Thanks for the honest review. I'm a huge Exorcist fan, so was a bit skeptical of this movie. Nothing can top the writing of William Peter Blatty and the directing of Billy Friedkin (RIP to both). Some movie franchises should just be left alone.
That's what makes it so great.. the focus ISN'T the exorcism which the majority of movies like this focus on. I think Emily Rose did a good job at focusing on the trial & characters in that movie, but I can't think of any other possession movie that I've enjoyed.
Yeah, a guy like this is reviewing the film saying 'the mom from the first film' is just piss poor, as much as I can understand some of their review@@anthonygutierrez3716
First hour is slow paced - bear in mind many will enjoy that nowadays as a lot love true crime. Main Dad is a good actor you say, two girls are phenomenal - I mean, many would assess this as a positive review.
The preview had me interested but probably wasn't going to go see it anyway, I was curious on what you thought about it, I'm not that much into horror movies, but mainly the demonic or possession types just aren't my thing, saw the original when I was very young and it just got to me, I'll never watch it again, it was just way ahead of its time, and while I don't watch these type of movies anymore, the original is just an all-time great, I have it in my collection if I ever want to face down my fears, but more so because it'll stand the test of time as one of the best movies ever made. 🤔
I had a feeling that this movie will turn out what I thought it would. Ever since I knew who was directing 😑 I'm coming in with an open mind though. Watching it in a few days!
People always want to Bash to exorcist movies because they’re not like the original no movie is like the original you gotta get that fantasy out of your head I’m watching this movie tomorrow and I’m most likely gonna like it
Also my two cents, I haven’t seen it yet, but If they want to make exorcist sequels, get someone like Eli Roth, or Clive Barker, even James Wan probably would do good, or Darren Lynn Bousman, but David isn’t right for this kind of movie. It needs to at least hold up somewhat to the original, and I think for that to happen they need actual horror movie directors to know what they are doing.
No one will duplicate the success of the original. It was doomed to fail. That's why I don't understand why would you make a trilogy. Doesn't make sense. The original . The third part. Maybe exorcist the beginning and the first season are ok. Toodles.
The Exorcist 1973 was one complete movie. All is contained in the one movie. The Exorcist Believer is a 3 part movie. So basically this is part of a trilogy. They can drag out part one all they want, as there is a part two to come. I have zero faith in this trilogy, but will see it just for sake of seeing it, and just let it stand on its own merit. The trailers for the movie look absolutely hideous. But again, will see the movie for the heck of it to experience it in a theater environment.

Everybody's entitled to their own opinion, Just because one person doesn't like it, doesn't mean everybody has to agree. We all know nothing will beat the original, but it doesn't mean it won't be just as good. Think for yourselves. It looks damn good to me.
Another point - 'I have to give a bad reaction' - the answer is to give a positively slanted review whilst sitting in an illuminated setting. We couldn't see your face in this video, which doesn't make it scary by the way, just dull.
DGG isn’t the right director for this type of film.. this kind of reaction reminds of last year’s Halloween ends very bad in my opinion.. I did in fact had high hopes this will do better.. really sounds disappointing..
If you can separate this from the original, I believe people will be entertained. Of course, it can't match the original nor Exorcist 3, but I think it'll be better than the prequels and especially Heretic. I'll probably still enjoy it.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Everyone that has gone to the premiers have said it’s scary and disturbing. Everyone has different opinions
the original is the greatest horror film ever made i knew this was gonna be a piece of shit this movie i knew when david gordon green would mess this up he sucks
