Optimism is just another tool, but a useful one. the thing about horror games is that they try to use your mind against you by making you afraid. After all... Isn't it better being able to see the monsters than having them move unpredictably in the dark? I can imagine I'd be even worse playing the whole game without monsters and finding out you were alone the whole time, running away from absolutely nothing there but a few noises.

That horrible feeling makes sense; after all, you understand enough to know they are suffering, but (presumably) not enough to communicate with them, let alone help or at least provide some comfort. You know that this person is all alone in their suffering, accentuated by the language barrier, and you aren’t in any position to help. That is terrifying.

@@catchara1496 Typhon is considered both. I'm not an expert but that what I've found. Typhon is technically a giant as they were born after the Titanomachy by Gaia for revenge against Olympus. But at the same time, giants were said to be born from the shed blood of the Titans, not properly. Yet, if I'm not forgetting, Typhon was born naturally so hes also considered a god.

You should try it yourself I find it's actually much easier than using your arms.
