I can tell Nate feels comfortable with Megan. Nate said he doesn't like being interviewed because they start to instigate and make him carry a negative image of a bad guy. He is socially awkward not stupid.
I agree you can clearly see in any of his interviews he is a little socially awkward but I feel like if he just slowed down his speech just a little bit he wouldn't get too overwhelmed
joanna jedrzejczyk it's because he's in a good mood. Most of his interviews are right before his fights when he's cutting weight and getting prepared. He's like this on almost all his interviews where he isn't about to fight.
Right. Exactly. Good stuff, energy, spirit, karma. Shit trickles down and gets reciprocated. And in this case, it starts with these brothers and their love, respect, honor, etc. There relationship, integrity. However much I might be off with what I said, if at all, I know without a doubt, I'm atleast hinting at the truth. I might be next to insignificant in relationship to them, but I'm not completely insignificant. Eh...it's just good stuff, even if nothing else, it's good to be a witness to.
I don't really think you can say "humble", he's just a normal guy, with a lot of energy, likeable, with a fighter's heart and a chip on his shoulder because of his upbringing and a lot of the negative element that has surrounded him all his life. But I wouldn't use the word humble....
Idiots talking about his speech, he and his brother suffer from social anxiety which effects the way the talk and act, Nick explained they don't like media they just want to train and fight.
WTF are you talking about? The MMA fighter known for shit talking & making a spectacle suffers from social anxiety? Do you even know what social anxiety is?
Megan Olivii Killed this interview.... She brought out the admirable and lovable side of Nate.... Always liked him but this interview made me an even bigger fan
Manuel Cojocaru Such a cool ass dude. I met Nick too right after his loss to GSP less than 4hours later and he was in a bad mood with a black eye but still cool af and showed his fan some love. They’re real MuFu’s Gotta love em. I know I do.
That was a revealing interview. Megan did a great job of getting Nate to open up and tell us who he really is. Nate comes across as a really good dude. Totally different than how the media portrays the Diaz Brothers. Nate & Nick are incredibly disciplined. I'm impressed that Nate & Nick can switch back and forth between UFC Fights and "Extreme" Triathlons". Sounds like Nick was an awesome Big Brother to Nate. These guys are hardcore "Natural Born Fighters". Most of us who grew up in Tough Neighborhoods knew guys like the Diaz Brothers. Conor best be ready.
I think you're over simplifying it. he doesn't enjoy the spotlight, and doesn't like being insulted and ridiculed just to hype up a fight. he's a much more direct person than that, and I think you're misunderstanding his dislike of media exposure as a hard man routine.
I like them both I know McGregor has a mouth on him but these two are always ready to fight no excuses. should be a great fight I can't wait. I'm a neutral Nate deserved that win but I think Conar will win this fight and we'll be treated to a trilogy fight to come after McGregor goes back down to 145 he's going to have to fight Aldo after Nate definitely.
that's one of my goals in life , before I die I would love to shake Nate Diaz hand and meet the man who choked out the loud mouth McGregor. Nate Diaz has the heart of a true champion and gives me motivation in life not to ever give up no matter how many time life knocks you down , get up and fight like Nate Diaz toe to toe ,
+GodBlessNYC The diet was responsible? 😂😂 Nothing too do with his BJJ black belt and great boxing? I didn't realize eating plants = instant badass 😂 you a McNugget casual? 😂he said he also eats fish and eggs? Since when do vegans do that? 😂 I bet you do crossfit too 😂
+Godo Rewatch the interview. He's on a raw vegan diet for his fight preparation. Meaning that he realizes the vegan diet is superior and to be in the best shape, he goes vegan. And it might not be the reason but definitely a contributing factor for his win as he has energy for days, unlike paleo Conor.
+a VEGAN [McGregor's Kryptonite] I watched at and have know that for years, I'm just saying he's strictly not a vegan due to the fact that he eats fish and eggs. Or am I incorrect in saying that vegans do not eat any animal products?
+Jay Pal Absolutely. Conor is the man. Of course i'm a fan.. Like the majority. Diaz is cool too but these casual Diaz fans have their heads up there ass.
Their videos are complete polar opposite of each other, Conor's are intense, full of hype, arrogance, trash talk, showing off how he will do this do that training with this guy and that guy that supposed to be a great in boxing and grappling etc. while Nate's is just chill with a side of cursing every once in a while, humble stories about his life and more of a cameo training.
Nate's not the most eloquent guy in the world but he's easy to understand. I don't get the "we need subtitles" people. Unless you're just trolling, then continue on.
Nick is actually a nice guy from the last few videos i watched. The UFC puts Nate out there in these little videos, usually subtitled swearing and flipping the cameras off. Good to see him get some spotlight. Fighters like the Diaz brothers made this sport exciting. About time he started to make some good money.
Kebawo a bandwagon jumps off when their fighter loses and moves onto the next big thing, I'm not doing that I've been supporting conor since he joined the ufc in 2013 so don't try call me a bandwagon
the thing is, Nate is the real thing, an honest guy a hard working fighter and for whatever reason he doesnt have the glitz and glamour that mcgregor has, so i expect Nate to come hard an put on a great fight again, i hope he knocks out mcgregor!
I love Nate Diaz; He might not be school educated, but, he is a smart man who understands alot about himself, the fight game, and life in general. He is the single most underrated, feared fighter in UFC history, and, I would always want the Diaz brothers in my corner.
How anyone can dislike Nate is beyond me cuz he literally is the coolest nicest guy if u get to know him and kinda reminds me of Merle’s little brother Daryl lol
If you have the financial stability, vegan is the best choice. You'll have to study up on the nutritional value of all the foods you are going to eat but it's worth it in the end. I went 6 months nothing but veggies. I felt amazing but I wasn't keeping track of what I was eating, I was just throwing it all together. I lost a lot of muscle mass. Found out later that it can be costly too. Be prepared and you should have no problems.
Definitely worth doing your research, yes. But it's definitely an affordable lifestyle. I've been vegan myself for 2 years now and I make less than 20k a year for the last 2 years. Things like organic food and pre-packaged foods are considerably more expensive, yes, but staples like beans, rice, most veggies, pasta, bread, etc are very affordable. I went from meat and dairy for 28 years to cutting it all out. It's tough at first but it gets easier and as your health increases, it's kind of a selling point. I was in really poor health as a meat eater. Not saying you can't be a healthy meat eater but for me it was easier to kick that all out of my diet. Good luck to you and anyone that gives it a shot.
This is the most relaxed I have ever seen Nate. I love the guy. He has a little bit of everyone in his personality. She made a great interview with him.
The Diaz brother's are truly inspirational. They are proof that it really doesn't matter your up-bringing. If you put your mind to something, you can conquer it!
*Conor fan here.* I think it's really cool the way Nate talks about his relationship with his brother Nick. Nate's a real stand-up guy and just like anybody else. Even though I'm a fan of Conor's, Nate is just as cool and I could honestly see the two kicking back a couple beers after their careers are done. I love how this rivalry came about, it's one for the ages.
When Nate fought Johnson ranked 5th at that time,Nate came in the fight with Best shape ever and he took Johnson apart with his boxing,if he shows up like that and the reach he has on Conor,it would be very tough for Conor to contain him.Chances of Conor are very slim unless he Knocks him out in first 2 rounds which i highly Doubt My prediction nate Via Unanimous decision.
So unique how he's all about the "money fights" now, yet, he appears to be one of the most unmaterialistc people in the game. He dresses modestly, besides talk about money fights - he actually doesn't mention anything else about riches, he doesn't crave certain foods that many probably would, his hobbies are purely just training - triathlons etc. A lot of heart from this guy, and he doesn't really want anything but to fight. He doesn't even care about the belt.
I cant explain it Nate Diaz is a different kind of humble, "I'm better than everybody, but you can always get beat" Great job by their mom. I've never seen two brothers who love each other so much. I sure wouldn't disrespect their sister....that would not end well. Love the triathlon stuff. Life is being lived by Nate and Nick
DIAZ won the second fight. This is all set up because Diaz is right. Connor is the mouth & Nate VS Connor 3 should happen. Platinum respect for Diaz. Train, breath & represent.
I like both these guys and I'm happy for Nate to get all the attention he's received lately. But I'd be happy with whoever wins...I just hope its a war.
No brothers like the Diaz Brothers ! Plus, if it would have been a street fight, Connor would have died that night and nobody would have been talking...
Aww this was so AWESOME!!I was already a longtime XXtreme Diaz Devotee but this makes me just love them even More!! I have to say i have never enjoyed a fighters interview more..great job Megan and mad love for Mate and Nick Diaz!! They have ALL the 💙!!
:) u mentioned my friend,Buakaw. we were just talkin bout why ufc dont wanna take pro muay thai fighters frm thailand into d cage..dont understand why. we got too many fighters here..all just training n waiting...
+Romel Noviriska I imagine their lack of wrestling and jiu jitsu would lead to them getting destroyed on the ground in round 1 constantly. ufc only has limited roster spots. same reason they haven't taken top class bjj guys, because they can't strike and would get knocked out. need to be competent in all elements nowadays
Nick and Nate Diaz on my favorite to UFC fighters I just love the way they present themselves... come on Dana you got Nate back in there after 3 years the fans want to see Nick in their next pay him some money and get him in the ring
Unless you have a big brother it’s sometimes difficult for people to understand that bond.....a big brother is there for you always, he has your back every time, he encourages and supports and guides you, I have the utmost respect for those guys, yea, they can be rough, not polished...but they are loyal to the end, and jealousy and envy doesn’t exist between brothers.
When you compare the personality of these 2, one is (mostly) a vegan, loves triathlon for the sake of seeing the beautiful sights etc. while the other loves Bentleys, ridiculously expensive clothes and all sorts of other stupid bling shit, I think it tells a lot about their fan base as well.
Nick is not into bling and infact he got Nate to do triathlons he got Nate to do everything. He was training and doing triathlons way before his little brother. Why do people talk trash when they do not know what they are talking about? If this was about Conor it makes a bit more sense but I have seen so many false comments here about Nick vs Nate it is driving me nuts.
Great interview. MMA came along at the perfect time for quite a lot of young men. Now a lot of these kids are hybrids when it comes to disciplines. Straight up badasses. Can’t imagine just ten years from now how much better they will be. The sport just never quits evolving.
