Eh, I'm still gonna see it, even if it's probably bad. I have the AMC free ticket monthly membership, and I may as well watch it just once. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised since our expectations are lower.
The first trailer looked absolutely horrible. The exorcist is regarded not only as one of the best horror movies of all time, but it can be considered one of the best movies. William Friedken who came from documentaries directed it almost like a doc. He also became best friends with the author, William Peter Blatty and they went back and forth and created a masterpiece. The only other good movie in the franchise is Exorcist 3, written and directed by Blatty, the author based on his book legion. I’m going to go see this one, but it’s out of obligation and not excitement.
Sean I agree with you and you remind me so much of Dave McCrae, that's a good thing because I'm a subscriber of his channel too, you guys are so awesome with your knowledge of films
Its funny that you mentioned this movie having some humor because a fun fact, before he wrote the screenplay adaptation of his own book, Blatty wrote several comedies. One of which was oddly enough the second installment in Blake Edward's Pink Panther film series which was a Shot in the Dark.
Yeah, it wasn’t surprise Sean didn’t like it. The director didn’t do great with Halloween legacy trilogy. It’s was such and huge disappointed. The same can say about the upcoming The Exorcist movie. The first one is classic and shouldn’t have a franchise.
@@aidanlastname0187 if you think kills is horrendous you either didn't watch the movie or don't know how to have a good time or aren't a fan of Michael Myers ends turned out exactly how it did because of people like you who whined and moaned Michael was to strong and powerful so they butchered him in ends you can't complain about kills and also be mad at ends because it's your fault ends turned out the way it did that's what you wanted so you got it
Dude, I called it after watching what he did to my beloved Halloween! First Jeremy Jahns and now your opinion are basically the same, so... Tells me all I need to know. DGG needs to make a movie with Rian Johnson.
I totally agree. This movie was such a disappointment. I was expecting so much more from this sequel----esp. that trash sequel that came out on the late 70's. It to me was like a teenaged-after school special of a possession movie. As this narrator said----there was no depth or layers to the movie. There are layers to the original I have discovered after watching it over the years. The original is still #1 !
I think everyone thought this was gonna fail from the announcement- he made one good horror movie- Halloween. The next two were financial successes but audience bombs; he should not be leading one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time. The Exorcist Deceiver will be coming out in 2025, and that may be worse than Expend4bles!
People keep seeing his movies! Stop going/streaming/renting/buying this weak repackaging from a guy and his sidekick who are more suited to Pineapple Express than Halloween and The Exorcist!
@@opaque4742 their budget is fairly low and they get enough die hard fans who will go watch the newest film regardless of the quality. It’s all about the IP
The most important elements of the original are faith and family, pretty much in that order. I had zero hopes that Green would actually get either right, but especially the faith aspect, wich is the most important, given that it's a freakin' EXORCIST movie. 🙄
I’ve already never seen a single spiritual horror movie in my life because they’re just not my thing personally, and this reaction just solidified my viewpoint on these types of movies and why I will continue to not watch them
So this is going to be the #3 Exorcist movie by default then. Because the other three Exorcist movies have no redeeming qualities whatsoever, but at least this has some cool moments.
I had bad feeling this would be case. I feel Blumhouse is overrated studio. They did a decent ti good job with their first Halloween but it crashed with Kills and Ends. I really wonder how bad their next 2 Exorcist movies will be to complete their trilogy
And how about no more legacy sequels. Saw X did it perfectly, didn’t erase the sequels and gave the fans what they wanted with jigsaw being the focus. So sick of these sequels just erasing decades worth of movies.
Ok good for y'all that was disappointed in it. But I for enjoyed all the movie as a whole. I mean for real do y'all get paid to nitpick something you didn't create. So if y'all didn't create it y'all don't have anything to say about it.
The Exorcist movie was good for back in the day because most movie sucked back then but there's absolutely no reason for a modern-day Exorcist when you have a billion greater better examples of how to do possession movies
“Most movies sucked back then”. Tell me you haven’t watched much classic movies without telling me you haven’t watched much classic movies. Movies were better back in the 70’s compared to today.
Stop adding comedy to horror films. And to fans, stop giving arguments for its inclusion. Comedy should be completely optional in a horror, if not unexpected
So it was very ecumenist; one-world ALL religions are right AND wrong, like I assumed from the trailer.... If they wanted to make that sort of possession movie, they should have made their own instead of one that already establishes Catholicism as a part of its "lore."
