The people leaving tents aren’t leaving them because they want less stuff in the car. They’re leaving them because they’re too hungover to deal with it. This guy needs to pass out tents for a fee. Then when the festival is over pick up all the tents left over clean them and use them again.

The same people who would leave a tent are the same people who, if they did find the energy to pack it up, would rather take it with them and save some $$$ instead of paying for an expensive shipping service. A rental service with a deposit would make way more sense... could see a lot of people going for that.

Touble would be giving everyone a tent ... would be queues for miles. Better of festivals just include the tent rental in the price and the tents are set up when you get there. The festival should then put down the tents at the end of the festival and reuse them. If you put em down yourself, they give you money, a voucher or preferred treatment at the next festival.

He's over complicating the entire process, completely unnecessarily. Have a team stationed at each festival ready to hire out these kits, and at the end of the festival have a slightly larger team ready to go around and pack them all up. You can have a pre booking website so goers can ensure the availability, but also have an excess number so people can rent them on the spot too. You would need a credit card hold with a replacement fee for damaged or stolen kits, which is a set replacement price of the 75 quid. That's incentive enough that people will take care of them, and protects you from the inevitable drunk and rowdy damage. This would also apply if the tents have been soiled with bodily fluids, been thrown up in etc. The mud and dirt is a fact of festivals, and the renters wouldn't incur any fees for that. After the festival, you take back all the kits to the warehouse, have a crew clean them up and be ready for the next festival. With this level of convenience, I think people would be happy to pay up to 50 quid for the rental, and you only need the kit to average 2 uses before needing replacement to be profitable. The extra costs of an onsite team to do this work will be more efficient than country wide delivery and return after every festival. Once this service becomes well known, you could imagine a very high percentage of the people will use it over carrying all their own gear. It amazes me this isn't already a business, it seems like something that could be very successful and have global potential.

This is the worst business model ever. Isn't the solution obvious? Just have a kiosk at the festival where you rent out the tents. Have people pay a fee but also a big deposit that they'll only get back if they return everything in good condition. If they don't return it, the business keeps the deposit AND goes out afterward to collect up all the tents that haven't been returned. What this guy is suggesting is unnecessarily confusing. Ship it back to your house so you can carry it to a festival, and you'll have to pack it up again. It doesn't solve the problem at all.

When you go to a festival you buy a new tent , when you leave the tent is left behind deliberately like a flag of attendance . Most partygoers assume the council will pick it up. So there’s no consumer demand for a service that sends them a tent back unless it’s to argue it’s not the tent they had at the festival and this ones all broken. There’s no easy business here

I feel like this guy could have explained his business much more clearly. Three levels. 1. Basic, you buy the kit online which is delivered to your home--no other services provided. 2. Beginner: you buy the kit, like the Basic level, but you ship it to their warehouse when you're ready to attend a festival. It's then delivered to the festival HQ and when you're done, you drop it off at festival HQ, who ships it back to your home (seems like a lot of shipping). 3. He never explained the "best" service. It's actually pretty complicated and it took me more than one viewing to work it out. I don't think any of the dragons actually understood the whole thing.

I checked out the website and there is no “best” package. Just “basic” which is just buying the bag and getting it delivered to your house, and “beginner” which gives you the bag at the festival and collects it at the end to ship it home. To be fair, there doesn’t have to be _that_ much shipping if they’re dropping the bag to you at the festival and picking it up when you go. It’s only the shipment of the package to your door then (plus whatever transport they use for their festival presence). I might be reading it wrong but there doesn’t appear to be an ongoing delivery service that you can use again for the same package, which seems like it defeats the purpose…
