These are all of the 1978-1982 The Empire Strikes Back toy commercials in scene order (though missing a couple of Palitoy commercials, nuts). Have fun.
Woah!...that Kenner action figure music with the open bass chord, always on during Hercules and Pink Panther and friends at 7am with a big Bowl of Capt.Crunch-Berry beast 7am before the school bus...great memories!
My guess is whoever made this commercial either never saw the movie or this was before the movie was even previewed. Shame this Wampa was around before Poke Balls were invented so I could catch it.
Thanks Eric ! You absolutely made my day !!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is 44 years for the release of Star Wars & 38 for Return of the Jedi ! We just past 41 in May 21st for Empire !
These toys are classics, but they also illustrate perfectly why Star Wars fans are never happy with any Star Wars movie. They played with these .toys and created their own stories, and what they saw on 5e movie screen could never match up. And they’ve been throwing whiny temper tantrums ever since. Isn’t that weird? SW “fans”who hate every SW movie save one. Oh, well. These were really cool toys. I had most of these as a kid. The AT-AT was really cool.
And so han and luke walked away on their tauntauns into the sunset. And that was the end. And the empire never showed. And all was it should be. -The End. It almost seems like one of these kids or teenagers look like me, because in the 70s and 80s kids had long hair like i do now.
Cool! I have one currently with it's stomach open ability. It came with Hoth Han with his original blaster. I got that for my 19th Birthday. $25.00+tax.
wow. I missed out on these because in the late 80s/early 90s, you could only find them at goodwills or garage sales. People wanted way too much for them too. I got to look at them though lol. also lol at the kid's chewbacca impression. I saw that hoth set at a goodwill once in the 90s I had stormtroopers and few characters though. Ever vader I would find ended up chewed up by one of my dogs lol. Wow that AT-AT is crazy life size for figures. woa.
I always wonder why there was no play sets for Bespin. They had a lot of toys for Hoth, one toy for Dagobah. The only toy for Bespin was twin pod cloud car. Bespin world from the micro world collection does not count.
There was one Cloud City playset with the carbon freeze chamber, but it was a Sears exclusive. I had an aunt who worked for Sears so she got it for me. It didn't last long, though, because it was basically just folded cardboard.
I think it was only for the commercials, possibly because the company who filmed these for Kenner never saw the movie or were never told how a Wampa actually acts.
I wonder if these kids would still want the toys if they found out Luke grows up to be a useless old goat who lives alone on an island then dies for no reason.
I remember about 3 months ago, my mom pulled out a box in the attic, and it was labeled "STAR WARS" and so my mom opened it, and found some of her action figures. The figures were, Boba fett that's rocket can shoot out, Darth Vader, Luke skywalker, Han Solo, Ponda Boba, and hammerhead. She gave them to me afterwards
EmperorDucky Man, stop faking. The rocket firing boba fett never made it to stores so the only way your mom could have it is if she worked in Kenner which would be very rare considering that only 80 models where made.
The collector And there’s only like 80 in existence. When I was a kid I had 4 Boba Fetts. I kept mailing in for it hoping to get one. I guess someone had one on pawn stars. You can get it too if you’re stupid enough to drop 150k on a toy
