Wonderful trip ! I had loads of fun and saw some new things. I thought that I had seen everything in the lower 48 but you showed me that I hadn't. As I've already said, I'm confined to my bed for the duration. I get to experience everything that you do through your VIDEOS !!! I love the closeness of your family. I raised my 3 kids and partially raised my 7 grandchildren with the closeness such as you have done. Thank you so much for letting me into your family. It means the world to me.

I was watching your video and saw some places that looked familiar and then you mentioned staying in Brainerd...MY HOMETOWN!!! I actually live in Baxter which is actually connected to Brainerd. Lake Superior and the North Shore is my very favorite place on Superior.

Love the Badlands but never really been in the ND section. I used to live in Ontonagon and wished I had made more of my time there. Lives half a mile from Lake Superior. You all drove right past my Uncles house there at AuTrain Bay near Munising. We visit there often!!!

I know many people will not agree with me on this but I enjoy your adventures very much however I love your winters at the cabin. We live at our cottage now and I would not trade it for anything but better health. Love you all and stay safe. Ps we are on Lake Winnipeg.

Point the nose of your boat out towards the lake rather than towards the shore. Will help prevent most swampings like you experienced. Put the engine up so that the propeller doesn't bang on shore if possible in case it gets pushed into the shore.

I just came across your channel a week ago and loving your content. I'm confused however in regards to your cabin. I watched the long video of you guys getting cabin ready for and staying there for your first winter. The one which showed you build on and build the shed which had the solar, freezer etc. Then I saw another video where you guys went back to shut down for winter and there were some boys from Norway and a couple of Peter's brothers. In that video, there looked to be several cabins. In this video, I only see one Are there two different places on that lake?

I love watching the footage of by your cabin. This is the area I grew up in, and to me, it is so beautiful. I had to laugh when you commented on the snow around Thanksgiving time, because the week before the temperature was in the 20s here. I look forward to watching more of your adventures.

Why don’t you dig a trench and bury a water line from the lake to your pump house where you can pump water during the winter?

Yes, normally, that is what we would do, but there is a 1 to 2 ft layer of soil over solid bed rock here. We’d have to blast a trench through the rock.

Have you tried using the Beet leaves and stalks in your meals? They are more nutritious than the beet bulbs themselves and taste quite nice. Can be eaten cooked or raw and are great in salads. Many folks throw them, away without ever realising they are disposing of the most nutritious part of the plant. Rich anti-oxidants and phytonutrients. At a time when cost of living is getting more difficult when purchasing veggies, making more efficient use of what you've got is always an advantage.
