The gyroscope aim on the switch is amazing for splatoon. It allows me to do flickshots with chargers (aka snipers), and I can also quickly change my camera view to check my flanks without taking 10 seconds.

I knew Splatoon had a Competitive scene but geez this is way bigger then I thought it was. If only Nintendo supported them more, Splatoon could litterally be the biggest Shooter of all time. Regardless I still love this game and I love your videos, I always end up learning something new.

Splatoon is easily one of the best Esport scenes, even if it's not one of the biggest, and my favorite shooter I've played. The community is really tight nit and everyone appreciates each other, and the game itself is really unique compared to most other shooters and stays fun for much longer than other games. As an Esport, I've found that it's better than most because it is incredibly well balanced and I don't think I've ever seen a cheater trying to get into the competitive scene. Overall, it's my favorite multiplayer game I've played and it's definitely up there for one of my favorite games overall, of course thanks to the multiplayer, but also because of the single player campaigns which are actually really good.

Even as a long-time Splatoon player, I never fully dipped into the Splatoon 2 competitive scene myself (mostly watched some big ones like Smash 'n Splash 4 and the World Inkling Invitational), but I always admired the grassroots effort, the consistency of the metagame, and the fact that Nintendo really gave it a chance to shine. Might just pick the game up again for fun. Great video, guys!

My question is why does Nintendo stop making new content for Splatoon so soon into the games life. Splatoon and Splatoon 2 both stopped receiving content only about 2 years into the games life when other competitive shooters that have come out several years ago still get new content and balance patches to this day. The partiality is especially visible when compared to how frequently Nintendo adds new content to smash games.

Splatoon was the first competitive shooting game I have ever played online seriously. Started playing back in 2016 and my love for the game grew with Splatoon 2. Because of college, I've been off-and-on with the game recently, but I definitely want to break into content creation and the competitive scene for this game very soon. Splatoon 2 is the best!

one thing I absolutely hate about when people explain what splatoon is, they totally underestimate it. They think its some fun party shooter meant for kids but it's not, nor is it paint that the cephalopods are shooting. Its INK okay. there squids, what do you think they shoot

as a competitive player, this was a really cool watch! new teams are always on the rise and the community is awesome, even having lots of support for lower level teams like mine.

Thank you so much for covering this wonderful game. I think it's one of the most underrated tight knit communities I've ever experienced and for the comp side wich I hold so dearly to get to have the stage for 17 minutes makes my day.

I'm been binging some of these documentaries, and I'm really interested with these not so prominent competitive scenes making it big in eSports. I'm hoping that they become big enough, to the point that the usual MOBAs, shooters, and fighting games aren't the only kinds of games that are brought up during the conversation of Esports. It would also be nice if Smash Bros. wasn't the only Nintendo property that people discuss the competitive scene of. It would make things less saturated, and overall bring new energy and fun into the mix.

What i love about splatoon is that it grabs the idea of a shooter, you know, blood, cursing, etc, and just throws that out the window. Its a completely new idea. A world athat feels real and fun fact: the soundtrack is connonical. In other words, if you live in the games world, you could access the music. Its also diagetic. In other words, if you lived in the games world, youd hear the music that you would hear when playing. Its also really good music. You listen to fly octo fly and tell me its not amazing.

This is, without a doubt in my mind, my favorite "shooter" of all time. I wish my friends looked at it's colorful graphics with joy instead of seeing it as a game for children. Me and my girlfriend are still the only people i've encountered in real life that ever played this game, and we both love it.

I never got to play splatoon 2 because I don’t own a switch but I used to play the first one for a year straight on the wii u and it was amazing
