After the red combine fire, Dad and I bought a 2019 S780 John Deere combine.. the first Deere combine on the farm since his 7720 in the '80s. Now watch us struggle all fall trying to figure out how to run it.

One of the add on's we added to ours is lankota cross auger shut off by a foot switch on floor I'm extremely happy with.

Just one tiny correction: DEF isn't about the environment; it's about removing the nitrogen oxides that are harmful to humans. However, during the daytime on the field, with no humans whose health we care about around, those nitrogen oxides mostly break down into fertiliser.

Make sure the guards are good and sharp. Dont overgrease the combine bearings. 400 hrs means 400hrs. I prefer a hand gun. Or ull blow seals out

Yea I think the grease charts are pretty good on the machine. Only one 50 I heard should be a 25.. other than that it’s really a pretty simple maintenance!

@@salisburyfarmsdid u figure the ipad out? U can add yieldsense pretty easy i think they have a plate u can remove on all 700 series but if it has the active yield just use that.

We’ve got a guy wanting to come out and put it all on, we just haven’t stopped to take the time yet. After running it awhile now it’s definitely something we’d like to have put on!

@@salisburyfarmsthe precision chain is known for cracking the divider plate at the bottom of clean grain elevator. Im not a fan. But it is easy to use and calibrate. fieldview drive and ipad you can get in easily and is a nice add on

Well that’s good to know.. we are going to have the chain and all put in. Maybe I’ll ask about that. But yea fieldview is what we run and like. Maps with our planter with the 20/20 as well. Just easy to use, read and can take it anywhere with us.

The guys at Prairie State had an amazing deal made for us within a couple hours for a John Deere! We looked at more red but they unfortunately couldn’t get us pricing for a few days. Didn’t want to waste great bean cutting days so we bought the Deere!
