The ENDING to Metroid Prime is just PERFECT. 

My favorite part about the Samus in this version of prime is that she looks just like a regular woman, most realistic depiction yet.

It genuinely warms my heart to see a big PS fan enjoy this series so much. His joy radiates brighter than the plasma beam.😂❤

Yep. Metroid Prime does become Dark Samus, your guess is correct. When it was dying, it frantically drew in every drop of Phazon nearby - including the Phazon Suit Samus was wearing, and because it was ripped off entirely, it became the new Metroid Prime 'shell' it's housed in - but since it looks like the hunter, it became known as "Dark Samus".

Deebee just blasted thru that last part, brings a tear to me eye. His flailing around during boss fights hasn't changed though which gets a chuckle and a thumbs up 👍. And now the Irish lad has found out Dark Samus' origin, which makes her a real hodgepodge of DNA. Part human, Chozo, Metroid and evil radioactive mutagenic poison, lovely...

Perfect ending to a near perfect game. Prime was special the day it came out and is still special to this day. So thrilled with how great this remaster was and how so many more people finally got to experience it.

I believe this is the first metroid game Dee has played where he maxed his energy bar on the first play through. Congrats my dude!

Man, the Flamethrower sucks. It's too bad Dee never got the Ice Spreader or Wavebuster. Those are both super useful against the first stage of the final boss.

Good job! It is a pity you missed out on the wave beam missile combo and the ice beam missile combo, though! You should go back and find them just to mess around with them at the very least! Wave buster is in chozo ruins, and ice spreader is in magmoor caverns.

Just finished the VOD of his second TotK stream which left me with a tear and now this.

As someone who used to speed-run this back in the Gamecube days, this play-through was both fascinating and infuriating, LOL! They changed enough that it's almost a different game from back when, but thank you so much for the blast of nostalgia DeeBee. This was a delight to watch!

Yeah, the ending to a very cool game loved by many players. The secret cutscene with 'that' coming out of the Phazon is just perfect.

so yea, that end scene back on the gamecube really got me for set-up as that was one of my earlyist main console games i beat (all previous games i had were on handhelds) so that was kinda the first time i had witnessed a teaser for a sequel. so dark samus is metroid prime useing the phazon suit it stole at the end of this game. there is a cool detail to go with that in metroid prime 2 (each encounter of dark samus in that game u get to see more and more into the suit and can see metroid prime's essence form sorta inside it)

Don't know if anyone ever mentioned this detail, but if you change the beam type while in xray mode, you can see her hand make the different patterns on the beam icons.

Watching him do the Omega Pirate bossfight hurt my soul. If only he knew that the only thing those guys can't absorb is normal missiles lol. Also, if you used the thermal visor, you would see that he had a weakspot for you to target with the normal powerbeam super missle. I'm also really sad that they changed the animation for getting the phazon suit. In the original game, the thing exploded and Samus was shivering in a position that made it look like she was screaming. It was really cool and totally understandable seeing as she was just almost crushed by the omega pirate xD

Pro tip to anyone stuck on the elite pirate: use super missiles when it is regenerating its armor (invisible).

It was both scary yet captivating to me. This game and this character has been with me my whole life. Very well done, DBG! I know the Omega Pirate can be frustrating; my best tip is to ignore the smaller pirates and focus on the big boy. His Shockwave attacks will kill the smaller pirates for you. Looks like you figured that out eventually =) .

Congratulations for beating this game so fast (given that it wasn't part of the roadmap of the year and he put it in there having both Mincraft (which got extended) and SS in the backlog, I'm so glad you enjoyed Metroid Prime, it is such an amazing and beautiful game. Such a perfect game. One of my favs of all times. That post credit scene is a tease for Prime 2, and "her" origin. The Metroid Prime's last remnants is using the DNA and data of Samus and her suit respectively that was stolen at the escape moment to create a new body. If i have to add, the Omega Pirate is probably the hardest boss in the game

My favorite part about watching people ply this game is the complete and utter refusal to use the scan visor. Bad idea for a drinking game: Take a shot any time they ask a question that a scan would answer. You'll run out of booze in less than an hour. xD

Now I really want Metroid Prime 2 to come to the Switch. Because now I want to see Deebeegeek play it, and react to everything that happens in it! Fun fact, Prime 2 was the first Metroid game I've beaten, growing up. One of my very first Gamecube games too, along with Smash Melee and Wind Waker. It holds a special place in my heart.

Honestly, Deebeegeek, I was looking forward to the 2nd game of the series, Echoes, but you're gonna take a while to get to it with your duties as a new father and Tears of the Kingdom taking up real estate in your mind. This comment exists to let you know that I'll be patiently awaiting the next instalment... until then, my irish friend.

As a 6-7 year old kid I would watch my dad play this on the Game Cube, and eventually I played it myself, trying several times until finally getting to the end in my mid-teens. Neither me nor my dad could however beat the final stage of the final boss, even after using strategy guides and making sure we had 100% of energy tanks and missiles and power bombs and whatever. I remember trying for days, but I always took way too much damage in the first stage to ever stand much of a chance in the second stage, and eventually I just gave up. I've heard people say the Omega Pirate is the hardest boss of this game, but I don't even remember fighting the Omega Pirate. I have very vivid memories of basically everything else, I remember my hear beating like 200 beats per minute first time I was fighting the invisible Space Pirates and I remember fighting the stone boss (the Thalus or whatever the name was) like 10 times before I realized you could shot his projectiles for item drops to help you through. I remember first getting to Phendrana and getting my ass handed to me by the Baby Shegoths. I remember stressing through the sunken frigate the first few minutes before realizing you don't run out of breath like in a Zelda game, 10+ years later when playing the remaster I even remember loads of energy tank and missile expansion locations and remember absolutely HATING the first section of the Phazon Mine and how many pirates there were and how far you had to go without a save point (which is were I lost interest and stopped my remaster play-trough), but I just can't remember the Omega Pirate. Either I got so throughly obliterated so many times I had to repress the memory of it, or found some god gamer soul in me and never registered that fight as something very special, I truly cannot remember.

I love how challenging MP1 is. So many games either give no challenge or you need to play a hard mode to get any. I think too many people get annoyed if they have to repeat fights. But like this is the *final boss.* It should give players a run for their money! Gives a sense of accomplishment once you finally beat it. Im glad you had a great time playing the game. I knew you'd love it as much as I do. MP2 is amazing as well. Still after all these years I havent gotten that far through 3 though, so I cant speak on that. "Tryhard" I dont think is the term you intended though lol

The Plasma Beam really is the Most Powerful Beam, it deals tons of damage and causes enemies to burn, yet due to it being Plasma which is Matter made of Ions (Ions are Atoms that either have less or more electrons surounding them than they usually should - which can happen when being multiple thousand degrees hot) they catch the lacking Electrons in the air and Therefore losing their Abilities they should have as a Plasma, That's how I can explain this

The Omega pirate, and Ridley are RUTHLESS on hard mode.

Hm. This game which frequently makes me switch my visors has a boss that I suddenly can't see. And it's logbook entry says that it becomes invisible. If only I somehow had the clue necessary to figure out how to fight this boss!

The Phazon Mine is still one of the most visually stunning area in VG history.

End fight SOLUTION! ====> you are NOT switching visors enough to see where Metroid Prime is. No wonder you can't see where he is as you anxiously pan your camera for him. THAT'S ur problem. When u can't see it switch to another visor. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it's actually NOT. When u switch and don't see Meteoid Prime on 2nd visor you know he's on the last visor you switch to. Just move to the pools of phazon and let him have it. Make sure u have Bombs available in case the little metroids overwhelm you. I've been waiting days for this 5th video of you playing this. Now it's awesome. Sweet! Thanks for this. 😁

Just finished this game earlier today The Metroid Prime - core final battle was frustrating, but the room before the final battle, where the missile recharge station is located, was more annoying with those Metroids. It took me 30 minutes to get past them 😆

If you think about it, "pheazon" is like "Imulsion" from Gears of War 1-3. Unique semi-sentient substances that corrupt and mutate any living thing that comes into contact with it.

The difference in Dees health bar from the first Omega pirate fight to his last fight is pure Metroid learning the fight.

Looking back, it's hard to believe how much hate and "no way this isn't going to suck!" this game got before launch for trying to do a First Person Metroid...... and damn did this knock things out of the park better then anyone could have thought! This game truly is a masterpiece, and your playthrough was just so dang awesome!

Even though I was there for the streams, I still enjoy watching these. This is my favorite First Time Play-Through of Metroid Prime I have watched. Can’t wait to see you play Metroid Prime 2 and 3 when those release on switch.

And fun fact: When Nintendo originally established Samus as a "bounty hunter", they had no idea what the term "bounty hunter" actually _meant,_ which caused some friction with Retro Studios developing the Metroid Prime series.

The Omega Pirate was probably always the most challenging fight in the game but the remake didn't help. If you go with the default new aiming controls it makes quickly switching beams and visors really annoying which is a huge pain during that fight (and during the last phase of Metroid Prime I went in a switched it to making d-pad for visors instead of beams).

He's been added to the hype train. We've got another one. By the way, since you kept mentioning him - Jay Jay hasn't been born yet by the time of Metroid Prime. All of the Prime games happen before Metroid 2. 53:17 You can't just "WAAUUGH!" your way through the final boss, my dude. It's a puzzle boss, you have to use your noggin otherwise you're going to get frustrated.

Having fought the Meta-Ridley boss fight so many times and on every difficulty including Hypermode on the trilogy. This game is THE reason that when I play Ridley in Smash ultimate, it's always as Meta-Ridley

Just watching DeeBee fight Metroid Prime makes me think... Aaaand this is why game developers do play tests for gamers to find out the average for peoples gaming abilities. People find diffrerent types of puzzles, boss fights, exploration and enemy types very annoying and as much as I thought this Boss wasn't an issue, it's interesting to see how other people handle it. Not gonna lie though that pathway before the Omega Pirate Suuuucccks like what sort of 'Platforming' is that!?
