fun fact: there is a town in mexico where coke is literally cheaper than water. as a result, it kinda became a symbol of their town, with their residents drinking an average of 2 liters per day
I’ve met people who drink only soda and not water, it’s absolutely insane. Even when I do have a soda, I need a water as well because I don’t feel hydrated by high fructose corn syrup.
I stopped drinking soda after this video came out. It’s been a while. I now can’t drink it anymore without cringing at the sheer sweetness. I also lost 15kg!
when I was a kid I've had unbelievable brand loyalty towards Pepsi. the reason wasn't even all the advertising for children thing, it was because one time i read the small text on the label and realized that Pepsi was basically made in my city. i then just always bought Pepsi instead of Coke because I saw it as me supporting the local economy
As someone who worked at Burger King during high school, it was horrifying to see people drink a 32 ounce cup of soda with every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food may be unhealthy sure, but what scares me the most is the shear amount of sugar they were bombarding their body with. Every time I made and gave customers their drinks, I felt like I played a part in helping spread the diabetic epidemic we have in the US. Thankfully during my time there I never once drank sugary drinks since I stopped back when I was 13.
Wish someone told my mother this in the 90's. Its great fun being T2 Diabetic before you turn 15 "because that was the only way I could get you to drink anything".
