Spent some time on my new 6.4 donor truck today in an attempt to hear it run.:) Without spending more time on it I failed to get it running. Some very shady mechanics have been working on this one.
I hope the price was Right... At least you got a decent roller for the Diamond T, and I'd be willing to bet a 453 T will fit nicely between the fenders... I love your videos, please continue, I'm hooked at this point...
Thanks, it was really cheap.:) The sale of the 6.4 core should pay for the whole truck. I'll keep all the pieces I think my F350 would need in the future, like fenders and doors etc and sell the rest.:) The 4-53T should be a great fit.:) Thanks for watching.:)
i've dealt with my duramax and one thing that will prevent it from starting is the crank position sensor. and also from the TCM reading the RPM. once i swapped my wiring harness it worked fine.
I agree --this 6.4 likely has holed piston--possibly combined with dropped valve the 6.4 I pulled out of my 2008 F250 had a flail con rod with fragmented piston--still ran --most destructive noise imaginable--
First!! Had a 6.0L that had that popping noise in the intake and it had a low pressure oil pump issue. JUNK!!!!!!!!! Detroit anything is a hell of an improvement!!! I bet they ran gasoline through it and ran hot!!! Give her some ether!!! Thanks!!
The truck is a donor for the chassis and being powered by a Detroit 4-53T Silver and 1947 Diamond T cab. I daily drive an 09 F350 with a Detroit 4-53T Silver and 5R110. Here's my F350, Thanks for watching.:)ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TQ2OSVeEjSo.html
Yes I like it, it's come in very handy fixing my Excursion and Powerstroke as well. I have the Ford suite in it and it just about does everything. I've also used it on non Ford cars and works well even with out the suite package. If you have Fords have you tried ForSCan? It's free and works pretty well. Thanks for watching.:)
Lol very true.:) I do love the modern diesel when they run right.:) I'm not sure what happened on this truck, but whoever worked on it didn't think it needed wire either.:) I'm looking locally and there's lot's of these for sale with the exact problem to this one.:) I'd love to build up one of these and see how long it would last for if taken care of.:) Thanks for watching.:)
so your fixin to use this long frame on a new build? an man oh man what a mess who ever worked on that should have there tools taken from them, frame looks mint tho cant wait to see what ends up being built out of it all
@@detroitgarage9430 thats wild an such low K's on it, from what i saw it looked like a good case of ɓuıuʇɥɓı˥ ɥsıʍǝſ, seems whoever owned it wronged someone at some point, or a mob of angry squirrels got all up an into that harness, an dont thank me i gotta thank you for all this detroit goodness you give us. stay well !
