Okay, but real talk: The professors in this game have to be some of the most callous villains Game Freak have ever put in Pokemon. The Paradise Protection Protocol was an extra failsafe they put in to terminate anyone trying to stop the Time Machine by locking their pokeballs and then siccing a murderous future pokemon on school kids

Dude that split second when it said "AI Turo no longer wishes to fight" gave me fucking chills. The story in this game is just 👌

Biggest shock of this game for me was the very heartwarming ending, followed by the credits with FUCKING ED SHEERAN’S CELESTIAL PLAYING

Pokemon canon has held for years that Master Balls were created for the exclusive use of renowned researchers to let them carry out their projects on Pokemon, and I am incredibly pleased that scavi took this to its logical conclusion of an irresponsible researcher yeeting balls through time and keeping whatever they happen to hit.

Gotta love how Arven’s whole world was shattered finding out his dad is dead and now the robot one goes out to get milk, and then Nemona kinda just goes “ok cool, what’s next?”

The real reason we need voice acting: So that Alpharad doesnt have to attempt to read dialogue, skip 90% of it, and then say that it doesnt make sense I saw a video where they said How much you like Starfall Street depends on how much you resonate with them but maybe it actually depends on how well you can read

Honestly, I had just assumed Turo's head not moving was because the animation team was lazy, but the fact that it's relevant with him being a robot actually blows my mind. All the budget for this game went into story, I guess...

My favorite detail about the fight at 2:10:54 is that if you read the glitching text, for a moment it says "AI Turo has no intention of fighting any more!"

I'll be honest, when I played it I thought that Arven's dog was dying of old age and he was in denial and looking for these mythical plants because he was desperately searching for anything to save its life. Turns out it was just injured, and I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping for some tough story threads, but then the game pulled a fast one on me by saying "instead of his dog, it's his DAD! AND his dad's actually been dead for YEARS", so I actually love that

Alpha during the team star story: tell me you weren't bullied in school without telling me you weren't bullied in school

Best part, Alpha never learned the Academy is a public school, with some students being well into their "creepy old man hanging around children" years.

Funny story, on the pre-champion assessment I answered "Larry" to the gym leader who gave me the most difficulty. So when he appeared as an Elite four member I thought the game was literally trolling me with the Gym leader who gave me the hardest time lol

“Oh Ed Sheeran NO!” might just be one of the best cutaways he’s done.

Alpharad skipping through the dialogue explaining that Turo brought 2 Miraidon to the present, and then getting confused as to why there are 2 Miraidon, and also why none of the other characters are confused as to why there are 2 Miraidon, will never not be upsetting.

It just occurred to me that in the beginning, when "Cassiopea" hacks your phone, she may have meant that instead of finding your phone number online or hacking the school's personal data files, she locally hacked your phone via public Wi-Fi to get your phone number, and THEN called you like a normal person. Just another crime I guess.

The thing you missed is that Fairy Kid was the only rich kid. Team Star was supposed to be an anti-bullying vigilante group, and then they decided that that wasn't working and decided to resort to seperatism

Man, as an adult playing this game and seeing Arven get told to like. Just Cheer Up after seeing the closest person to his parent he's seen in YEARS leave him AGAIN, and all the trauma that comes with the implications in the lab. I was. Just so sad. Like put me in the game, coach, I'll drive this poor guy to his therapy appointments myself.

My favorite part of the Director helping out with Iono's gym test is that in German, instead of Mr. Walksabout, she refers to him as Schlendermann

“I can’t relate to team star at all!” Dude, they’re literally a bunch of school outcasts who got bullied non stop and formed their own group to fight back. Then they almost got expelled for standing up for themselves when the school staff never did. Idk, I find that pretty relatable

Arven's mom also walked out of him and Turo, like the kid ends up an orphan by the time the game ends. The only real upside is that his dog is okay again.

Alpharad is the first person I’ve ever seen to care about Nemona more than Arven or Team Star and I can’t help but wonder if his willing ignorance of the dialogue had anything to do with it. That said, it makes me so happy that he genuinely enjoyed the battle with Nemona and the Area Zero finale. Those really are two of the spots where the game shines brightest and gets you hyped

Other than the fact he skipped majority of the team star dialogue and then claimed it made no sense, it’s crazy to see Penny as a villain lol. All of team star were literally victims of bullying that took a stand and lost the plot along the way. Saying you’d shove penny into a locker is tone deaf af lmao.

He clearly just mashed through the team star plot. They actively AVOIDED using their family money. Uva/Naranja is a public school that formerly had a severe bullying problem. Penny cannot be jailed due to being a child, and she's literally under the eyes of Geeta, who's hinted to be a very aggressive person in secret.

Area Zero: (talks extensively about how there were 2 Miraidons) Alpha: why is no one surprised there's 2 Miraidons

I have some major issues about your comments on team start... 1) they were ALL severely bullied so they formed star 2) only Ortega is rich, and actually DOESN'T take money from parents, making their own stuff and inventions through their own efforts 3) they broke school rules, didn't show up, and even went as far as to literally round up and attack the ones who bullied each of them for being different (weird). 4) this story and the fact the consequences didn't really happen is simple... here in the US we seemingly love to imprison troubled kids and adults after a single offense, and instead of helping them and re-educating them, we throw them under the rug and expect them to just change and get better. Hell lots of the crimes, especially on impoverished or lower class kids, get embelished by prosecutors all the time to increase the sentence, just to ensure a sentence passes. SO this story is more about how you can help troubled youth without just throwing them away and hoping for the best. Penny comitting a felony is serious sure, but giving her an outlet to use her talent for good is MUCH fucking better than arresting her. especially since no malice was present, and she did it to protect her friends and hurt no one what so ever by hacking in. I clearly saw you ignore the story, and then complain it was the "1%" getting away with shit, but that couldn't be further from what it was.

Starfall street is about bullied kids. They were heavily bullied to the point where they didn't want to go to school and then came up with plan Star, Which backfired because even though they didn't actually do anything to the bullies dropped out all at once. All of the old teachers and headmaster resigned which caused the new staff hired. Penny was sent to Galar for a year and a half to heal. She made plans Starfall because she didn't want her friends to get expelled. It was about friendship and helping them to realize that it's safe to go to school now

Larry being in the Elite 4 was a bigger plot twist than Penny being Cassiopeia

Alpha’s reaction to the team star storyline and calling it bs after he skipped 90% of the dialogue is so infuriating and I can’t believe he doesn’t see the problem with how he’s misinterpreting it

A cool little tidbit I noticed is that at 2:10:54 if you watch at 0.25x speed you can see that when the dialogue changes, it at one point says, “AI Turo has no intention of fighting any more!”

Aside from everything else, I'm forever amused and frustrated about the fact that Alpharad seems delightfully surprised when Flower Trick crits. You know, the move that never misses and is a guaranteed crit.

I'm glad Alpha picked up on the fact that the reason why Miraidon's pokeball wasn't locked was because it belonged to Turo. That was such an "aha" moment as I was playing through the game and I loved it.

See, this is what happens when Alpha clearly skips through the story: he misses the entire point of the Team Star story, and how the school mishandled the Star kids who were being bullied, and how it created more problems as the kids rebelled against a system that failed them.

Alpha, I’d like to explain Team Star plot line to you Team Star was formed by a group of outcast students who were being bullied so they could group up and stand up for themselves, but when they stood up to the bullies, the bullies got scared, making Team Star look like the bullies, the school would’ve punished all of Team Star but Penny took the fall for all of them, forcing her to return to her home in Galar for a year and a half, Team Star refused to return to school until the big boss did, and this resulted in them nearly getting expelled It’s pretty shit compared to almost every other team except for Team Yell in Sword and Shield, but as a kid who was bullied and got punished for standing up for myself, I related to it

Man, I like Alpharad's sense of humour and editing so much, and I agree with some of the things he says...BUT DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT PLOT IF YOU DON'T READ THE DIALOGUE.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that Alpha saying "crit mattered" every time Flower Trick lands was a joke.

I really liked the climax with the two Miraidons showing their stuff. You could tell they were both going hard on each other and throbbing with power, but the terastalization win shows that it's not just about how big your Miraidon is, it's about how you use it.

Poppy isn't a 3 year old. They say multiple times in the game Nemona was the youngest to complete the gym challenge, so Poppy is a adult that dresses and talks as a 3 year old

I love how mad alpha is about penny getting away with her crime and getting a job, yet, that's not super uncommon for young first time hackers. As long as they didn't do anything super bad, alot of time they are given a chance to use there skills to help. While it's not the norm, it's not uncommon

And let’s not forget that on top of Arven getting no closure to his daddy issues, the time he spent desperately searching for a way to heal is dying partner left him sorely behind on his schoolwork. I don’t think there is a single character in a game rated E for everyone that suffers as much as Arven does.

ngl I loved Clavell/Clive. Just this old director who is trying to keep up and understand young people. If you act like you don't know clive, he even thinks he actually deceived you when he reveals his true identity, it's so pure. Rolled like that with almost all of the stories, and in the end I actually enjoyed them. They're not fun if you call them out on their cringe all the time, but if you just roll with it they're great xD

This is why I love this game. Every character has an ending, but it isn't a real ending. Because life always goes on, even afer the highest highs and lowest lows. It's not like they're being an asshole to Arven. They're all just teenagers, and they're trying to do the best for their friend even after he got such terrible news. Dispite how shitty it may seem for him, he's taken a necessary step towards recovery. Now that he truly knows the fate of his father, faced the place that injured his lifelong friend, and processed the feeling of hatred for the legendary he's carried for so long, he can truly grow to be himself and recover.

Knowing now that the legendary pokemon Miraidon/Koraidon were the future/past versions of Cyclizar, it now makes sense as to why it's stats are so high even though you can catch him in one of the first areas

Arven wasn't using his dog to fight those iron hands, he was fighting them on his own.

Getting a job working in computer security after hacking a system is actually fairly common. Hacker gets a job, company gets a skilled worker and doesn't get hacked into anymore

man the ending of this game is so good, its so sad how arven's mom/dad's ai commits actal suicide to stop the time machine in the end since they cannot live with out the tera crystals around the lab, they just couldnt bring themselves to say it to their boy.

I'm kind of impressed he kept in the whole giant segment where he yelled about how much he didn't read anything about Team Star.

Seeing larry getting judged by god via a pink gremlin with a hammer will always be funny

I love arven!!! His storyline is the best. His cutscenes are great. His design is so silly. I especially love the cutscene just before the gang enters area zero. When your character is almost left behind? The sheer strength of that man to pull another maybe 100+ pound teenager by just their arm? Wacky. Not to mention how he doesn’t even let you get yourself situated her just throws you down on the giant bulky lizard bike like that isn’t probably dangerous in some way Silly guy, 10/10, would befriend.

Arguably Arven did get a happy ending, because with you, Nemona and Penny he finally has something resembling family or at least a place to belong.

I actually like seeing Penny and the rest of Team Star put into community service instead of just tossing them into jail and calling it a day. Nice to see a justice system built on reformation rather than simple imprisonment or punishment. They don't get off scot free, and are made to give back to the community. Good stuff, Pokemon Company.

That ending part of the game is kinda crazy.

So I THOUGHT that I saw some other message in between when it changes from “You are challenged by AI Turo!” to “You are challenged by Paradise Protection Protocol” And I was right. When I watched it back slow, the message in between the two was “AI Turo no longer intends to battle you.” which is even more sad because it just goes to show how AI Turo doesn’t want this. The robot was a better father than the actual man 😭😭

It would’ve been funny if Nemona tries to pick the starter that beats yours but clavell just glares at her until she picks the weaker one
