Wow i just discovered this today from watching modern marvels. They were showing off the lunacer monofin and that had a pivoting joint but these hard rubber huge surface area ones look so much more efficient. You get that flexion in the fin without the clunky range of the pivot!! Im not an expert tho like i said i just discovered this 5 minutes ago!! This is so cool to me!!!

I also want to buy swimming monofins but it's very expensive for me.... so nowda days i attached my regular fins to each other and use as monofins

It's similar in many aspects but not the same. Many swimmers try fimswimming as well, but only a few succeed on the top level

Technic is different; also it's an apnoe sport. Breathing is part of swimming too but it's another level in fin swimming.

They'd have to get used to using the fin, I'm sure there would be some learning curve there but I do agree

True and not a true, classic swimmers excel at bifins, but monofin is its own league, mechanisms of the movement and usege of different muscule groups is the main issue for classic swimmers. Yes, some did learn how to swim with it, but the elites of Finswimming almost always did this sport from young age.

@@NRClips3414 It’s not a new sport it was started in 50´s in Russia a now we have around 100 countries competing. Could tell you a lot more, if we can find a way to call through some app. Just in summary monofin fast af, but blackouts happen a lot, because exhaustion.
