I do not recommend leaving the cash drawer open unattended. I have access to the cameras in the office so I wasn’t too worried. Then he ran & I didn’t even think about the open drawer at that point. Luckily the most trustworthy person on the planet, Jeremy from Ken Ganley Kia, was the only other person on the premises.

i have done that in the past, not all that uncommon i dont think. usually if im buying things for myself and another person or for multipul people who will pass me a note each to cover their own goods
I was sitting here thinking that he was actually talking to the camera as he was chasing after the guy, and I can't imagine the fear I would feel if a person chasing me was narrating their every action while doing so.

The gas station is not your bank lol, I was the GM of a restaurant & everytime people try shit like this, they dont realize you have to send someone to the bank to get more bill's if you let this happen all the time. A strict manager would tell him no even if they were real. Pay with the 1 50$ or leave

I’d always love when these clowns came into my old job, we had bill checking machines at each register and anything over a $20 had to be checked so they never won 😂
this is by far the most careless episode of GSE because the thief showed so many obvious red flags like paying a 50 bill for a drink TWICE while having head and mouth all covered from being identify. Since no one else was in the line he could have taken the time to verify the bill before giving changes.

@@CN86443 he was immediately suspicious, hence him holding the first bill up to the light and analyzing it. It was just too good of a counterfeit. When the guy used a separate 50, and not the change he had just received, he was certain and needed time to prove they were counterfeit.

Videos like these are super important to me as i work retail. Its rare i get counterfeit bills but the knowledge here is really resourceful. Great video!
I have made this mistake before. I was relatively new at a pizza place and the manager decided to let me run the place while he ran a delivery. I accidentally ended up accepting a counterfeit $100.

Well its not super uncommon sometimes people just like to break bigger bills so they can spend smaller bills at other establishments that don't accept anything over 20$ bills. But I agree it's a little sus
There can be a legit reason to buy 2 drinks with 2 different 50's. I've done it to break big bills. Sometimes the clerk is not to happy about it . Banks can be complete Aholes about breaking bills if you don't bank with them.

The US needs bank notes like Australias. They have the highest security measures of any currency in the world. The latest version (2016+) have 11 separate security features. They are fascinating and look awesome!

Counterfeiting 50s and 100s is the hardest game there is.. your small timers do 10s and 20s cause they hardly to never get checked and are easy to pass through at bars and gas stations. Counterfeiting any bills is up to 20 years and a fourth degree felony.
Just making it known, not everyone who looks up at the counter when they walk in is a thief. I always look up at the counter when I walk in a gas station in hopes to greet the cashier! Sometimes I see absolutely nobody around but I've never stolen even though I'm poor. It's just against my morals.

Those are some slick fifties for sure. I once had a customer try to pass a literal printer paper counterfeit fiver, and when I called him out on it he asked for it back!
Working in a casino cage, I've seen and handled my share of counterfeits and those 50s were very good compared to the usual fare. I look for the microprinting as well as that's usually pretty hard to duplicate if the counterfeiter is even aware of it. I was shocked those had the strip and the reflective number in the corner.
I have never shop lifted from anywhere but I always look up at the counter when I walk in to say hi. I had no idea that was what most thieves did until I saw these videos. Even knowing that I still do it every time.
Lol same here. I have never nor would I ever shop lift , but I have been indecisive a few times about what I wanted. Sometimes making healthy choices is dam near impossible when the Snickers bar is within reach 😂

Those counterfeits are so good that they are real to 99% of businesses. Most businesses do not have a machine like the one in this video.

thats a good tip. i usually always check the jackets too because i have seen people with fake $50's that check off everything else but this is the first time i seen them successfully fake the textures on his jacket.
Before YT I worked in the gaming industry and once a year Secret Service came to train us on counterfeit bills. Showed us the whole process of washing a bill and making it a $100
The fact that he wanted to pay in two separate transactions with two $50 bills should have been enough to throw up a red flag. I would have checked before I even gave him change.
One thing to note is that the letters A through L will be used on the bills as the second letter in the serial number signifying the federal reserve bank it was shipped to after printing. MP is not possible as there is no federal reserve bank that uses the letter P. Plus it had H1 on the note which is also not possible, it will be from A through L and numbers from 1-12 depending on the letters place in the alphabet. For example A, B2 etc.

Finally was able to confirm my suspicions of this being a certain Gas Station in my hometown while I’m stationed in CA in the Navy. All thanks to Ken Ganley Kia!
