All I can say thank you to Suzuki for actually licensing them this car back in the game, It's just purely one of those memorable vehicles in the GT series.
Japanese car makers are proud to license the dankest cars they could come up with. Unlike US manufacturers who are so ashamed of 99% of what they produce they only license the same tired old muscle cars from late 60s.
@@edwardnewgate2869 Not even late 90s and early 2000s le mans cars, honestly disappointed Gran turismo isn't the same without all those and the GT1 cars
back when technology just kept leaping forward and forward and kept blowing your mind. grateful to have lived the 90s to 10s era. feels like nothing has changed in the last decade in comparison.
Ps1 v PS2, this was a huge jump in technology. Similar to the master system and mega drive (genesis). The jump from MS/genesis to PS/Saturn had the Sega CD which came between them. Nowadays they all look fairly similar between consoles.
My dad had Gran Turismo two before Gran Turismo three came out in 2001. A friend loaned it to him, and that’s how we discover the franchise. I have very little memory of him playing the game, but I think I remember him driving a car on Tahiti Road. Gran Turismo 3 will always be the GOAT in my opinion, but I remember picking up my own copy of GT2 in 2014. The graphical leap between the two of those games is shocking, but both games are absolutely incredible!
@@test-tl8dt If you haven't tried it yet, try VR? Playing Resident Evil 7 in VR and on the TV is a completely different experience even though it's the same game. To me that's the biggest jump we've ever had in gaming. You can't really understand how great VR is until you try it.
Wish we had such open maps with crazy verticality like that gt6 map on gt7. Especially with the new graphics and all the scenery would look beautiful. And there’s a huge lack of verticality on tracks in gt7, not enough continuous ups and downs that look scary to drive down. You never feel like your plummeting down a steep road, just going at a slight decline no matter how intense the real life counter part is. But that gt6 map looks insane, and actually scary to drive fast on.
Yep fastest car in gran turismo 3 if you buy the third and fourth stage turbo kits and change the final gear all the way to the left the car can go up to 278mph it will dominate the like the wind championship in the professional league that needs the super license to get it 20 laps on the test course
The sound of the Escudo from the first game is still the best.. to you, its driver, is the stuff of legends.. to your opponens, its the source of nightmares
the escudo went from the most overpowered car in gt2 to the most overpowered like the wind car in gt3 to being the funniest fail car in gt4 (seriously, use the secret settings option to to make it so that the opponents are from your favorites list, and make the escudo the only favorite, the ai genuinely cannot control the car)
love all of the GT series of course, but when i look at 8:13 - 8:19 i think the jump physics were better in earlier versions compared to GT7 honestly (not the suspension physics but only jump). My personal favorite is GT4 in that aspect. Look how much smoother it is from 4:54 to 5:00
GT4 was a masterpiece! Can’t believe how good it still looks and it was on the PS2! Still holds up as a great game to play. GT2 and GT4 really were the benchmarks. It always seemed to be that the first GT on a console generation was the tester then the second would max out the capabilities of the console. Hopefully GT8 will do the same which explains why GT7 is still sort of lacking.
Somehow GT4 has aged less than any other GT game. GT5 looks a bit jagged, GT6 looks flag, and GT1-3 are just old games. Ironically the reflections in the emulated GT4 in this video looked better than in GT5 and GT6, and the track was more detailed too.
The exhaust sound makes me remember about that Bosozoku motorcycle exhaust contest. And man, could you look up to the tachometer that almost upside down. And yes, this always been a mascot and OP car for me.
Who knew that that weird hatchback looking thing that sounds like its been modded to the gills with everything in the book, could give us so much enjoyment 😂 this car felt like it literally had glue on its tires 🤣
I always thought the rear end of the car resembled that of a pig’s. GT2’s rendition of the car made it look wide and agressive. That said, it’s legit so weird seeing the car in high fidelity. Goddamn.
Great content, but i think that the Escudo Pikes Peak version was only featured in GT2, GT3, and GT7, but for all other GT titles they featured the Escudo Dirt Trial Version, I honestly liked the Pikes Peak version.
@@MBearr1221 The car is just like that And the car doesn't go out of control if you don't shift properly, you just lose power if the gear is long and the line is before 6k RPM
I said this on Calem's upload so saying it again: I've been told the GT2 version was actually the 1999 version with parts from the 1998 and 1996 car. (Disclosure: GT Wiki mod - just merged the pages of the GT2 and GT3+ versions)
@@AKK5I the smoke on tires should gradually appear... not like this. it literally looks like the smoke textures dont have any alpha transparency at all. GTSPORT did this better.
@@hansolo631 There are mixed 3D and 2D crowds. The 3D are usually in the front or closer to tracks and they are also animated; watch at the start of GT4 section in the video. Some have better details like running cameramen.
Front splitter and rear wing are enormous so that they can still generate high downforce at high altitude, where the air is thinner. This is why most cars competing at Pikes Peak have big wings.
La suzuki escudo ma voiture fétiche même si elle est très puissante et difficile à maîtriser je n'hésite pas à modifier les réglages juste au niveau de l'adhérence c'est largement suffisant
Man I don't know. Something about the look, sound and feel of GT2 is more appealing. Probably just reminiscent of when I first bought that game. It was so good.
just cant believe this was actual rally car back then. childhood me beating 99 laps and regular category with just this car , if u had 2m to buy this car and escudo will made you auto rich 😂
Anyone else miss how diverse grand turismo 5 was?!? Karts, Nascar, drifting, oh and the rally campaign of course, I suppose f1 if that's your thing. The game had a ton to it!! I wouldn't be against a rally or formula drift dlc later on. Yay or nay?
The video is about the Escudo which is a pikes peak car. Also the actual pikes peak hillclimb (at least a very tiny portion of it) is in GT2, the first clip
