Premiere's capabilities, but also because Vegas had a severe lagging issue when my projects became too large. This lag has been a major detriment in the editing process and is one of the primary reasons it has been taking so long. Although it will take some time for me to adapt to this new software, it will be more beneficial in the long run. UPDATE 3/10/2020: My university will quite possibly be shutting for the semester due to the coronavirus. In the event of such a precaution, my classes would continue online. It is unclear how this might affect my time to work on the video. UPDATE 1/21/2020: I haven't had much time to edit, and now my college semester is starting, so I will have even less time. However, I will continue to work whenever I get the chance. UPDATE 1/4/2020: The script, filming, and voice recording are all now complete. Thus, the editing phase shall begin. Prepare. UPDATE 12/15/2019: I am somewhat ashamed to say that with Halo: Reach's release on The MCC and the college semester reaching it's end, I have not had much time to produce my next video. Just know that I am indeed still working on it and please do tolerate my stagnation. UPDATE 11/4/2019: The script is finished, I am now starting the filming, which may take just as long. Please be patient with me. I strive for the utmost quality. Also, it's come to my attention that the Origins I phenotype was also featured as a sketch in "Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds." Here is a link to the sketch: pbs.twimg.com/media/EHZlebVUwAAau7h?format=jpg&name=4096x4096
H2A's and Reach's rendition of the Sangheili are my favorite depictions in the series, so I'm quite happy with the choice. However, it seems the blend is more between H2A's phenotype and Reach's armor rather than a mix of the two phenotypes, correct?
Stay tuned, I am working diligently on my next upload. I greatly appreciate the support in the interim. Feel free to share with all who might be intrigued!
Always boiled it down to just different art styles for each game but it's really cool to see different variations being cannon. Would like to see the different subspecies fighting along side each other in game though so people just don't think it's a change in art style. Halo 4 and 5 elites are my favorite, they've got a really aggressive look to them that I always like to see in enemies.
Perhaps one day, we will witness several phenotypes in the same game. However, the resources that would be afforded to this are currently deemed unworthy.
I have a theory about the Reclaimer saga's elites, the reason why they are chunky and have incredibly thick legs is because they were somewhat adapted to swimming, modern reptillians that swim usually have thicker hind legs and a big body for buoyancy.
Or they evolved as an apex predator in their Region of the planet simultaneously with other apex predator, meaning they had to be bigger and Bulkier, While the "Bungie" elites lived as more prey like animals Similar to humans until they became Sentient/Intelligent.
Maybe it is not a bad idea to speficy somewhare this is a lore channel? It'l help with heaving the right expectations (I am not an expert on marketing mind you) Mabey an idea for later, but you could make in indeapth review about the biology of each Covanant members. The Sangheili see in something called Infabrown
@@ReligiousFervor Something I will correct on this is the 343 phenotype don't have star shaped pupils. They have slits as well, only the arbiter has the star pupils
@@appalachianmenace69420 I beg to differ. Whilst the Halo 4 era of the 343 phenotype do seem to exhibit a circular pupil, all of the Sangheili from Halo 5 have 4-pointed star-shaped pupils. @@ReligiousFervor I wouldn't say replace . I think the Blur phenotype is meant to be the 1-3 phenotype but thanks to the amazing work of Blur we can finally see them in their fully and realistic glory .
I would argue that most of these are simply different artists take on the same concept, with a slight exception to the H4/H5 model, as I recall it being attributed to a sect of Sangheili colonists long separated from the main body of the species. Correct me if I'm wrong. But as for the rest, they exist in their own bubbles, always relevant to the single media they appear in. To call them phenotype's is misleading, because that implies we would see a mixture of them in scenes from high charity in the crowds, or other large gatherings. Instead, in whatever medium they are in, they are just that ONE style, defining the species as a whole. They are never portrayed as subspecies, only as the artist depicts them on their canvas. Can't say I wasn't disappointed, the title inclined me to believe this might be more than a showcase of different interpretations
They began as different artistic interpretations, of course. However, phenotype is not a misleading application as that is what the differing appearances have been attributed to in official sources of lore on multiple occasions. I can provide my sources if you'd like, however I believe I've already done that for several comments similar to yours on this very video. We do not see the phenotypes side-by-side because that would mean taking the time to create more models for the same game, which is not something prioritized in game development due its complicated, rigorous, and time-sensitive process. As for your "disappointment", I'm not exactly sure what more you expected from a video on this topic. I go over the biological nuances of each depiction and where they appear in various Halo mediums. We do not have much information on the phenotypes beyond what we can see. I've done my research. There is a reason this is my most popular upload.
@@ReligiousFervor I would be interested in seeing those sources, I have gone through the comments, couldn't spot anything , sorry. Regarding the restrictions on game development and using multiple variations of the same model in one instance etc I am aware. Digital artist here, my forte is 3D modelling, but thanks for covering bases. TBH I'm not sure what I was expecting, just not what I saw. Perhaps a lore focused discussion on the evolution of said phenotype's in universe? Also, out of curiosity, was there a reason you didn't look at the H3 version? It was the first model to display distinct toes rather than the hoof of H1/H2 and is still distinct from others.
@@759Wolf It would seem those who I provided the sources with have deleted their comments, my apologies. My sources were attached to links that no longer exist on the old Halo Waypoint Website, but fortunately I took screenshots of them before they were deleted. Those screenshots are provided at this link: imgur.com/gallery/qBEQkC2 It is simply my personal belief that the BLUR phenotype is intended to replace the 1-3 depictions.
