what absolutely kills me abt this entire bit is zac. he is literally the one who kickstarted the whole thing by being the first to make the perception check and was the first to give ally the thumbs up to interact with the vulture instead of helping the others. ally may be a weapon of chaos but zac is the one to load the gun and cock it
The best part for me was literally right after when they previewed the next episode with absolutely no sign of anything to do with the vulture dimension.
@joshtenney4143 RIGHT!? That makes me think it's such an in-depth bit that just gets ditched immediately. Which, to me is exponentially funnier than an entire episode dedicated to the vulture dimension.
they’re such a chaotically balanced duo because ally is balls to the wall and out of left field while zac is so subtle and simplistic with their approaches to comedy and they balance each other out and sometimes even spur each other on.
also because this entire season, ally’s “i have a new puppy, and i keep going HEY, GIRLIE at her”, to the point that its both a running gag and also a chekov’s gun. brennan definitely made that vulture interaction expecting ally to go “hey girlie”. astounding move, i dare say!!
Lou and Zac being absolutely devastated. The initial perception of 'the bit' saving the party in an unceremonious ass-pull, turned absolutely prepared for, and even perfectly orchestrated in every subtlety. Chef's kiss, absolutely the most degenerate-glorious plot development in Dimension 20 history.
I love how brennan truly still tries his best to stop them from interacting with the vulture XD Continuously saying how many of them are down and how close to death grix was. And yet he was also so confident the intrepid heroes would commit to the bit that he had a set made XD
I feel like between the vulture dimension, and the special agent hunting Fig, Brennan was definitely in a "Nope. Not this season guys. This season I am READY to counter your hijinx." kind of mode.
Yet another bit that Zac technically started that has spiraled into real world cosmic horrors. First the Night Yorb, now the Vulture Dimension. What can’t that man do by accident
"What did you call me?" As the music kicks in and you see the feathers start to swirl around. Perfection That and Lous look of pure bewilderment at the circus act unfolding before him
It was 6 in the morning when I witnessed this singularity of unhinged chaos and had to summon every ounce of sheer will in my body to not scream out into a fit of cackling laughter.
OK every time he said a totally normal vulture I KNEW something was going to happen. I KNEW something was going to happen and I was still absolutely BAMBOOZLED by the vulture dimension.
In your defense, did any viewer organically go from guessing "something is suspicious about Brennan lampshading this vulture i think something is going to happen" all the way to "YOUUUU ARE ENTERING THE VULTURE DIMENSION!"
I know the thumbs up from everyone was to affirm the vulture decision, but i just imagined in game them giving a thumbs up for Kristen to help them or something. But then Kristen turns away from everyone to give BREAD to a famously carnivorous bird.
I've been trying to pin down what I find so hilarious about this moment. I think it's the fact that there's an insane graphic, which means this had to be planned for in advance, which means Brennan has been keeping this bullet in the chamber and deliberately putting vultures on the battle maps knowing full well someone will take the bait eventually.
The music fits so well to this scene. The quite, somber, all hope is lost immediately flipping to Metal, capped by Brennan's Metal scream of "YOU ARE ENTERING THE VULTURE DIMENSIOOOOOOON" perfect editing XD
Lou just sitting there stunned...silent as he watches this unfold. like, they're gonna die and he's not even fully engaged in what's happening. and then the dome changes and the vulture is screeching at Kristen, lmao it's insane
I started watching this having only ten minutes left of the recent episode. I decided to finish it instead of just watching this incase I missed something good, boy I’m I glad did
I think my favourite parts of the Vulture Dimension Reveal are 1. Ally's ``what?`` and 2. The sheer, just,, maniacal joy on Brennan's face as he yells as the vulture. Not on the vulture's expression. Brennan's expression specifically
Lou almost judgmentally dissociating from this reveal. The look of... disdain??? On his face???? When this happens is the funniest thing I've ever seen. It looks like he's honestly mad that this bit is being thrown a bone at all.
As a dm if I did this in my home game I would be assured of making it up on the spot. This man had the damn dome animation, text appearance, sound change, and had an additional map production for it 🤣
brennan is truly on another level for this, because kristen was actually rolling to see if the vulture had any answers specifically in that first instance and brennan found a way to bring it back in an incredible way and even tie it in to her character’s motivations. i’m excited to see if this is gonna be a “you didn’t learn the first time and this time there’s consequences” or if this is gonna be more of a gift for engaging and making fun narrative choices and how that’s relevant to doubt and risk taking. also what was even gonna happen if kristen HAD learnt her lesson, like how was the rest of this going to go? i love this goddamn show and cast.
So when I watched this episode for the first time, it was 11pm on a night where I definitely should have been in bed. Instead I was wildly cackling and almost woke up my whole house. I’ve been a vulture fan since day one and I’m so glad it gets its vengeance finally😂
The level of planning kills me, they knew someone would callback to the vulture and planned a battle in another newly revealed dimension?!? Who pitched this? Did they get a raise? I hope so
