yes there is an obvious natural climate rise and fall cycle, no one is debating that. whats happening now is human actions speeding up said natural process. Change that was meant to happen gradually has happened in just a hundred years. unless there's underwater volcanoes erupting regularly with out our detection, all signs of the speed up point to human actions.

The Supreme Court of Canada has quashed plans for seismic testing in Nunavut, delivering a major victory to Inuit who argued they were inadequately consulted before the National Energy Board gave oil companies the green light to conduct the disruptive activity. In a unanimous decision handed down Wednesday, written by justices Karakatsanis and Brown, the top court ruled the NEB's consultation process in Clyde River was "significantly flawed" and gave little if any, consideration to the treaty rights of Inuit and their reliance on marine mammals for subsistence. The Inuit have said the sound wave technology a Norwegian consortium sought to use in search of oil would have profoundly affected marine life in the area."What a victory for us," said Jerry Natanine, a former mayor of Clyde River who pushed this case for years, after the ruling was released. "Justice was on our side because we're fighting for our way of life, our hunting and gathering culture - whaling and sealing - that's our lifestyle, that's what we want to protect."

@Matthew Simms You do realize this particular community doesn't actually breed cows or can do any significant amount of agriculture for that matter.. They hunt animals in the wild without hurting their ecosystems.. It doesn't affect global warming the same way as domesticated poultry animals.. Im a vegetarian since birth but I can't expect the entire world to be that way.. especially when meat is consumed as a means of survival for certain communities and not a luxury..

i think it started with fire, once we learnt how to control fire was actually when things really changed. for ex. how many times we eat animals without cooking them, we can't eat beef without cooking, can we ? and because we learnt to control fire, we started using oil, coal, etc. as fuels. which is creating all the mess...

I remember of this old story from Vietnam that this reminds me of. +Javan Fitzerald I used to think the same until I really understood their history. Imagine having all of Canada to yourself (culture,territory, social structures, etc). Then people come in to your territory not understanding anything about your lifestyle and the harsh conditions of your territory. You befriend them with open arms, with love, compassion, shared your culture with that person etc. They even praise your aid at a point giving you great status. Few years after, you are stripped of their status bcz you weren't needed; taken out of your territories, and confined into a very small reserve where your kids will be stripped of their Indian status & forced to learn their language. Imagine being a mother, having you kid taken away like that, not knowing were they are and maybe one day told that he died. Today, hell, I know parents that still stalk their kids to this day. Imagine that Injustice. There is alot more that Im leaving out here, but its extremely sad what has been done to them. I understand where you're coming from but I encourage some in depth research about this! I'm sure you'll have a change of heart.

I really really hope this is shown in schools. It's not only very informative in general but it relates to the curriculum (at least my school's) and the video being so recent makes it much more reliable than the videos from even as little as 5 years ago that we are being shown. And as you said, we are young and we COULD make this heard but not enough people are informed. I'll make sure to share it with my teachers and I hope a lot more people see this.

I wish people we actually talk about the biggest green house gas pollution, mass livestock. the cows we raise produce enough methane to equal or exceed the carbon monoxide pollution, and co2 pollution. methane is way more harmful to the ozone. our population and the size it's grown to is the problem. we require more and more resources to sustain our society and there is nothing to thin the heard so to speak. hunters will know what I'm talking about when deer populations get too large there has to be an amount killed to maintain the ecosystem, why would we think we are exempt from the effects of over population.

I did a 3 page long report on it last year & my highly conservative hunter piece of shit teacher thought I was only against the meat & dairy industry because I'm vegetarian, completely diregarded my argument I spent weeks reserching & gave me an F for only having "biased sources". Considering I wrote an entire paragraph arguing for the opposing side, I'm convinced he didn't even read my paper.

I believe you're referring to the fact that Methane (CH4) is up to 100x more potent than CO2. If so, you've missed out a couple of points. 1) Methane stays in the atmosphere for approximately 10 years compared to CO2's 100 years. This makes the problem 'easier' and 'quicker' to fix. 2) The shortened lifespan makes the more relevant figure when comparing CH4 to CO2 to be 72x. Still alot, I know 3) Livestock produce only slightly more methane than the supply of energy does. Couple this with waste and other land uses such as deforestation, Livestock doesn't even amount to half of the methane produced. 4) So, no matter how you balance the importance of methane in climate change, Livestock is not the biggest problem. While livestock is still a significant problem, people need to stop attempting to shift the blame from other industries. Also, green house gasses, as demonstrated by this video, are not the only risk to the environment.

As long as a source is peer reviewed it should be considered a reasonable source. Also my point again was we are the problem on a much bigger scale. It's our population size and needs, the mere fact our agricultural needs (raising cattle) even produces more methane than our energy needs is an indicator of an unsustainable population size. People need to realize we aren't trying to save the earth we are trying to save our place on it. The earth has survived many extinctions, we just don't want to be part of the one we are causing. There is such a thing as a species being too successful in nature.

Unfortunately indigenous peoples around the world suffer the most negative impacts of these industries. The same happens in my country, Peru.
