The book is very unsettling to me in a way that I associate with overtly anti-good subtleties. An oversimplified explanation of why, is: it calls what is bad, good. A better way of putting it might be, it takes delight in glorifying an animalistic sensibility in a humanoid character we are supposed to sympathize with, to the point that feels intentional and subversive to me.

My take on 'occult' is that many people lost there way in terms of Christianity and sought to find a new path, to start again and hopefully reveal to themselves the aspects of Christianity that they had lost. It also seems that many of them got lost in this search and went down really rather silly paths.

It would be interesting to get a take on this topic from a Muslim from the Middle East where the tradition of the jinn and genies is still fairly strong. "Legends of the Fire Spirits" by Robert Liebling is an excellent introduction to this subject.

A symbol is a multidimensional pattern of associations between the mental sphere and the emotional sphere. The boundary region between mind and feeling is populated by symbols that, collectively, serve a translational function, directly relating thought and feeling meaningfully imaginally. Symbols are "charged" by your understanding of them, your focused attention upon them. The more highly charged a symbol is, the more vivacious is its operability--the more potent it is. The desire or need for translation activates the symbological processes. An analog of this symbolical translation layer exists as well between the physical sphere and the emotional sphere, taking the form of the habit nature. Mentally, conceptualization is a symbol-making exercise. Language is an especially dimensional symbol system.

53:00 I don't know if war signals a change of guards but I remember a world from a dream where the remnants of a golden bridge was long ago destroyed and the people lived in darkness. Still the wise people volunteered to exist on the outskirts overlooking the dim lights in the centre of their town. It's kind of amazing how little we know about ourselves and yet we fight for something we already have. 1:14:54 talking head?? Like AI as a mirror or AI as an invisible weight? Sometimes people need to see all the bad and ugly of human nature before it can be found, repaired, and detached from it's past.

G-d created the serpent and the tree and their function is similar to letting your child leave home, the nest. Partly you don't want it, but you also do want it, because that's the only way to grow forwards, for them to become adult individuals like you. You don't want to kick your offspring into the world, but rather you want them to leave by their own will and choosing. Only after they're out in the world, they'll have to use their own judgement and act like their parents.

How is that Urim and Thumim, a form of divination (that the priests do) are permitted when there is elsewhere in the Law explicit prohibition of Divination?

The Urim and Thummim was an object given to the Israelites by God to be used by the high priest for revelatory purposes as well as protection. It was not used in connection with magic and divination but was used by the high priest and the prophets on God’s terms. Certain laws were strictly obeyed in approaching God, both in the procedure of inquiring through the Urim and Thummim and in the entering of the high priest into the Holy of Holies. You know how Satan can't create, but only imitate? New Age adherents have a lot of rituals that misuse principles that are real God-given principles of nature but they abuse them. One that springs to mind are "power objects" like crystals, that they "charge up" with their energy to draw upon later. Like the woman to touched the hem of Christ's garment and was healed. Same principle, but people doing witchcraft are spiritually abusive and in disobedience to God's command not to practice pagan rituals to gain spiritual power.

AI is not consciousness its math Math does not think . Human will our consciousness is more then just math and so consciousness will not be accurately emulated though some products we think of as fruits of consciousness will be.
