▬▬ THIS WEEK ▬▬
1 Week away from making our way across the PACIFIC OCEAN - stay tuned for next week’s video!!
We start making our way North in preparation of jumping across the Pacific but sadly that means parting way with our long time buddy boat, Jackdaw. Mexico pulls out ALL the stops to say good bye to us with singing whales, leaping whales, gorgeous sunsets and wonderful sailing.
✨ In real time we are about a week into our Pacific Voyage. Want to track our journey across the pacific? Join us on Patreon for our exclusive tracker link.

▬▬ OUR STORY ▬▬
We are a multigenerational sailing channel with 2 boats and 1 collective dream of crossing oceans.
Meet Mick, Kate and their 2 boys Thomas and Bentley aboard Meraki a Stan Huntingford Explorer 45. An Aussie/Canadian family who dreamed of living life differently and took the leap into sailing life during COVID and have never looked back. Having sailed from beautiful BC, Canada down to Mexico and the next big leap will be the Pacific Ocean in Spring 2023.
You'll also get to know Kevin and Shawna (parents to Kate) aboard M2 a TransPac 49'. They've had had a lifelong dream to sail the world and are currently in the Caribbean with big plans to transit the Panama Canal very soon!
While the original goal was to be visiting anchorages together, life had different plans. With one boat being purchased in the Pacific NorthWest and the other acquired in the Caribbean we've been waiting out Hurricane season in separate Oceans.. but the reunion is going to be OH, SO, SWEET!
Explore the world through our eyes on our sailboat adventure of a lifetime! Let us take you with us on this journey to the next destination.
If you love adventure and want to see more you're in the right place.

What a great send off from the whales. It's only since you posted a video earlier that I realised that people can actually hear the whales singing, not just through hydrophones.

Pretty wild hey? As long as your under water you can hear it (whether that’s under the water line in a boat or swimming with your head under water).

Wow, amazing encounter with the Ocean's greatest denizens! I wonder if they were trying to signal something to you, or trying to make friends, or just having a good time? In any case, they were awesome.

So much research has been done on why humpbacks sing and it’s still a bit of a mystery. Research has taught us that it’s mostly males that are talking to other males but there are a few different theory’s on the why.

Mexico has the most amazing sea life. It was always a rare sailing day if we did not see whales, dolphins or turtles!

@@CruisingMeraki absolutely! and a nice finish with the whales...the panga friends we go out with in Nayarit communicate by radio to one another where the whales are for the site see er pangas as well as for the safety of the whales. You've shared some beautiful rare experiences with the sea life. Looking forward to more! Mic you are so stoic and set such a great example. Kate you rock. looking forward to more Thursdays!
