@JuergenGDB yea i completely agree the soviets at the battle of stalingrad they were literally throwing troops who havent gone through basic training into combat it was later that the soviets gained the upper hand that they recieved better training the Brititsh always had elite troops which every military does some more than others but the germans had one of the most elite paratroopers no lie but they let nuts like hitler decide every move the army made therefore leading to their downfall

Known as the "shaped-charge" in the US,the discovery of its effect was made by a man named Munroe (I believe he was a railroad engineer).The H.E.A.T. anti-armor weapon uses this power today. It also is used in creating implosion in nuclear weapons (Fat Man) used at Nagasaki. The terrorist in Iraq also use it in I.E.D.'s.

@P51F86F4F15F22 Actually I would pretty much consider most of the German Heer as Elite vs the traininig everyone esle was getting at the time war broke out. Paratroopers, Gebrigs Corp, waffen SS were Elite, tip of a very powerful Spear. Only the British, UK, Australian, N.Zealand, Russian (Much later sort of) got good training. Paratroopers always recieving more. US Marine Corps! Uh Raah! Allthough I would consider the Soviet troops more brave then well trained.

they obviously thought their armament was strong enough and and plus they figured the germans would be moving in columns of lightly armored vehicles and horses with a few tanks along the way but they never thought about the newly founded paratroopers and dive bombers

"hollow charge" or "Hohlladung" is the name you´re looking for. regards

this was early ww2 no armor would be able to stand up to the guns up to this point

the germans also had money a resources for that they were an empire then for the paratroopers the regular infantry would have been outclassed because the german paratroopers were one of the elite elements of germany(besides the SS)

7:20 Hollandewaffen?!? Sometimes I ask myself if english people trying to pronunciate german words really believe that their way of doing so is correct... The correct word would be "Hohlladungswaffe" - now compare that to what he says.

Not so much better than the one in Brest, which was defended for one and a half month. Oh, those Belgians!
@kubanskiloewe

difference was; Eben Emael was important for german troops to advance into France ! Therefore the planning and training and planning for minutes was near perfect. Brest was´nt....the troops advanced anyway ;-)
