Early MCU scores did have more personality and individuality. Then in recent years, particularly Phase 4 2021 - 2022 they seem forgettable and rubbish.
0:00 Main Title 2:50 Victor’s Theme 4:13 The Doom March 5:39 We Are The Fantastic Four 7:05 Doom The Destroyer 8:22 Clobberin’ Time/Johnny Saves New York 10:47 End Title
There’s a couple of tracks this video hasn’t added yet. The Thing’s theme, the music where the Fantastic Four gains and discovers their powers, the scene where Reed and Ben mourn Victor’s supposed death, The Jeweller’s theme and Doom’s henchman’s theme.
This soundtrack was so great, I actually cried. To me, it's up there with the likes of John Williams (Superman Theme Song, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Indiana Jones.) and classic Disney movies. This also gives me vibes of Fleischer's Superman cartoons. Clobberin' Time resembles the TIE Fighter sequence from Star Wars Episode 4.
Every time there was a Thing action sequence, I immediately flashed to Luke and Han shooting TIEs in Episode IV. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who thought about that.
I watched the movie tonight and was surprised at how full and wonderful the score was. in fact, for a movie that was never destined to be released, the movie was very well done with a wonderful charm to it. Thank you for posting this.
The violin pieces need to be used in the MCU whenever Doom is shown at his weakest point or having moments to himself as a reminder of how he is lost deep down inside.
Who thinks when Marvel finally produces their own MCU Fantastic Four film, they should incorporate elements of these tracks into the score? Similar to how they hinted at the 90s X-men theme in Dr Strange 2? Or better get David and Eric Wurst to compose the score!
90s xmen theme was overrated, they shouldve used the michael kamen xmen title card of the first one. but yeah, they definitely should. also bring back joseph culp as doom.
@Wally#01 - I saw almost all of the cast at a comic book show in Ft. Lauderdale, FL back in '93. If they were giving away these CDs, I would have snagged one! But alas, no. I did get the 'official' autographed F.F. photo. I saw this CD on eBay last year (?) for $250! Eeeeouch! Kinda regret not selling a kidney for it now though. So glad somebody uploaded this.😃😎
Richard Donner said, upon first hearing John Williams score, he heard the music *say* (in 3 notes) "Su-per Man!" as the title appeared on screen. Listen to 0:28. Five notes. "The Fan-tas-tic Four!!" It can't be a coincidence. Even the "4" logo flying through space towards the screen, a-la Superman '78.
