Maybe Chris shouldn't have spent years punching every innocent baby he saw in public. Oh wait, he didn't do that? Huh, that's not how I heard it. Weird.
@@warmomo1227 You realize that any child of hitler's would be 80 at the youngest, right? So are we dealing with a clone hitler here, is it a cryogenically frozen hitler scenario, or just frozen hitler sperm? Pray tell, what shape has the myth taken?
I know it's supposed to be a joke, and a darkly funny one at that, but imagine if any of those Twitards saw any of this. (Yeah, it wouldn't be pretty, now would it?)
The fact that hating people had become a hobby is proof enough that social media is inherently a mistake. Touching grass is treated as meme making fun of chronically online people, but it's also incredibly good advice. There's supposed to be more to life than this and it's being completely thrown away because it's easier to feel superior to strangers on the Internet than in real life.
This just made me realize that Twitter is just the sociopathic teenage girl version of Reddit. If Reddit is the fedora wearing middle aged man, then Twitter is it's crazy younger sister.
God, this saga is like that one South Park episode where the people of the entire country keep bringing up Britney Spears for doing something harmless, labeling her as a blood-sucking creature, never realizing that they are blood-sucking creatures themselves.
I especially love Twitter's "You're either with us or against!" mentality. The last time a man said that he was a Republican, one of Twitter people's blacklisted people. They copied from who they think is their enemy.
What I find funny is that James Gunn (though I have my own disagreements with the man that is for another day) got it 100% right. This entire fucking hate fandom of Pratt is based solely on "I heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy who heard from it this guy who heard from this guy who heard from it from this guy who heard it from this guy's COUSIN-"
Keep in mind James Gunn got kicked out of Marvel Studios and almost had his career ruined because of Twitter's Cancel Culture mob mentality so it's safe to say he knew fully well what Chris is going through
@@No.1RatedSalesman He made some dark jokes about pedophilia years ago and Twitter discovered it and used it to get Marvel to kick him out of the MCU's production. He only came back to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 recently, but now he parted ways with Marvel and is moving on to produce the reboot of the DCEU (which I'm curious to see btw)
So a platform that preaches not discriminating against people based on race, religion, or sexuality discriminates against Chris based on his race, religion, and sexuality? Gotta love Twitter.
Everyone knows that ain't true, if you're white, cis/bi, and a man then Twitter hates your guts. The exception being any cute nerdy celebrity because Twitter is also hypocritical as all fuck.

The one where he got hate just for not supporting a specific political candidate is indicative of extremely scary levels of hivethink and totalitarianism, at least on Twitter, that is.
@@connor3284eh in person I've found people aren't looking for trouble. Mainly online stuff. Besides something like the rioting in the cities in 2020 of course. Some places do have people causing trouble but I avoid those cities.
It wasn’t even a matter of not supporting him. It was just a matter of him not showing up to a very specific thing, and Twitter, being Twitter, using that as an excuse to make assumptions about who he does and doesn’t support.
I swear every part of this documentary made me roll my eyes, that's why Twitter is a mistake, people just seem to hate on someone, because... I don't know really, they are just bored at this point.
Its because they cannot comprehend the idea of different opinions, they think theirs is fact and any other is dangerous and problematic and makes you a terrible, terrible person. For example people on twitter tend to believe only black people can have certain hairstyles… or you cant be racist to white people, or women are oppressed. Now if you disagree, and try to explain with evidence, they… they like.. omg they just cannot compute, they stop fuckin working. They instantly turn to death threats, calling you racist, sexist, homophobic, everything, while being those things themselves as they say "ur white arent you", "bet ur a stinky man", "i want to kill all white people", "this is why men should have died", "slt ur wrists", "go die", "straight people need to be beaten until they cant move", "shut your snow roach ass up before i come shoot you"…. and then they share what you said with their following because they dont know how to have a normal argument one on one. And then their following does the same fuckin thing 😭 and then they try to find your fuckin location lmao. They also tend to share this strange victim mentality around minorities, anything that isnt white, straight, man, "cis", is somehow the most oppressed, pathetic, vulnerable, moronic, broken people ever and will never amount to anything in life because of "white people", "men", "straight people", and so they apparently need constant help as if they were in a fuckin coma or some shit. I’ve never ever seen people act the way those on twitter do, ever, they are so fuckin mentally deranged and need serious, serious help.
@@dylanbell268 indeed. Twitter is a perfect example of what happens to someone who only thinks about themselves and everyone giving them what they want, and if they can’t have it, they resort to trying to break you down into little tiny pieces through the most, psychotic, vulgar, manipulative and messed up ways imaginable just from their computer screens. I’ve never seen cyberbullying to the extent I have seen on twitter, it is so fuckin messed up.
Your reactions to this stupid new Twitter feature of absolutely requiring a logon for you to even scroll down the pages are the same as mine when I just want to look at an artist's work and thoughts, as artists (specially on Reddit) will often link their Twitter pages. I'm an artist myself as well so I possibly may have to create a Twitter page to publish my works, sooner or later... But it causes me to shiver all over my spine to consider the risks for my very soul.
@@kaylemathewcomendador6964 I mean the Chris you see anywhere is not a real person. A-list actors rarely act like themselves online, usually shilling their shit or being bribed into supporting the politicians the regime wants them to.
It's the personification of Twitter, it's a bunch of priviledged assholes with nothing better to do trying to drag people below them so they can feel better about themselves. They don't even know what those words mean anymore.
I'm not the hugest Chris Pratt fan myself but man this was really eye opening and ngl I came away with a lot more respect for the guy than I previously had. It's kind of scary how easy it is to drum up massive amounts of hate for someone based on things that...never actually happened, and it's not like this only happens to celebrities either. but equally just bc someone is rich and famous shouldn't mean they don't deserve like, the most basic amount of respect, some of the things people were saying especially about the supposed jab at his son were really fucked up and way more offensive than anything Pratt actually did
Honestly. And most people wouldn't be able to handle the pressure of it all. Regardless of assumptions of what's "easy" for him, this is ultimately a great display of his strong character to not retaliate
I couldn't believe the reaction to the Titan submarine, like yeah they participated in some questionably dumb and risky behavior, but the same general group of internet users literally actively celebrated the deaths of 5 human beings solely because they earned more money... how is that not sick?
@@Nathan-rb3qp Hey, don’t be like that. Elliot was a dick for starting the Chris hate train in the first place, but that’s no excuse for homophobia. Attack him for the misinfo he spreaded, not for his identity.
@@Nathan-rb3qp Could've done that without the unnecessary quotations around his name and pronouns. Doing stuff like that makes it obvious you have a problem with them and that kinda makes you come off as a bigot.
The fact that the media and these twitter weirdos never acknowledge how much he does for charity and helps kids with cancer. It’s sick how much they go after him
What I can take from this, Twitter's failed attempt to cancel him based on an unfounded rumor posted by a single person, is how utterly ineffectual and useless Twitter is. Well I mean, I already knew that, but this heavily reinforces that knowledge.
Twitter thinks the world just started in 2015 and they’re the worst kinds of idiots because their idiocy actually affects reality because of how boundless they are.
That tweet about being a cop and shooting people, that was clearly jab at the police. Were twitter really so desperate as to ignore the blatant sarcasm?
It... definitely wasn't. It was from 2011. People on the whole weren't really paying attention to police yet. Bad cops being the norm rather than the exception wasn't widely-known, particularly to young, rich, white, straight christians, (young as in he's not old enough to have lived through Vietnam and the Civil Rights era). The joke is that if he wasn't an actor, he'd be _the caricature of a cop that only exists as a character to be played by actors_ (at least, as far as most well-off white people were concerned, as that's the only time they'd ever come in contact with that sort of police officer - in characters like Rooster Cogburn and Harry Callahan). The joke in its purest essence was "If I wasn't an actor, I'd be an actor." It wasn't deliberately pro- or anti-cop in any sense whatsoever. It was an obvious acting joke, a nod to classic sheriff and cop flicks like those of the 60s and 70s. Of course, those cop flicks were propaganda so people would look more favourably at police during and after the aforementioned Vietnam and Civil Rights era, but again, he's too young to really know that, so the propaganda likely worked on him just as it worked on a lot of people born after the fact who had little to no real-world experience with police, including a significant amount of the people jeering him on Twitter. Maybe even including you, until the social media boom in the mid-2010s opened your eyes to the reality of police brutality. Let this be a lesson that not everything is political, but politics still influence everything we say and do. You are not immune to propaganda, etc.
@@titaniumvulpes Ok. But the tweet was still a clear jab at a cop though. With the way it’s worded and framed there’s no damn excuse for this tweet to be taken and twisted as something that’s meant to be “gLoRifYiNg PoLiCe BurTaLiTy!” Like If you watched the video, people are clearly trying to show that Chris is some cop bootlicker, when the tweet wasn’t made during the time. They were literally using that OLD tweet just because it was convenient to them, even though it falls RIGHT into their line of thinking. You’d think people would celebrate this, but no, they slandered Chris anyway. I get “All cops are bastards”, but come the hell on. (Also, this is coming from a black guy, for the love of god, change that freaking tagline, because not all cops are bastards. It’s the system cops work in that sucks, make people know it’s the system.)
This is exactly why I absolutely dislike politics. You're a republican? Racist! You're a liberal? Woke! You're neither? Homophobic! You can't win with politics.
That there was some high quality journalism and a excellent video essay/ documentary about a actor that got hate form a case of hysteria and agreed upon stupidity.
Ok as someone who is disabled this is ridiculous, just because people are happy about healthy children doesn’t mean they hate their sick ones. I’ve seen people say “wishing for a healthy child is ableist” as in unhealthy child pls pls wish for your kid not to be like me, it sucks when your kid has to suffer, and not wanting them to isn’t ableist it’s healthy.
I mean, even IF Chris Pratt was at that MCU-fundraiser event, twitter would've still found a way to get mad at him. They'd probably would've said stuff like "oh, well he's just there because his PR-team told him to" or "Chris is obviously there as a trojan-horse", or heck even "Chris Pratt, we don't want you to be on our side. Go vote for trump, Biden doesn't need your vote. Biden doesn't need trash like you voting for him." On that note, Chris Pratt could just tweet out something completely random with zero context, something like "potato", and twitter would start going on & on about some crap about how Chris "thinks that the Irish Potato Famine was a good thing" or "is being fatphopic and is body shaming someone out there", or possibly something else like "he didn't even capitalize the P in Potato, that's just bad grammer, he's a grammer n*zi!"
People often say you can fake anything with things like photoshop and image editing softwares but I think that's making it sound more complicated than it is You can literally do Ctrl+Shift+C and make it look like literally anything was said without even having to have an image editing software. I can literally make it look like you titled your video "How to sell weed to preschoolers" and post it and that takes about 2 seconds to do lmao.
With the advancement of Ai and other tools, faking is going to become so easy that we have to genuinely consider everything as neutrally as possible nowadays.
Ignoring the fake controversy… Chris Pratt is like the most regular guy in Hollywood. That’s my only agreement with everyone that he isn’t not the best choice for Mario
I always thought the overwhelming amount of rage directed at Chris for being cast as Mario was a bit goofy. Like, he doesn't fit the role at all and I get that but it's also a Mario movie so it isn't really that deep.
People blew it out of proportion that I can't even take criticism of his performance seriously anymore, and I think that's where Mario fans finally cracked.
I remember people saying that the Mario Movie would underperform due to Chris' involvement, now the movie is on the Top 15 of the highest grossing films of all time and the third in the animation category, so maybe most people didn't mind Chris interpretation I didn't even had to deal with it because I watched the movie dubbed, since animated kids movies are rarely shown with subtitles on cinemas
@@delaneywolfe same here. This is probably my favorite video of his so far, so it’s kinda sad the other one exploded instead. Still though, I really hope this attention to his channel continues.
I would say that’s harsh but considering James Corden is a black hole of everything good, I think that’s a fair point. What gets me is that there are people out there in entertainment who have abused, belittled and ruined the lives of others but they don’t get the rake like Chris Pratt does. Kevin Spacey included.
Ironically twitters attempts to make Chris Pratt less likable made him more likable in my eyes purely because he never to my knowledge lashed out at the people making stuff up just simply making a response and giving facts
Honestly Elliot maybe was a bit of a catalyst but Chris was already seeing a rise in hate well beforehand. That always happens to celebrities who are extremely well liked, popular, and have this likeable, "good guy/girl" image. Him, Lin Manuel Miranda, Millie Bobby Brown, Justin Bieber, etc. Even fellow Marvel star Brie Larson or Anne Hathaway for a period of time dealt with it. They get mega popular and then suddenly people just feel the need to be different and make them into memes or hate them even if they've never gotten into any scandals or even when some of them were literal children at the time. The internet especially changes often and that has really gone hand in hand with cases like this. The faster we send out info the easier it is to switch our mindsets and sway public opinion like this. I also think it stems from people's jealousy/hatred of others finding things enjoyable they don't care for as well as a very inconsiderate meme culture where people online think it's OK to joke about real people even though skme of it is just straight up bullying or harrasment over nothing.
@xid Look, he's a piece of shit, but my sister and one of my best friends are trans. I'm not gonna stoop to that shit. I can call him a retarded cunt bag and still call him "him".
I swear if he died today people would actually celebrate his death, it's insane how much people dedicate to hating someone on Twitter (that applies on Tumblr too but not on the same level as Twitter)
Let's just say this, if we ever hear any news of Chris committing suicide, *which I hope to God will NOT happen, like **_EVER..._* But if it DOES happen, I think we all know who will be to blame
@@mariano1196 Wasn't there a mass migration from Tumblr to Twitter after some controversy or something? Similar to how NeoGAF was another progressive pit of vipers, then there was some controversy, they all fled to places like ResetERA, and now NeoGAF is a conservative pit of vipers instead.
What's really depressing is that even if that did happen (and let's pray it doesn't any time soon), people would cheer for a day before moving onto their next target. Twitter ghouls are soulless monsters to their core.

I believe the reason Chris Pratt gets targeted more by twitter than other famous white Christian actors is because he appears in movies geared towards kids (Lego, Marvel, Mario, etc) that tend to attract emotionally stunted adult babies.
I feel like Chris Pratt could cure cancer and end world hunger in a day, and yet these Twitter weirdos would still try to cancel him for it. I'm not even a fan of Chris, I just hate the mindset of cancelling someone who doesn't deserve it
I didn't even know who Chris Pratt was before the Mario movie stuff, but after hearing all the bullshit he's unjustly hated for I will show my utmost support to him
It actually makes me appreciate Chris Pratt more knowing that he avoided Twitter cyber bullies for all this time and still managed to be himself without giving in
Didn't really have an opinion of the man and didn't know much about him. He played a couple cool roles in movies I've seen and enjoyed. In terms of acting, If he's just playing an original character, he is actually alright. I gotta say, I actually respect him a lot now after watching. He seems like a solid man, genuinely appreciates his family and actually believes in his own faith, has cool hobbies, and doesn't stir up drama intentionally like most celebrities. I don't like celebrities and think of them as generic people and this man seems to be an actual functioning human being capable of emotions and compassion. Kudos for making the vid bro.
Okay the memes on Chris being Mario were funny, but at the beginning I could agree it was ridiculous that HE was voicing Mario. Now that the second trailer has released and we’ve heard his voice I’m actually changing my tune he sound okay
For a while i hade Chris Pratt as Jesus holding a dinosaur as my phone background cuz i wanted to look him up on Pinterest and accidentally wrote Christ Pratt so yeah it was strangely wonderful
Man, I really feel bad for Chris. He just breaths wrong and Twitter hates him. I'm not the biggest fan of the dude, but I respect him. A lot. He's really just a regular bland dude. Well, as normal and bland as a celebrity can get. He never deserved ANY of the hate he got. For the Mario movie? Eh. Yeah, he can definitely improve. But who really gives a shit. If anything, I'm more upset over Seth Rogan Donkey Kong. P.S, I also respect James Gunn for defending Chris. James has been in drama like this before, so he knows how it must feel.
I know, right? It's funny how people hate on Chris Pratt saying that "CrIsP rAt IsN't MaRiO"... By that logic, Lou Albano isn't Mario. Walker Boone isn't Mario. Literally no other VA besides Martinet is Mario. Or what about my favorite: "It'S jUsT cRiSp RaT's VoIcE". First off, that's flat out wrong because he's using an accent, but second, and FAR MORE importantly, my brothers in Christ, *literally every single one of the characters sounds exactly like their respective VA* (aside from maybe Bowser, Toad and Kamek)
Its one of those moments where the mindset of the haters is exponentially more telling than the person they're talking about. Either they were projecting the level of petty passive aggresion/blatant aggression they would have in Chris's shoes onto him with the whole son ordeal, or being that bitter and dishonest is so normalized to them, they see nothing wrong with what they've done. Maybe a bit of both. Either way, these people are demented.
She deserves some consequences but suing would be a bad idea on chris' part. It would be a bad look on him seeing how the little things seem to make people wanna rip him apart.
THANK YOU!!! for making this! It’s honestly astonishing how much people hate Chris Pratt for really no reason or they read into things that aren’t there. It’s really weird
What ppl seem to be missing is that if Chris doesn’t agree with homosexuality, that doesn’t mean by default that he hates gay ppl. One of the important principles of Christianity is being friendly and loving to those who live differently than you. Just goes to show that this generation has a serious problem with equating disagreement to hatred.
Gay people get killed almost every day for simply being gay. If you don't accept gay people, your homophobic, clear as day. If you disagree with homosexuality, you are homophobic. Homophobic doesn't just mean you wanna kill all gay people.
Not "agreeing with homosexuality" is pretty close or is hating gay people depending on how the person words it, if its the treating it as a life style choice instead of inherent to someone it is then its the hatred kind while there are those who just word what they mean wrong. Since "disagreeing" with an intrinsic trait is too often outright hatred. Like if Chris went in that direction he would be piece of shit if he didn't instantly clarify but he's luckily not said anything like that as far as I know and talked more like a sane person on the topic.
The thing I don’t understand is why people on Twitter think celebrities make their own tweets, especially if it’s a promotional thing. They’re at minimum monitored by a person or team that checks anything that goes out. There’s no way a AAA star like him would be allowed to openly come off as every -ist and -phobe in the book. A celebrity’s public persona is EVERYTHING. ETA: Everybody’s jumping down Chris Pratt’s throat over nothing, and meanwhile Chris Hemsworth, a multi-millionaire, took a bunch of gear only to claim he got that body using an app. Which he promoted like crazy and then sold. Chris Hemsworth is a fitness scammer in his free time.
What is up with the music. I don't know if it's because I'm high and the music is super enhanced but wtf xD There are like monkey screams at 6:39 and the music just sounds like djungle themed. It's so awesome. I love the music in the background, it's perfect!
now that the mario trailer has come out it's really funny watching people shit on him for actually giving a stale ass performance instead of some fake shit they made up lmfao
All of this problem just boils down to: "Twitter trying to destroy a guy's entire life, because he has a different opinion than them (some only being assumptions)" They all have to bring up a problem with & exaggerate the most ordinary shit in life
This stuff really makes me sad. As a Christian myself, seeing so many people quickly accuse him of being scummy either due to his religion or as an excuse to bash it, it really makes me feel attacked as well despite having no personal connected to the guy.
I must admit that there is a stigma with minority groups regarding Christianity, but as of late I've seen churches and christian communities supporting LGBT rights so my own biases are starting to heal, I believe I am not the only person who thinks this way.

You are great at telling stories and the editing is amazing, can't believe this video was an hour long because I was immersed in the first few minutes. I'm definitely subbing, keep up the great work!
What happened to Chris is proof that Twitter should cease to exist. It's just not worth keeping it up. Also, godbless James Gunn. He's a real gigachad.
I have spent so much time and energy sifting through the Chris Pratt/Twitter drama, feeling the same as you (WHY do I care so much about a millionaire who doesn’t know I exist?). Is it just my incurable crush on Star-lord? Maybe. But it also upsets me that a mob could so gleefully decide to try to ruin a perfectly decent man’s life (not to mention the effect on his children) and act like this is acceptable behavior while screaming for empathy and understanding.
Your type of content reminds me a lot of the old internet historian, documenting minor or large events happening on the internet. Internet Historian is still good, but it’s different from what it used to be.
Chris is adorable! why would anyone hate him :( edit: There's actually no reason to hate him. Twitter is just a place where common sense comes to die. A place where people who are chronically online don't take 2 seconds to open another tab on their browser and fact check their baseless accusations.
Man this channel is a hidden gem. Looking forward to your future content. I think you can really make it big her with a bit of luck. Also, my condolences for having to make a Twitter account
At this point this oughta be called the "Reverse Tallarico Effect", where instead of getting so successful and big that repeating the same lie over and over doesn't matter because everyone believes it, Pratt instead is so drenched in lies that other people made of him, IN SPITE of that getting roles for movies and all that, is its own level of astounding and bewildering.
I've asked a handful of people why they all the sudden dislike him, but none of them really had an answer. It was just something about "not claiming one of his kids", which doesn't appear to be true as all, and belonging to a church a lot of people dislike. It's bizarre.
I quit Twitter when a youtuber I like, who is KNOWN for thoroughly researching their topics, hopped on the Chris Pratt hate train without a scrap of genuine evidence. Like, I was and am open to the idea of Chris Pratt being an ass, but I did need some proof. Some tweets, some recordings, even a few anecdotes. Nada. If you don't like him fine. But maybe put down the pitchforks until there's some genuine proof that he's a terrible human being. In the meantime I'll stay off the hateful site, thanks. Hope Elon Musk buys it and drives it into the ground with his idiocy. (Someone I am happy to hate because there's mountains of evidence that Elon's a terrible human being.)
I feel as if alot of these people see Chris as everything they believe to be evil. He's a rich white religious family oriented man and see that despite him representing everything they view as wrong is happy, successful and fulfilled, and internally feel "no why does he have everything, doesn't he know the things he believes in is wrong, I'm doing everything right so why am I a loser!?" So they then try to scrape together anything they can to convince themselves he's actually a bad person when he actually isn't.
Now shut up, all of you Chris Pratt haters. Otherwise, he will send Groot, Rocket Raccoon, several Lego minifigures, a pack of Velociraptors, Mario, Barley Lightfoot, and Garfield to beat your asses. The minifigures will make sure you step on them, and it will be painful.
I’ve been binging on your videos MagicMush and the finale was really touching. You have done research throughly and it really shows. I hope you become an even bigger channel one day. Thanks for the laughs man

Or they make such braindead-inducing takes that they become actualised and affects reality for real because everyone else parrots the same bullshit without factchecking. Usually with franchises.
Thank you so much for making this video, showing all the weird tweets that tried to cancel Chris Pratt. I've always felt bad about what happened to Chris esp the ableist one. At the time, I didn't really know him but I remembered not to jump the gun like the Amber Heard case. So I just moved on Then I got interested in GOTG and Chris so I watched some interviews, old and new. Lo and behold, he literally debunked every negative thing that Twitter tried to shame him. In his interviews, he mentioned loving his son, fantasizes choosing the best Chris to date (Evans, Hemsworth, & Pine), supportive of his female costars, doesn't discriminate, and loved by everyone that worked or talked to him. He's humble, funny, wasn't political, and a bit spiritual So when I remembered the ableist accusation, I just feel bad for him. The very thing that broke him was the thought of his son reading all the mean things they assumed of Chris. He's genuinely really nice and to think people want him cancelled is just sickening Sorry for the long post. I just thought we should get more actors as humble as Chris Pratt :)
💯 he really is one of the nicest people.... I have never seen anything bad said about him by anyone who actually knows him or has met him, all they have to say is nice things and praise. He is such a nice caring, loving and respecting guy and its sad that people just can't give the same respect back
I want to say that you don't need photoshop or a program to fake a tweet, you can literaly use inspect element on your browser without programming experience, take a screenshot and be done.
With the upcoming release of the Mario movie, I’ve seen more hatred than ever of him. I don’t think hating someone just for existing is healthy then again diagnosing twitter users is like diagnosing a room full of serial killers you can’t change their minds.

I really liked watching this video from a political point of view. I’m a total leftie, but watching other “lefties” go after Pratt so damn hard for these tiny things was enlightening. It reminded me to always think for myself and not follow hype too much. Like, “oh no!! Chris Pratt wore a libertarian shirt”lol. I’m not a libertarian and I personally disagree with the message his shirt represented but some people were out for blood from minute one and it shows.
It's kinda the ironic thing about leftists. A lot of them vehemently hate anything religious, yet they treat themselves like a cult who will exile and shame you the moment you show any sign of "wrongthink." I think more people would be tolerant towards them if they didn't feel the need to show how morally superior they are compared to everyone else.
