I guess I agree, but this soldier, just simply being able to reveal where he fell, with those dog tags, and then potentially hopefully sending him home for burial is his story that is finally being told. One can fill in the blanks with his service record, and knowing where he fell and where he lies today is as much as any of us can really hope for our story to be after we're gone. I truly think it's a great service repatriating these remains back home, and providing closure. I don't care if they make money off the materials, they're welcome to it, for doing the work they do, that's all secretary to these men having some kind of proper place for them to lie and history recording it.

They families later find them in other world, maybe 30-40 years later . Its pity and sorrow for their parents because thy are also someone children's, but that children's knows where they goes and with reason, to kill some other children. I don't tell how dey are bad persons individually, and how dey not give's some candies to the children's-or burn some children in house , just they are fully grow person over 18 years old and they come voluntary to risk their life and to make victory or die . Dude, these guys are looters who spend their time digging someone's land to find WWII artifacts to later sell and make huge profits. The destiny of the human remains is completely unknown. The bodies (or the bones) don't have names on them. Do you really think they'll try to find their families (if they really have it, because most of them were young and never got kids)?

@@carlosamaral6917 - With respect Carlos, I don’t think that is the case here. I have watched enough of these videos to recognise the looters, and there are many I agree. These guys are on a mission to find the lost troops of both sides. A good indicator is their willingness to show there faces on camera, and the care they are taking with the remains. I have no idea what they do with the remains, but as I said, I hope they report them to authorities so they can be recognised and have a decent burial. They may keep the artefacts, but we will never know of course. Just my observation and opinion, and of course I could be wrong. But I hope not!

I would tend to think that most of the German troops, especially the SS troops were enthusiastic participants. Remember, they were indoctrinated to believe bolshevism was a danger to them and they wanted to remove that perceived threat. Also, when they were ordered to invade the Soviet Union they had not suffered any significant military set backs, apart from the battle of Britain, up to that point. After the Soviets gained the upper hand, they believed they were fighting for the survival of Germany itself.

The SS were the ones responsible for the worst atrocities. That's BS

@Kanda 2021 I understand what u are saying but they were in the teens/early 20s mostly & fell for the propaganda, when I joined the British army way back in 1990 “left in 2014” just a week after my 17th bday I was posted to Germany just at the end of the 1st Cold War (assuming this to b the 2nd that we r now in) found the Germans to be just like us, my wife is actually from east Germany & grew up in communism, they were totally programmed by radio & tv 24/7. They thought that we were all child murders & if WE ever attacked them that we would rape n pillage plus they were fed a totally alternate ending to WW2, now back when I was 17 I’m sure I would of thought they the west were the evil side n that I was fighting for the right reasons. Obviously once u grow up u get to see past most propaganda but I believe that the Germans at fighting age in WW2 died believing they were fighting to make Germany great again & all that all the sanctions n rules pushed on them since the treaty of Versailles were unfair, starving the poor & the fact they lost more than half of the land mass that the original German ppl had n all they were doing was to take it back when they attacked Poland which a huge part used to be part of the German empire n that was the first thing Hitler did was to move in on Poland. It’s all relative & I’m sure most deep down where good ppl n the war is over now, they paid the highest of prices so yeah I believe that to rest in peace ✌️ is something not only applicable to the allied side.

The Germans brutally murdered millions of jews. In the most inhumane ways possible. I will not have a sorrow feeling in my body for people who took part or agreed with that such treatment to a human being. People act like this happened 100s of years ago. There were people during this time that have recently just passed and some perhaps still living to this day

If the retreating Germans had hastily buried them then they would have snapped off the lower half of the Erkennungsmarke (ID tag.) they were more than likely covered over by explosions or the enemy.

I always get the impression they’re in foxholes or dug in, and that’s why theyre so deep in the ground. Most probably died in the foxholes and then got plowed over

There was so much ammo going around at certain points in the war I’m not surprised. And someone with the same caliber gun would need to be the one who found it

...when you’re in headlong retreat, there's no time- and if there's no way to transport the stuff, about the best you can do is bury the stuff so the enemy doesn't find it-(!)
