I kind of stand by the idea Sharon is just Sharon. Because her anger is justified. Her family helped build the USA of the MCU, her aunt was involved in the founding of SHIELD and her family helped in the background with secret agent stuff for decades. And what was the crime Sharon committed that had her deemed a criminal to be hunted down and imprisoned? A traitor to the country? She took Cap's shield and gave it back to him...oh my, so traitorous. She gave her life to that country, didn't sell state secrets, didn't free anyone. All she did was return a shield to it's rightful owner, and for that her history was written entirely off? She's not angry at Sam, doesn't hold a grudge against the Avengers. It's the US Government she's out for and it fits the theme of an abandoned veteran the show touched upon multiple times. It's just unlike anyone else, she's holding her anger in and is out for revenge and willing to play the long game.

Sam Wilson is the Captain America we deserve and NEED, especially in these times. His speech to the GRC and the world at the end is honestly one of the single most powerful speeches I have heard in tv or movie history. It is so relevant to the problems we are facing today. And ultimately what makes Sam different from Steve is he wants to solve the problem at the root of its cause, not by fighting first but by talking first and by treating people like Karli not simply as terrorists but as people. People who can be helped if we truly listen. Sam said it perfectly “We can do better.” Also the scene of Sam showing what he did for Isaiah completely broke me down. Old men crying, war veterans crying, and wronged people getting some sense of validation or justice crying can make me shed a few tears. All THREE at the same time!?!? I was helpless.

The Sebastian at the end of FAWS was the Sebastian we met in Captain America. The confident ladies man. I’m so glad they didn’t make Sam say “I can do this all day”. That’s Steve’s line. One of the beauties of Sam’s journey is they allowed him to remain true to himself and he never mimic Steve’s words or actions. I’m on the fence about Loki. It looks silly but I will probably give it a try. I’ll probably binge watch it a day or two before it’s finale.

FAWS and WandaVision are so different, I don’t feel one was better than another. My interest and what I liked about each one was completely different. The endings and my expectations for their storylines in upcoming movie are also pleasantly different. I was excited about Loki’s show until I saw the trailer. When I saw the last trailer (Owens & Middleton’s banter) it didn’t give me the “I can’t wait to see it” vibe at all. As a matter of fact it gave me the “binge watch it” vibe (versus week to week viewing). Loki appears completely different than FAWS and WandaVision. I think that’s awesome Marvel tv shows are going after completely different new audiences members.

The writer confirmed that Sam's family is Bucky's family now and its amazing. Also confirmed he is no longer the Winter Soldier, and we may not see him as the Winter Soldier anymore, we just haven't seen it be made official yet. So something is coming regarding that. And Sharon is a skrull, I'm sure. If she's not, Armor Wars will for sure have her in it.

I have no theories because I don't know anything, but I did just want to say thank you to the three of you! I stumbled across this channel during WandaVision. Again, just thank you for bringing the MCU into focus for me; because of you all, I see it as something beautifully cohesive, complex, and far more exciting!

A lot of talk with the Skrulls as the antagonists in the Secret Invasion storyline, but the MCU changed the Skrull vs Kree dynamics with Captain Marvel. The Skrulls were the refugees and the Kree were the aggressors. Therefore, the secret invasion may be a Secret Kree Invasion. ‘Kree Sleeper cells’ were mentioned in Spider-Man.
@davidmcleod5133
@davidmcleod5133 3 года назад
Yeah, but in the Secret Invasion comic series, it’s explained that the invasion force is made up of a separate sect of religious extremists. With Talos being set up as a “good guy,” he would be the best way to dump exposition on the audience about the motive of these other Skrulls.

Steve was Captain America because he was "a good man", no super strength needed. This series showed us that Sam is also what's needed for a good Captain America.
@akdollface007
@akdollface007 3 года назад
Yes, Sam has had it in him the WHOLE time. That’s why Steve (and Bucky) chose him. This is something that gets missed, I think, in the whole issue of their supposed color blindness. Yes, both Steve and Bucky didn’t fully understand the specific history that Sam grew up with and how that informs his reality, granted. (And it’s definitely a situation that if a person isn’t educated about or if they don’t have those same specifics in their perspectives or experiences, they wouldn’t fully realize or understand. We all have varying perspectives and experiences and how our realities are formed...that does not take away from anyone else to realize that, what that means is there is always something to learn and empathize with each person we meet.) This is the thing that seems to be missed: Steve said and believed that Sam was a great person...great enough to be Captain America, great enough to be everything good that a true hero should be and do. He didn’t choose Sam for anything other than Sam’s excellent character. He didn’t realize the stress it would put on Sam in regard to Sam being a black man - that is the specific perspective that Steve didn’t realize (not an intentional blindspot). But here’s the thing, Steve (“a blue-eyed blond”) picked Sam as the only one good enough to be Captain America. That is honoring Sam for who and what he is. I’m not sure that fact isn’t swept over...Steve wasn’t saying that Sam was anything less, he was saying Sam was the BEST of us. There are some who are prejudiced, yes; however, there are a LOT of people who are not. We may not fully understand each other’s prospectives yet we are willing to learn more about their reality and perspectives. As Captain America said, “WE can do better.”

Her call to Bucky was a typical Boomer vs Zoomer conversation LOL. But your comment shows the power of words. Sam's words usually makes things better. Walker and Karli had a talent for making things worse. Bucky is an entire mood by himself but he is honest.

Interesting that Sharon's part in this season also touches on the theme of legacy - especially in that end scene, she's definitely trading on Peggy's legendary reputation to get back in good with the government

I am pretty sure that Sharon Carter will appear in Armor Wars in some kind of capacity, and I also think White Vision will return in some capacity since the original Vision was created by Tony Stark and theoretically the new one has the memories of the old one.

One other thought on Sharon being a Skrull: in the comics, the Skrull Queen replaced Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), because of her intersectionality with SHIELD, Hydra, and the Avengers. As there is (as of yet) no Spider-Woman in the MCU, who is in the best position to fill that role? Sharon’s ex SHIELD, worked for the CIA, and is buddy-buddy with several Avengers!

Us all at the end of WandaVision: We really shouldn't let theories get ahead of us & out of control. This: You're a Skrull & you're a Skrull.. You are _definitely_ a Skrull. ps - The Power Broker has as many connections as Jessica Drew. 👑 pps - Take a another look at the hug Isaiah gives Sam: Isaiah's watch has green hands = *SKRULL!!* 😁
