My condolences to his family and loved ones. Mr. Colmes was irrefutable proof that when networks accused FNC of being biased against liberals, his mere presence alone debunked that claim readily. His debates with Sean Hannity, back when it was Hannity and Colmes were some of the most heated I've seen. He was a gentle person, who would if need be, fight til his dying breath for his beliefs. Rest in peace, sir.
Folks, Alan was always a classy guy. He was a liberal agenda guy but never was a rabid libtard. I never minded him speaking his opposite view. May GOD give the Colmes family peace at this time of sadness. I may have swore at the TV a few times when things got hot, he truly was faithful to his beliefs and was not ignorant to guests, panellist's, or foes. He must have had a heart of GOLD, as he was at times a person who could make you smile even though you disagreed with what he was at times saying. He was not an angry Leftist . He was instead compassionate and sincere . I never agreed with him much , but I have tremendous respect for people who believe in what they say . A decent and good man . May God bless him and his Family .
Although I didn't agree with his political views, I always found Alan Colmes to be a kind and decent person whenever I saw him on tv. He didn't seem to have any malice or aggressiveness when debating someone of a different point-of-view -- prudence, tolerance and self-control are very virtuous qualities that he had in spades -- and in today's political climate those virtues are rarely found. Very sad that he passed at a fairly young age. May his soul be at peace with God.
I respected Mr. Colmes, Even though I though I never remember agreeing with him, he brought a different prospective. I feel he truly believed what he said. If FOX truly wanted to be balanced they would find another Mr. Colmes and do another Hannity & Colmes style program.

I rarely agreed with his views, but he always seemed like an honest, kind person. I liked the way he expressed his views with passion but without vitriol. I liked how he balanced out Hannity and I enjoyed his book "Red, White & Liberal." He will be missed. I pray for his wife along with the many friends, family, and fans that he leaves behind.

Alan Colmes would most likely be horrified what has happened to the Democratic Party. He would still prefer it to Republicans, I think, but I read a couple of his books and he was no far leftist. And from what I’ve heard and read, he was a really decent guy, the kind of guy that used tomalley his country great. Now we have to, what, hate him for being a Democrat? Hate those who disagree with him? Hate him for not being left enough? It wasn’t always like it is now. Here’s to hoping it won’t be like this forever.
Personally, I will miss Alan Colmes. He was a wonderful guy who believes in what he stood for and I liked him for that. Colmes was NOT afraid to take on annoying conservatives like O'Reilly and Hannity on certain issues with class and dignity. For he was one of a kind.
So what have we learned from the comments on Alan Colmes' death? There are a minority of Republicans out there who are "pro-life" when it comes to a fetus that is almost ripe for natal-care indoctrination "Republican-style", but not so much on the "pro-life" when it comes to a man who needlessly dies from cancer, when he could've lived a longer life. Their hypocrisy would be adorable if it wasn't so destructive. Case and point: Henry Kissinger and George H.W. Bush have done more damage and destruction on this planet than anyone else, and they are in their 90s. What did they do to deserve such longevity? Absolutely fucking nothing. Colmes was way to liberal! I'm not sure if he added any value to this world. He created a lot of problems for others. I heard he wasn't that friendly of a guy. When meeting someone new, he would never extend his hand to shake hands with someone.
