My Aunt Denise (My Grandmothers sister) passed away the same way about 15 years ago on April 21,2003.She had a long struggle with diabetes and kidney failure.I remember it was shortly after an Easter Service at church and we knew the time was coming and we surrounded her bedside and before she died she saw Angels in the room and a few minutes later she was gone.It's comforting to know that she's not hurting anymore and that she made it to Heaven and has been united with her son,two grandchildren,,parents, grandparents,and sister.It's been my hope to one day see her and the rest of them in Heaven.

This always makes me think of my grandmother. She passed away in 2018. I can’t tell you how it broke my heart. My grandparents raised me and I think God for them. I think God that I was able to have them in my later years. They Taught me everything valuable in life. They showed me the way to live a good life. I love you so much Nanny and I miss you so much... I know you’re in a better place now. You’re always in my heart...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I felt bad for all of them but with Tommy, I don’t know like I knew he was unruly and difficult, but with his parents fighting and the struggles they faced, I kinda get why he acted the way he did. Like he always try to be the tough guy and he also tried to be strong for Teddy and Melanie.

I read somewhere that Shirley MacLaine really wanted her character to eind in a trilogy, but that didn't happen. The one quote that sticks in my mind is the one that Rosie (the longtime maid as played by Marion Ross) utters: "You don't know what it's like, to be my age, and not having someone say "I love you." (I'm paraphrasing, but it's something that all too many people are familiar with.) I would be curious to see what the youngest cast members of "Terms of Endearment" look like now. I guess they're not really part of the business anymore.

My father was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer in 2009. A year later, he had surgery and was declared cancer free. In 2012, he was informed that the cancer was still there. In September of 2013, he passed away in the living room in a hospital bed brought in for him. My mom said he looked at her and then he was gone.

Mom’s looking over us. Four years ago Jan.28, 2017, she joined the heavenly angels in Jesus’ presence... Her last words, “I love you all so dearly” were 4 days earlier... Two of six offspring had not yet arrived to her bedside. Love you, Mom and Dad.

It happens to those we love when they get older. They can be healthy until the littlest thing takes a massive toll on their body. In October of 2009, my grandmother got a diagnosis for a lymphatic disorder, she passed away December 26th the same year. It was hard to watch her go from a strong independent woman to being so frail in such a short time.

I understand why this scene is moving to people. Shirley MacLaine is always good, and many of us have played out scenes like it from our own lives. But, I'm not sure I love this as the end of Aroura Greenway, from Terms of Endearment. It is beautiful that her final thought is of her daughter, and her daughter's love. I don't know. Maybe Emma's death changed her, made her more vulnerable.

Does anyone know the name of the music playing in the opening scenes please?
@TheChristianaut
@TheChristianaut 4 года назад
It's just called "Main Title" on the William Ross soundtrack. It is a variation of Michael Gore's ending credits music from "Terms of Endearment," with different timing and orchestrations, as well as the addition of Ross' "Evening Star" theme, but basically, the same piece of music. I always thought it was a brilliant way to link the two movies, and Ross' version really shines over the original.

I think the real reason why the critics didn’t like the movie was the decaying of the family foundation brought by the death of Emma at a young age so she couldn’t mother her three children as much as she could have done if she didn’t have cancer. Tommy’s emotional problems lead to his career in crime. And Melanie didn’t fare any better than her eldest brother. Even Audrey Greenway struggled to try to keep the family from falling apart due to the challenges of old age.

Tommy had issues and problems long before Emma got Cancer. Flap and Emma had a bad marriage and Tommy blamed his mother for it.

This sequel is very disappointing, can't hold up against the original at all. Casting was decent with the kids and replacing the actress who played Rosie in the original with Marion Ross was also good. But the Patsy character re-cast was silly and the plot just took to many ridiculous turns. Garrett's brief cameo was great if too short. But no Jeff Daniels? Hurt the movie IMO. Still, it had it's moments (like this last one). But it just fell short of being a good movie.
