Admittedly it's the one series on the channel that has me checking back to the channel frequently. Don't watch any of the other videos. I would be interested in him even buying stuff that isn't gaming and toys. Understandable that he may not find that fun to film/edit though.
I hope these continue even though I know it’s hard to continue something when the deals are far and few between. I personally miss finding really cool deals when I was collecting for myself. I’m sure there are lots of us that want this to continue as it’s not just about the deals it’s just fun listening to you & franks banter
Really it's the sellers at these flea markets that are becoming their own downfall. their prices are comparable to eBay so what's the point of going there?
So true. And just the general atmosphere... I love vicariously walking around the flea market, browsing, Frank's banter... and the music and editing, there's just something so entertaining and relaxing about it, what he actually finds and buys is not a major.
you know you are part of the problem right... you complain about people aski'g too much en about those certain 'good deals' you mean robbery? Would you sell your Mega man 3 for 5 box? What???? No?????? You are destroying the market
Honestly, you and frank at the swapmeets will carry the show and you guys could sit there for hours buying rocks and it would still do good. Keep making episodes!
Maybe for your final episode interview any of the oldschool sellers and maybe ask them a few questions about the changes etc too. Also, another idea is to go and kind of take a comedy approach where you make fun of how bad the deals on gaming etc as you see them and then throwup ebay prices to compare.
I'd watch Madness if it was just Frank looking for good deals on plants, I don't watch them for the deals you guys come across, I just love your guys personalities and how it comes across as you find all these old goodies. I even get excited at the end of the episodes when you guys starting talking about doing a bbq because I think there will be footage from that :P
Loved the show when I first discovered it. You and Frank are a great team! These videos will be missed. Thanks for working so hard to put out the last few.
I'd be happy if it became "Frank's FMM" as his knowledge of classic music and movies made his sections both informative and entertaining for me and you will always be able to find deals on old media like what Frank collects. And who don't like the Frank Shimmy?
YOU gotta keep trying to make new ones! Its lots of fun to just watch you walk around checking things out. Please do not just end this amazing series! LONG LIVE FLEA MARKET MADNESS!!!
it wouldnt be if people were not expecting to get paid a ton of money for their Retro Games, Ebay has practically killed FMM even before the pandemic came and put FMM on hiatus.
I had thought a cool idea would be to do a flea market madness style video where you're browsing the vendor hall of a convention like MIdwest Gaming Classic since it's basically a huge flea market devoted entirely to gaming type stuff. And you can find some pretty fair deals usually.
Not going to lie to be honest love the series more for your adventures, the fun gags, and the involvement of Frank brings the run time and overall intrigue to watch more
When you do finally upload the series finale of Flea Market Madness you should end it with you and Frank sitting down for a live stream Q&A and finally answer the one question we've all wanted to know since the beginning: *what is the story behind you and Frank meeting and becoming friends?* I recall that being the one question you have sort of jokingly refused to answer for whatever reason. Unless you did eventually tell us and I missed it, but yeah that is something I've definitely been curious about over the years.
No I think he should end like this. Cut to dark. Have Pat sit up in bed and turn on the lamp. And say he had the weirdest dream. Then have franks roll over with his hair in curlers and ask him what happened? Then he can talk about how he had a internet show and he and Frank went to flea markets in California. Frank then roll back over and call him crazy. Then franks says you know we would never leave New York
The best moments from Flea Market Madness aren’t video game related. One of the best bits is when you found the Sex Box and told Frank it was a box of sex. Frank grabbed immediately and said, Is it? I died 🤣
I have been watching LGR's Thrifts for years where he goes out hunting at his local Goodwills and thrift shops and for the past few years the show hasnt been nearly as good just for the fact that there is just so much less interesting stuff out there left to be found anymore.
A goodwill I visited recently wanted 100$ for a common model N64, and a Savers wanted 20$ for an As-Is Final Fantasy NES cartridge. Most of these places are getting their prices straight from eBay. A buddy of mine, who worked at a local GW confirmed that's what that particular store was doing, at least.
i think we just want you and frank in any form we can get it. even something with less of an editing burden for you. but even without the games, the swap meet is interesting to me
I like the fact that pat only works on things he has passion/energy for. He is an awesome person. I'm sure he will make the correct judgment as to what to make, if anything.
i dont think people understand that it's never been about not wanting to do more, it's that deals are harder to come by, almost impossible i'd argue. and the madness involving Retro Gaming is only spiraling further out of control as time goes on, damn Ebay and damn the Resellers like Wario, because between them FMM is practically DEAD.
We don't have flea markets here (not really a thing in the parts of Canada I've lived) but I do go to a lot of yard sales. Sadly with the rise of the smart phone, and even the grandma's and grandpa's knowing how to use the internet, everything game and tech related is basically just priced at ebay or worse. Very few are even willing to haggle on it either because they know that it's guaranteed to sell by the end of the day so why lower the price? Heck, the last few times I went it would appear the cat's out of the bag on CRT TV's. Right up until the pandemic started I could easily find CRT's at yard sales for next to nothing, people practically giving them away. Now? Quite often I find them priced at north of $100 dollars for the ones people know are in demand, like Trinatrons, when they were 10-20 bucks two or three years ago.
We observed the same thing around here. Almost no deals, and no haggling anymore. I miss the days of finding deals on every trip. I'm afraid the best thrifting days are behind us. Luckily we have a couple local stores that price things slightly below ebay, and they tend to lower the price more if you're a regular.
I personally like the episodes cause of you walking around and showing the stuff and talking to the vendors n seeing if you can get the deals instead of the finding them or setting them up for them to magically find them like some folks. I also like the dynamic of pat n frank walking around and talking to the vendors and seeing whats around, hardly ever care if you buy or not or if you get a deal or not
Please continue , it's what attracted me to your channel and made me subscribe , that , and the avgn, I don't care if you pull episodes from 1999 , if you have any , I just love these, reminds me of when I go, Plus, Frank is awesome.
These were awesome to watch. It's like reliving the time I would shop around at the Flea Markets too looking for uncommon games. Found a loose Tomba 2 for $1 and another time a loose SEGA Michael Jackson game for $5. Fun times. Thanks for the reminiscing of those good times.
I understand what you mean. After my Grandfather passed away I tried to go to the flea market and find some good deals and I couldn't find any or some times sellers would change the price according to what was on the internet. A VHS movie I wanted had a fifty cent sticker on it and the seller looked at me and got their phone out and said no it sells for five dollars online.
I don't blame you guys for not wanting to continue, even tho I can tell you crowd & vendor wise, Flea Markets are back to normal, I myself moved on to looking at records, old magazines, CDs. I agree with Ian with you doing one last episode in 2022 to send it farewell, see whats changed, laugh at some of the prices people sell stuff for.
I think what makes those episodes fun is just the journey. It’s a look at where the retro video game market is at a given moment in time. A lot of us don’t get out there and only see eBay so it’s fun to see you out there and checking the pulse. But if you don’t want to do them then don’t do them
To be honest as much as I like flea market madness I dont really understand the point when they are filmed so many years before. So many more people do videos like that and they are upto date. Not sure if pat was the first but he was the first I saw. Now it's a whole genre on youtube
They are cool to look back on & shows how things have changed. As far as the genre the genre has been around a long time even before pat did them. I found him because of the series and stuck around. I still love them personally and a lot of others do to
I think the last episode should be the day you don't find a single "deal" on some form of video game goods. IMHO. Just keep going until that day happens. Don't have a set end, let it be organic.
The last time I went to the flea market was probably mid-2019? Biggest turnoff for me wasn't necessarily the lack of stuff, but the number of Trump flags and the recruitment booth for the local Mormon sect that would not take no for an answer. I can only imagine how bad it's gotten in the three years since.
I think the best cap you can do to the series is one last current hunt for a good deal and end on that good deal, a last hurrah. Then do a final good bye from Frank to us (as this is our only line to him now). Will miss the series, it really is your best content.
Doesn't have to be you finding only video game deals Pat, would just love you and Frank roaming around to see what interesting things you find. I think your fans would agree! Can't wait to see the modern 2022 tie-up!
Ian's suggestion of taking up cookware collecting could probably continue the show. Vintage hot dog cookers and infinite Sears coffee percolators without the power cords.....hell yeah. But yeah you do you and if ya ain't feeling it anymore then it had a good run.
I don't watch much, but I do love seeing this series, even if it's nothing insane. I have found some good deals at my local flea market, and I love going there early with my friend. Just a great experience. And watching this reminds me of that. I think you should continue it, even with minimal deals. Maybe focus on highlighting weird items people bring to flea markets, even if you don't purchase them. I bought a hard hat with the name John Bensch and now it's an ongoing joke among my friends.
Pls tell me this title is just a joke i know its not April fools but never to late. God its such an amazing series. I love living vicariously through your flea market videos because i will never have stuff like that where i live.
you could always transition to yard sales, garage sales, etc...there's plenty of channels that still produce game hunting content via these types of sales.
Finding gold everytime you go can be exciting but finding gold, now it's a bit harder after all those years, can even be more excting and other channels still find deals so for me it would still be very joyable to watch Pat and Frank from 2022 and on
You have to do a flea market madness movie where you and Frank go to the biggest flea markets across the country. The Swap Shop in ft. Lauderdale, Florida is epic, free circus every day, and the largest drive-in movie theater ever!
I miss these Flea markets. I've loved every episode sofar. What I also miss is: Ask frank. What happened with that serie? We asking random (Sometimes stupid :D) questions and he answer them in ways we never expected. That's brilliant!
Thanks for all the good times over the years with flea market madness. I don’t subscribe to the notion that you need to keep things going just because fans want it, please do whatever makes sense to you. You don’t need to turn it into a shambling zombie of its former self, but I can see the value in an epilogue episode or two. Too many TV shows and RU-vid channels have used fan feedback to extend their life and become garbage, I’d hate to see something like that happen to you too. Overall, the most important thing is to do what you want to do. We do love to see you and Frank out and about talking about stuff, but not if you aren’t enjoying it. I don’t see a point in swiveling to a non-game related flea market show, but you must do what makes you happy.
Garage sales. Garage sales. Garage sales. People trying to get rid of old stuff instead of operating a small business. Not to mention the 'power of the ask' to remind them they have a closet with a boxed console with 30 games. This is the best way to get great deals and still run a working game hunting show. SeeJayAre, Chase After The Right Price, BitHead1000, etc.
New series idea: Pat and Frank buy an RV and drive across the country, hitting up flea markets, estate sales, review giant rest stops, and bet on horse racing. I'm actually serious.
I hate to say it but I agree. Flea markets aren’t what they used to be and when it comes to video games everyone thinks their sitting on gold. It wouldn’t be fun watching all these sellers and resellers selling their games at eBay pricing. Unless it’s to see Pat make fun of them but even that would get old fast.
Yeah I loved the series, but I totally get why Flea Market Madness just won't be the same. For gaming, swap meets are just not the same anymore. I started going in 2013, and even as early as 2014 I could tell things were changing. By 2017 It got to the point where I was waking up too early and coming back with nothing worth waking up that early for haha. With prices being as high as they are now, it's probably only gotten much more difficult to find a good deal.
If you do a finale season you should go to multiple different flea markets before returning to the usual one. Sad it’s ending since I loved the series but makes sense if you’re not finding good deals...
*sees the title* 🎶 Say it ain't soooohwhoaohooo!!! Day it may happen a piece of my soul will go with those episodes. Fixture of my life for years now. Like a sound you didn’t notice until it stopped and left you there…
How can you end this seriously? Even if you’re not finding amazing deals all the time, just the thrill of the hunt and the uniqueness of the swap meet is something that I would not ever let go of. You won’t see me falling asleep during a flea market madness episode I can tell you that!
I go to the flea market for fun and think of it like fishing. If I don’t catch anything it’s ok, but when you go regularly you meet vendors that will give you deals. They aren’t the steals of the old days, but they are good and make it worth the trip. I do enjoy the social aspect and just being out treasure hunting cause you never know what you’ll come across. Especially enjoy it now after Covid shut it down for over a year….
