The Eternal Life of Goldman | Announcement Trailer 

That's the third game with amazing hand-drawn 2D animation that i recently learnt of, the other two being Blud and Cookie Cutter. Blud's a kinda beat-em-up adventure of a young girl fighting vampires, made largely by a very experienced animation studio, and Cookie Cutter is a sci-fi/cyberpunk metroidvania where the creator essentially put the culmination of his tastes in media, comic books, cartoons, music and the like into a playable form. Solid game and therés more planned! Either way: looking forward to what Mr. Goldman has to offer. This looks fantastic, let's hope the story and gameplay can deliver too.

I didn’t imagine it. I thought those days were good, but I think this is a step back for the industry. I would much rather appreciate a genuine contribution out of the new generation rather than a worship and rehash of what mine did.

Idk if an average person could do a game like this right here 🙈 it's like saying an average person could skateboard like tony hawk nowadays, just because social media only shows the great ones. This game clearly has some great animations that are handmade.

Be sure to look up Blud and Cookie Cutter as well, they were likewise animated with hand-drawn 2D. Blud's alright in terms of gameplay, it's the world, writing, characters and story that make it worth looking up. Cookie Cutter is much smoother as an actual game and interesting in setting too, though tends to be a bit out-there/divisive in terms of tone. But it doesn't purely treat itself as a joke either. It's the lead dev's proverbial baby and he is currently working on more, in story and gameplay alike. Plus, he regularly asks for criticism to try and make the game as technically solid as it can be. Let's spread word on all three of these games. Visuals like these deserve to be more known. (i'm looking forwards to Forgotlings too)

That's the main question yes The game could be the prettiest thing ever and still terrible if the gameplay was between boring and bad.

Until I saw the editor, I thought "hmm, this looks a lot like the "ubi-art engine" of the last Rayman, Child of Light and Valiant Hearts"
