Bob this is one of your best fishing videos yet for so many reasons, your style is so kool & your descriptive explanations while in LIVE Mode make it all the more better...& then at the end aside from the culinary delights of the catch of the day we are brought into a few personal minutes of closeup dialog that was simply amazing getting to see the face & voice behind the curtain...Thank you so much can't wait to see what you'll treat us with next..
Appreciate you watching Coneyisland1952, thank you for the kind words. The fall fishing should be pretty solid in a couple months, there is a ton of bait around and right on schedule
@@CKosa Right on, he's in a bunch of my videos I just keep his face private. I don't know if this screen name is yours or not, the handles seem to change but did you take a picture holding a schoolie bass with my go pro?
I look forward to seeing your videos on youtube. Great way to start my day or end it. Hope to run into you one of these days. Got my first big striper under the BKb a few weeks back.
wish I had the same confidence in lures. Fished a spot the other day for 2.5 hrs with lures, nothing. As soon as I put bait in the water the fish kept coming. Great vid as usual.
Baits #1. Really depends on the area too. Artificial can work great under the right conditions but baits just the best. Hope your having fun out there, cheers bud!
Wow great video. It was so exciting watching I could feel it. Those cownose rays fight like no tomorrow. And nice to see you eat blueish. I love eating them a lot of people do not like them. Again great video
Blues are great. Something about that fishy taste throws people off but I really enjoy that part of them. It contrasts and pairs well with a lot of dishes. Thank you bigbuck9984
Thank you bud! There is still some good fishing opportunities just a little tougher from shore. Great time of year if you got a boat/kayak but kinda tough on the shore angler. It'll get better real soon
The ocean’s been too windy and rough around here. Luckily I found a spot in the bay with cover from the wind and have been rippin’ blues and fluke for the last couple of days. It’s been a blast.
Never caught a sting ray on artificial always on the bottom with a piece of bait that was crazy! You all keep those flounders sometimes I know we love them down here. Good video man.!
It hit like jig like a topwater blowup, tail did that sideways flap out of the water like a game fish strike. Usually I snag them by accident but I think it actually wanted the jig haha
@@BobAquatic Hey Bob! Thanks for responding to my note. I just got a couple of epoxy jigs and would appreciate your views on how to use them in the surf for flounder. Do you use the standard "twitch, twitch, pause" action or do you do something else? For blues do you just retrieve fast throughout? Many thanks! Del
@@delmonicofarquhar9893 for the surf I’ll switch it up to slack line snaps off the bottom and the twitch twitch like you mentioned. Just find bottom contact the whole time. Straight retrieve for blues works great with the epoxy because you get broke off less often from them biting the line. They seem to like a faster retrieve when they’re feeding on rain bait, not sure why
Thank you artvandelay418, I'll try and incorporate that into the next beach session. There is a ton of great dedicated videos on that subject already. If you are having trouble just look for rip currents, waves moving toward one another in a triangle formation. Easier way to break it down
Hey bob I recently started watching your videos and I really enjoyed watching ur videos I just needed a tip on the best bait/lures for catch striped bass.
Hey it is a g loomis gcx inshore rod here is a link: amzn.to/3LWLKFP , The reel is a Penn clash ii 2000 link: amzn.to/3AkIzoP , Then at the end of the video I switched to a 4000 size Penn Clash I keep in my bag when the current runs faster, link to that reel: amzn.to/46NXa8j
Hi Bob - I just found your channel. You probably know this already but I'll say it anyway. Maybe a few other people will find this useful as well. Get a pair of Korkers Rocktrax cleats or something similar. They clip into normal everyday footwear. The last thing you want is to slip and fall on those slimy rocks. It only takes one bad step and you can go down. See Bob's response below. I stand corrected.
You just want carbon spikes or felt shoes. Don’t matter the brand, you can get carbide spikes for cheap and drill them into boots. The slip on korkers with the straps are an excellent way to roll your ankle and I don’t recommend them. I personally wear the korkers boots with carbide spikes and a helmet. Thank you for watching
@@BobAquatic Thanks for the quick response and the info. I haven't done any rock hopping in a few years. It was never a regular thing for me. I wore the slip-ons out of convenience. I appreciate the details. Now I know there are major drawbacks to that design. I'm glad you take your personal safety seriously. I don't want to see anybody get hurt unnecessarily doing something they love.
thank you for watching the episode. its a hogy epoxy jig 7/8, here is a link: amzn.to/46H8y5G , and a pink spro bucktail 2oz, here is a link: amzn.to/3SGXjVa
i swear those little blues destroyed most of my tackle over the past few seasons. Not just the soft plastics, but literal first cast with topwater tsunami popper the hook and split ring got chomped off.
@@arsfishing dang sorry they got you. They’re a ruthless species. I don’t fish soft plastics this time of year, too costly. Always metals and bucktails till the water cools off. Then it’s back to the paddle tail fun. Cheers bud have fun out there!
Always do, I love how you fish the city. I live and grew up across the hudson in NJ on the palisades cliffs. Im not kidding when I say this, there are spots I have that no one has ever fished. they require a little hike down, and then up the cliffs. nice workout and late nights out there get me spooked at deer. But this one spot i found literally is PERFECT for fishing and gorgeous. Many nights only catfish. But the one night I had... ill never forget. bass after bass. prettiest night too.
You talk a lot early in the video about really scouting out the beach, I understand looking for troughs and sandbars, but I really dont get how you're able to actually see fish out there on the beach, especialy from the beach angle
@@kabirsingh1159a lot of it is instinct to be perfectly honest. You’ll know the difference with bait and fish disturbance in the water with enough time. Pair of good polarized glasses go far too
