The 2nd film of the original trilogy gets mashed in the style of the 2nd film of the new trilogy. This is 1980s Star Wars Ep. V: Ep. VII style! #StarWars #TheLastJedi #EmpireStrikesBack
Interesting theory, but I bet Leia is Ben's daughter. That's why he was her only hope. Besides, how else do you explain them not making a Kenobi spin off yet?
Alex hell yah! I want to watch it tonight - I got hyped again! Lol sadly I don’t get hyped rewatching TFA trailers though. It makes me want to watch ANH 🙄😂😄
Would have been 1000x better if they included this quote: Luke, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will complete your training... Would have mirrored that last scene of TLJ trailer... Well see if that scene of the trailer mirrors the ending of empire strikes back....
Hey guys, so sorry about the long hiatus! I have been SWAMPED with work! Just to let you all know, the Ep. III review should be up sometime this month. Also, apologies if the audio levels are uneven with this mash; the music in this one wasn't available anywhere so all the original dialogue had to be removed with Audition. And after doing as much polishing as I could, it still sounded off in places. Apologies! If you wanna keep up to date, be sure to follow me on Facebook/Twitter :)
The Unusual Suspect Just want you to know the high ground thing makes sense. Jedi were trained to always take the high ground so they would have an advantage over the enemy.
ExtraRareTrumpSteak It ruins the reveal of Yoda. When you first see (Yoda) on Dagobah there is no indication it is him. (Yoda) appears to be some mischievous imp just being a nuisance until he reveals himself. After seeing Yoda in the trailer you will immediately recognise him the moment you first see him. Snoke was never shown in the TFA trailer for the same reason.
I agree. Also it gave a little to much of the vader-luke confrontation if you ask me. Did not spoil the classic scene but it shows us some images that I would hold back for the movie screening just like the scene Kylo seems to be conflicted in his ship. Not giving away anything cause the Leia aspect is probably misdirect, but still its a powerfull image I would hold back
The only similarity I found too much was definitely the inclusion of Starkiller Base. Other than the similar plot structure doesn't bother me. Also while the plot structure was similar, the characters, their arcs and interactions with each other is very different. Finally, as similar as it may get, at least it's a heck of a lot of fun. I saw the film twice in theaters and both times I had a blast. I'm expecting the same kind of similarity with The Last Jedi, with the AT-ATs, separated characters (the group on a mission and Rey training) and all, but what's actually going on beneath the surface with all the character arcs, themes and hopefully the great twists will be amazing and way different.
Watching this trailer felt eerily similar to what I imagine my own internal, rapid-fire brain analysis might look like when I'm trying to decide whether or not I really want to watch a movie again that I've already sat through a hundred times or more during the course of my life... ...only stretched out across the span of a full two and a half minutes in order to experience the entirety of the process as if each individual clip had been independently salvaged and separated from the others and all were then laid out in linear form and were being viewed in their original, real-time presentation. The resulting final decision in this case was, of course, a raucous and unanimous "HECK YES!!" from all participating synapses. Great job!!
Oh wow, you brought out the happy excitement I had as a child when it was first released. Bravo! If I could turn back time to watch a movie fresh with the same wonder again. ESB would def be on the list.
Callum Pears sorry i meant to say his comment. He said that the music levels were uneven because the music wasnt available anywhere else so all the original dialogue had to be removed by the audition so that is why it sounds a little off in some places.
It quite literally is the same film, but slightly different. Luke Trains with Yoda -> Rey Trains with Luke. And she doesnt complete the training. Hoth Invasion -> Sullust Invasion. Space Battle -> Space Battle. And so on. (theres more but dont wanna clutteR)
Yoda was reluctant to train Luke, whereas Luke seems legitimately frightened at the prospect of training Rey. The Hoth invasion I'll give you, but the space battle looks much different. There was no quote on quote real space battle in Empire. It was the Falcon running from the Empire whereas it actually looks like a full on battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Not to mention, you are basing this off of two trailers, one of which was a teaser. Watch the Attack of the Clones trailers, they had heaps of Empire parallels but the movie was nothing like Empire.
I was expecting to hear "Come with me, it is the only way" at the very end, in answer of Kylo offering Rey his hand like Vader did to Luke, but, this still rocks!!
Haha. This was so incredibly well done. It made me feel like I was excited to see this movie and wondered what happens. Even though I've obviously seen this movie dozens of times. It was done in a way that made it seem like it was a new movie. Good job.
"Like his father, you are reckless!" I love this subtle tip of the hat that he will indess meet his father, because of his reckless and strong willed nature. Vader knows what it is like to loose those you lovem And so he will threaten to take them away. As another Villain said "you couldn't live with your own failure, and where did that bring you ? Back to m"
Great mashup video. I love how you used each clip of footage from the movie, as well as quotes said from certain characters, and the footage goes excellently with it. It especially goes great with the music. It captured a powerful tone and atmosphere. Great vid all around.
