We're actually bigger now than ever. The "controversy" that we were involved in has been resolved for long time. A lot of what you mentioned also is not quite correct. You are allowed to use mods according to the licenses they're released under (You do not need a "commercial license"). Our usage in the past and present abided by this mostly, aside from a few issues which we had resolved. Nonetheless, Lunar as well as their partners are incentivized to portray a certain narrative to defame us and limit competition. Ironically, THEY had more egregious violations than us, such as when THEY broke ReplayMod's license three times! We had never been legally compelled to remove ReplayMod, while Lunar has. In all, while we've made mistakes in the past, they're certainly not unique to us so take what you hear with a grain of salt. Competition always has their agenda, and we're always trying to improve.

I never expected this project to get closely as much hype as it did. It has always been a passion project and will continue to be one. Although i‘m only one developer, I try to update the client consistently. As for FPS boost, I am planning on adding it. You mentioned that this wouldn‘t be possible due to it being a forge mod, not sure why that would be. To call it a slightly modified version of forge wouldn‘t be correct, since it‘s a forge mod and not a fork of minecraftforge and at least I think it, provides all the basic mods a pvp client should have, but to each their own. A launcher has started development, which would allow for automatic updates and would improve the user experience overall. Either way the client is constantly improving and is currently also being recoded, which would drastically improve performance, design and will make it less clunky with improved animations. All things aside, good video nonetheless.

@@simoncesnek6727 yeah I’m not a big 1.19 guy but I’ve heard feather client is popular in that pvp area. But what I’m saying is it could’ve been even more popular and even big in 1.8.9 style pvp as well
well personally i use quilt with performance mods so i dont use lunar and also better performance may not aply to everyone but to me it gives better performance that way also custom mods
I am a Labymod user, I have tried Lunar, Badlion, and Feather: Feather turned out to have a great FPS Boost, but unfortunately for all those clients, I didn't like the GUIs and the flight mechanics in Creative and Spectator Mode. I really don't know why Lunar and Badlion are so overrated. (imo)
You should do a similar style video on cheatbreaker, and all of its revival versions. There have been a few that have been in the communitry for a while now but they have got little recognition so it will be cool to see how they are doing.
feather client is a great client it has mods lunar dont have + you can add you’re own mods its mostly better for 1.19 but the client didn’t fail there’s like a update that gives 3 mods like every week
For me, when playing in 1.8 communities & servers, feather client is nothing compared to lunar. But in 1.19 survival OR PVP servers, feather client is quite convenient & popular despite the controversy. First thing is that the controversy is resolved a long time ago, just like the Feather Client's official comment. Second is while you don't need other mods for 1.8 pvp and minigames, you will need some for 1.19 survival to make a better experience. For example, you wanna test out some builds in your singleplayer server, you have worldedit. You wanna copy the schematic to your survival server, you got litematica. You wanna install replay mod, go right ahead even its not in the catalogue. You wanna make dynamic maps, xaero's minimap & worldmap. You wanna add a health indicator, you can. Heck, you can even host your server on your own local computer. It just has a greater advantage for newer versions of Minecraft, no building cache, fast loading time, & more. For older versions, the only reason you would use lunar is theres no advantage for feather on 1.8, and lunar has more cosmetics for those who got money. Anyways, great explaination, you gained a new sub. The one thing I really hoped is that clients should evolve like feather, adding more experimental features such as voice chat and server hosting instead of the plain old traditional ones.
There is one key reason I don’t use a client, I have much less customisation with lunar and my game runs horrifically with lunar. That’s why I just use the Essentials mod for fabric through the Default MC launcher, and I use a ton of sodium mods

feather client is pretty popular here in the 1.19 pvp community. not really sure why but after trying it out for a bit i probably like it more then the other clients. but ofc its all just personal preference xD

Man, I really wish some Minecraft Clients are 32Bit except for Lunar Client which it supports 32Bit. Others are not supported, I really want Feather Client and Badlion has 32Bit Supported.
I think that feather still hold a huge place in clients i personally use it because it both has latest version of minecraft with fabric and 1.8.9 version with forge. So i can you simply change between my hyipxel skyblock stuff to crystal pvp ing so that is a huge win for me.
As a player that changes clients to time to time I will admit that every little detail in this vid was absolutely amazing and yea another thing is that people are starting too use more mods on vanilla Minecraft then clients so in my opinion they should upgrade some mods or do something never done before that goes great for 1.19 and 1.8.9 pvp if any client or any mod can make your gameplay improve or be smoother and have a massive gos boost then I would say that is the 1# client or mod
while feather client says that it is bigger then ever, that's because only less then a year ago it was brand new, it can only grow. clients as a whole are declining
u've tried 1.8 on feather and gain more fps but compare ur lunar fps on 1.19 with feather fps on 1.19 u'll see the difference, for many low end pcs/laptops it's really hard to get fps that's acutally playable, for example on lunar i i couldn't even run mc with over 90 whereas on feather i can do the same but with shaders on which just clearly shows that feather client is insane in 1.19, idk about 1.8 because i use lunar for 1.8 but feather is really good.
Cheatbreaker was my favorite client ever, partly because it was the only client like it at the time. But even to this day, if Cheatbreaker was still a client it would be my main. (I'm aware of the offline version and use it, just not as much as lunar) I miss the good old days of using cheatbreaker V1 it was amazing.
If I had to make a client, I'd just tell everyone "Hey I'm making a small client that's supposed to help optimize shaders and uses some cosmetic mods to make minecraft look better. For those who want a purely cosmetic change to Minecraft, you can come to this client. If not, that's okay it's not for profit."
Feather may have a smaller target group because I feel like it's really good for people who play skyblock and competitive Hypixel game modes but I mainly play skyblock and feather is really good with its performance boosts and being able to use your own mods
Very well made video. Personally, I use Lunar Client because I get the most fps and it has mods that I use. You earn yourself a sub, hopefully you can get to 10k soon!
Ok my bad for being super late, but Lunar Client actually isn't so good for me bc every time I open OBS and try to record Lunar Client my mouse cursor just completely disappears in game. I don't know if this is some kind of setting I have wrong or everyone goes through this, so I mainly use Badlion these days

feather client is at its peak rn. its clearly better than other clients especially for newer versions of minecraft as it supports sodium and iris. As well as on hypixel skyblock where you need mods and the badlion and lunar ones are so much worse than adding yours. Feather client is honestly what me and a lot of others were wishing for from the moment they started playing on hypixel. Cosmetics are also not a problem since you can add your own with mods... and for free
I especially use feather for SMP in newer version and Skyblock, a reason for that is Custom mods like sodium and Iris or Skyblock mods, with these mods I easily get a lot more fps as in Badlion or Lunar. And yes I have Badlion cosmetics but the client runs so bad in newer versions that I switch to Feather
