I bawled the first time I heard this, it hit so close to home. I can’t imagine myself listening to it on repeat because it’s SO raw, but it’s such a standout song. I’m so excited for what else this new era holds
Halsey has always had this thread of her mudic surviving them. even in her earlier works she said "they beg me to write them so I'll never die" (they being their inner demons) and in Ashley she writes "some day when i burst into flames I'll leave you the dust my love / hope a bit of it will be enough". she's extremely aware of her own mortality partially because of all the health issues they've had throughout their life
idk why but i’m really hoping Halsey takes her time with this era. i feel we have just been having this 3-months-rollout for an album in recent years & i’m honestly so fed up with it. maybe it’s also due to my disappointment over Dua Lipa’s album rollout for “Radical Optimism” & Taylor Swift’s anti-eras.
I hope she takes time bc i’m honestly just overwhelmed at all this new music. It’s all stuff i’m excited about but at the same time just feels like too much! I can’t process one album before the next one is released 😢
@BethThereseReacts yeah apparently song is just meant to be like an introduction to the era and not official first single. that will release in coming weeks i believe
