Has anyone ever noticed that Clarisse fulfills a similar role as achilles, in the last olympian as he did in the Iliad. 1. Clarisse didn't fight in the Battle of manhattan because of the fight she had over the Chariot, Achilles didn't fight in the trojan war because he had a fight with Agamemnon. Then he sulked in his tent, like how Clarisse stayed at camp. 2. Her friendship with Silena, was quite Achilles and Patroclis (Idk if I spelt that right, thanks dyslexia) like, especially in the way it ended. In the Iliad Patroclis wore Achilles armor to attack the enemy and guide his troops because Achilles was sulking and refused to fight. In the end Patroclis died, Achilles went into a rage and despite being prophecyed to die in the battle, carved a bloody path through the enemy troops. Sound familiar? 3. After Hector (important Trojan enemy dude) was killed by Achilles, he (Achilles) dragged his (Hectors) corps behind his chariot around the walls of troy. Clarisse dragged the Drakon behind her chariot as well. 4. Silena and Potrocolus are similar, there both great people. I love them. 5. Achilles is invulnerably, Clarisse became temporarily invulnerable while she had the Blessing of Ares. 6. Oh also she got frozen and Achilles died, so they were both out of commission, this is a bit of a stretch but eh. I'm sure there are different things, what do ya think??

the thing about Clarisse being close to Silena can also be related to the history between Aphrodite and Ares, as the 2 gods were know to have many children together, and I think this point is mentioned in the books as well

This is an amazing video about an amazing character. She has so much depth, and I think one of her best moments it in last olympian and when she darted to help wounded soldiers

The one thing I am a little mad about when it comes to Clarisse's character is her relationship to Silena. SPOILERS for the Last Olympian Silena dressing up as Clarisse to encourage the demigods to fight and her taking on an enemy only Clarisse could defeat parallels the legend of Achilles where Patroclus did the same. Both were killed in the process and got Clarisse/Achilles to fight again. Even though it's not explicitly stated anywhere, it is very likely that Patroclus and Achilles were in a romantic relationship (Achilles describes Patroclus as his beloved companion and his reaction to his death is not how you react when a close friend dies in my opinion). The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller explores their relationship in more depth, I highly recommend it. So I would've loved to see a romantic relationship between Clarisse and Silena. If Rick chose to parallel their and Achilles' and Patroclus' story, he should've gone the whole way.

I’ve only read Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo online. But Clarisse is an interesting character and I feel that even from the beginning she had a higher purpose and I commend her for her spirit but also her sense of loyalty. I do hope you do videos on Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Thalia, Nico, Will, Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Tyson, Calypso, Rachel, Reyna and Chiron

I've always wondered how demigods at Camp Halfblood get up to university standards because (Unlike Camp Jupiter) the education programme is based around combat and war, not booksmarts and university and many of the demigods (Like Clarisse, Percy and Annabeth) would be too old to enroll at Highschool

I can never forgive clarisse for her refusal to fight in the war. I mean come on, just because of her bruised ego she didnt allow the children of the war god to fight in the war for their home and survival. Thats plain dumb. So many campers could have been saved had they fought from the beginning
