i never know when to heal or when to dmg boost as mercy ;/ im always scared that my other supp wont heal them and ill get the blame lol... like what % should be dmg boost by the end of the game?

Folks call supports healers. Supports are called supports because they bring other tactical and logistical tools to the battlefield in this game. Years of standing in withering fire, instead of respecting the concepts of using cover and strategic movement have made low level players think that support play roles are there to prop them up with a steady healing stream while they stay a compromised position. The assault hero buff to apply healing debuffs for brief periods after a hit reflects proper battle damage so that healing is more like triage and hopefully makes people retreat to cover. Sadly, I end up with a 40/60 or 50/50 ratio for my beam usage. I fault my silver tier rankings. Players in this level of play don't understand how important it is to be more accurate or think tactically about their approach and positioning. I really would like to get a 60/40, but my teammates force me to keep healing beam uptime more prevalent as they continue to be out of position. The other thing that really makes me a sad support is the utter disregard folks have for their teammates. Getting teammates to understand the concept that this is a cooperative effort and we should be looking out for each other so we can survive together is one of the biggest things I push for in every match I participate in. When players realize that I got their back and appreciate the reciprocation, amazing stuff happens and the game is fun to play, even if we lose.
