This is the Entire History of the Battlefield series from Battlefield 1942 in 2002 to Battlefield 2042 in 2021. Timestamps in Description! Battlefield Portal brings this all together.
The Battlefield series "release date" was in 2002 with Battlefield 1942, and we follow each game to the Battlefield 2042 release date in 2021. Analysis between the differences between the games, new features, vehicles, weapons, classes, gadgets, unlocks, cosmetics, gunplay and movement.

BF3 will always be the best out of the series. It was THE best game in terms of map, weapon gunplay, weapon sounds and vehicle play.

"how big it's developed" sounds like he's either saying it's just had a lot of games in the series, or the evolution of the series has progressed quite a bit "how little it has developed" when you take the "big" part into consideration it sounds like he's saying the series has stuck to its core roots in spite of its size, as in amount of games. how could it evolve in a big way and in a small way at the same time.?that doesn't make any sense. what is he trying to say?

The Bad Company games were the last games where I actually enjoyed playing multiplayer. The destructible environments combined with huge open maps were just awesome.

It's weird, I haven't put any significant time into any of the BF games since Bad Company 2 came out, but I still play BC2 weekly. I played 3 and 4 for less than 5 hours and I put maybe an hour into BF1, yet I still can't get enough of Bad Company.

Battlefield 1 was my first battlefield game, love the unlike setting as it was the birth of most modern weapons as well as it’s fun fast paced combat that still managed to stay somewhat true to ww1 with amazing maps as well. Hoping bf2042 is amazing as well!

Bf1 diverted from history a ridiculous amount, enough to be called an alternate history. -Lack of any real trench warfare -vehicles that saw very limited use being used on every front on every year -guns that saw EXTREMELY limited use making up the relative majority of available weapons -maps that basically never existed like Amiens and Prise de Tahure -inaccurate soldier models -scopes being able to be attached to basically any weapon -Airships flying low over active battlefields -elite classes

I understand people not liking BFV, but when they bring up "it was too similar to BF1" pisses me off when nobody makes that complaint about BF4. It is almost a carbon copy of Bf3. BFV's gameplay is way different from BF1's.

I understand where you're coming from, however, BF4 was an updated and improved war game to BF3. Both similar in the sense that they are both war games based in the current day, but they were different games. After making BF1, releasing another war game that was set years in the past, using ancient weaponry, again, seemed too similar to the last historic war game release. A World War style BF game should have been a one off, not done back-to-back with another World War style game.

I was complaining loudly in 2013 about BF4 being what BF3 should have been in the first place, but I was the minority opinion at the time.

Maybe because the BF3/4 formula worked and BF V was a huge departure from the series. If it ain't broke don't fix it. BFV's follies are why 2042 is so bad. I wish I could get a refund for 2042.

Bad Company 2 had a Vietnam DLC and it was awesome. In fact, the Bad Copany series needs a new installment. It was arguably the best series in the franchise.

I got fond memories of playing BF2 and 1942. I still remember me and my friend were trolling in wake island's airfield. Blocking a J-10 from taking off. The J 10 moved backward amd launched himself like a rocket. So random

Hardline is my favorite battlefield! I never understood the hate, I loved from the mechanics and weapons, to how the game played and ironicly the play styles of other players. It honestly might be my favorite game of all time. I still play it to this day.

@@eclypse1513 I think most of the 'haha Italy bad' jokes stem from their performance in the Second World War, not the Great War. Even then their performance in WW2 was largely down to inexperienced officers and antiquated equipment. There are plenty of scenarios of the Italians being just as capable and fearless as the other nations.
