Apparently this was shot like five years ago and got shut down over Covid. It was almost believed to be abandoned, but hey, that OTHER Russell Crowe exorcism movie was a hit so they drudged this up and slapped it together for a release.
The best part of this movie was that a fight nearly broke out in my movie theater because one lady was texting her granddaughter and the lady behind her asked to turn off her phone and so for the first 10 minutes of the movie there was a shouting match going on. It stopped and as the movie kept going I was begging for a fight to break out again because that was more interesting than the movie
I remember reading that this was shot in 2019 plus one of the listed directors is Jason Millers son the star of the orginal exorcist and Legion so from what Brad is saying I think the studio took the movie and reshoot it to try and make it more conventional and to cash on the Popes Exorcist success.
You neglected to mention this was filmed way back in 2019, but sat on the shelf for the past half decade. Who knows how many re-edits it had in that time, or what it was originally even intended to look like.
please consider reviewing the chicken chronicles (1977) and the first time (1981 or 83; depending upon your source). the plot to the first time (1981 or 1983) : "A young film student pursues a woman while studying under a bizarre, eccentric film professor." i can't help but think the first time was a student film; in several of the outside scenes you can hear an echo. wallace shawn plays the professor. there are several other films also entitled the first time.
"Hey David, you wanna be in my Excorcism movie?" "Hmmm, maybe?" "Hey david, you wanna be in the Fraiser reboot?!" "...NOPE, gotta go make an Exorcism movie!"
I never even heard of the movie until reviews started to pop in my feed this morning. Apparently it has good points but all said it's not very good at the final act that ruins the movie.
Yeah about late night with the devil the director confirmed they hired A.I. 🤢🤮 and "the exorcism" looks not scary and boring that it's directed by Joshua Miller who's also an actor in Halloween 3 and Near Dark and the son of Jason Miller from The exorcist and exorcist 3
