They changed the design of the Hawaiian shirts every few years. In 2003, he had a Yellow Hawaiian flower shirt. In 2006 or 2007 he had a green Hawaiian with multicolored flowers. In 2010 or 2011, he had a hot pink Hawaiian flower shirt. And finally in 2015, he had a bright red Hawaiian flower shirt.

I love broadway genie. I saw aladdin in NYC the week that Robin Williams died and the Genie came out before the show to do a moment of silence for Robin Williams. It was very heartfelt. He was such a great actor!

Genie is the only character that can meet himself, despite Disney’s character policy of never having the same character out at the same time. Disney could literally make an event where all the characters are replaced by Disney and no one would think the Magic was broken.

I loved James Monroe Iglehart as Genie. I saw the broadway production about 6-months to a year before the original cast left and I think he did an amazing job. He's just as good as Robin Williams to me.

All those smiling genies in that world in ice poster is nightmare fuel lol I didn't notice the masks in that one stage show until you brought them up. Wow the Broadway show really does look amazing! James Monroe Iglehart should have been Genie in the live-action remake. He did for the stage what Robin Williams did for the screen. Well, either him or Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias.

My parents love telling the story of when I was two & we were at an Aladdin Character dining thing at MGM. I was keeping my eye on Jafar at the far end of the table, and when Genie popped out of nowhere behind me I just disappeared.

I’ve actually met James Monroe. He was the original genie on Broadway. He also played Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson and Hamilton, which is where i met him.

Even I love Genie from Aladdin. He is one HECK of a lot of fun for you to be having and even though Robin Williams disappeared into a star is he remembered as the kind of our wish granting guy who broke the record in making possible the magic of our favorite genie who can shift shape, replicate, transport, and most of all, still make us smile today. rw:here are some disney facts about genie disney dan: 1.The Genie was designed to look like a living cloud of smoke. 2.In a Deleted concept from Aladdin it was revealed that the peddler is actually the Genie in disguise. 3.Many of the Genie's lines were improvised by voice actor Robin Williams. 4.The Genies Lamp can be seen in Mama Odie's houseboat in The Princess and the Frog.^_^

The Genie wouldn't exist the way he does if the animation legend Eric Goldberg hadn't taken it upon himself to animate that test of the character set to the stand up of Robin Williams. Williams didn't want to do it until he was shown the animation test done by Mr. Goldberg and finally agreed, with a few stipulations, to voice the now iconic character! :D

I still remember seeing the Aladdin show in Disneyland in 2013- it was the DAY after the Super Bowl blackout and the genie managed to throw in a joke about it- it was legendary

Robbin williams is why the Genie was the favorite and why Will Smith could never compete. Robin was energy, he put everything into the act, he had excitement and knew how to nail it home. He brought the character alive in every fantastic way you can imagine. Then you have Will who never had that energy or showmanship, he just kind of goes through the motions and where there should be energy and excitement you get this kind of flat almost monotone vibe from his show.

simba has never been a meet and greet character ever, the only lion king characters that are in the parks are timon, rafiki, and shenzi, banzai, and ed (the hyenas), with the last characters mentioned being the rarest of them come to think of it, genie is quite rare here at disney world, but not as rare as jafar and the sultan especially. still hoping simba debuts as a meet and greet soon hopefully during the 50th of wdw along with every other single character returning.

At the Aladdin theatre show the carpet got stuck on 2 seperate occasions and we had to exit because they needed a team to get them down. It was great.

I remember loving doing meet and greets when I was little intel Genie. For some reason I was scared of him! It didn't help that right before he came out he was poking his head out behind a curtain kinda creepily.

I saw James Monroe Iglehart as Genie when the Aladdin musical did a trial run in Toronto before heading to Broadway (there actually were minor changes made to the musical structure from when I saw it and the finalized version on Broadway). But he is a delight to watch take on the role! He was a major side character in the Tangled tv series which is stuffed with notable Broadway talent has a critically underrated soundtrack. Alan Menken finally got EGOT status from this show though. Iglehart plays Eugene's old friend & thieving partner from the orphanage, Lance. He gets a couple fun & energizing numbers on the soundtrack including an acid sequence number with Eugene lol.

Have you ever seen the Starkid musical Twisted? It's like Wicked for Aladdin where it's from Jafar's perspective and he's the good guy. Full of Disney references, it has a very unique genie interpretation

Broadway Genie has my favourite costume of anything ever. They make a teddy bear version in the costume you can purchase at the show. I bought it before the show even began because it’s just such a beautiful look.

that bouncehouse genie is (imo) the best one since the animation team in the film emphasized line over form. So the odd inflation and whatnot really fits in with the bouncy nature of the animation. XD ... also it's just funny to look at!
