I was scared as well at first! But I tried calling people and hanging up after like two minutes and it really helped ahaha especially at first, it’s just to get used to the style and when you find nice people everything gets easier 😭 hope you will give it a try!
I agree! I was just like you because I was not confident in my language skills, until I realized that if you’re confident you don’t really feel like practicing so it’s always people who wants to get better that are in these apps and it released a lot of stress! Just know that everyone is learning and talking to many people who were insecure about their words or grammar was a way to just laugh and enjoy the moment. Hope this helps, and don’t give up on your language learning journey!! I’m a language major and I LOVED going at Uni to learn something I was actually passionate about 💖
I'm glad it helps! Another thing that I learned and made me feel less anxiety was not forcing myself to like a way to study. Try everthing for a bit so you can really understand if it's for you, but don't feel like you have to like a studying method just because it's popular or it works for some people. keep it up and have fun learning!! @@mimoya07
lovely video, lovely conversations starter, i’m used to freaking out when it comes to calling and having a conversation that sticks with people. i alaways think which topic the people should be interested in when you make a call. do you have some recommendations? by any chance . thank you again
That’s why I liked this app! If you put your interests you will be matched with people who share your choices so it’s already a good conversation starter! In my experience travel is always good because people like to talk about their trips, they’re usually good memories so it can set a good mood for the rest of the conversation :) if they have pets you can ask something like “I see you like dogs, do you have a dog?” And from there I think you just get exctied about common things and the conversation can go smoother! Hope it helps and thank you for your support!
I really want to try it but I’m a bit nervous abt it cuz u know there’s so many bad people round the world that’s why I don’t want to but also i want to talk with korean to find out how good my korean is😭
totally felt the same and this is the reason why I only interacted with girls lol the guy were kind of weird and especially when it was my first time trying out the app, I didn't feel comfortable. I just wanted to practice my korean so I pushed through and selected the option girls only so I could feel more relaxed to speak! My suggestion would be have a couple of questions ready to start a conversation, food and travels are always something people enjoy talking about :) If you feel like a conversation is too much for your at the beginning, try connecting via text first just to see the vibe and then you can engage in a call. I think actually speaking is CRUCIAL to really improve because your brain is practicing in-context, but this doesn't mean it has to feel like a torcher to you, test things out and try to find your balance :) Hope this helps and keep going!! Language study is a beautiful way to connect with people and learn something new
Thanks to ur help and support i already tried it cause i said why can’t i?I just started to texting first it was so nice cause they were so respectful especially when I said I’m about to improve my korean skills but I haven’t tried the call yet and as how as you said I’m gonna talk with the girls , it’s way more better cause some of the guys are just weird and awkward but i think you need to have balloons to choose what gender you want to talk to..
Thank you Milu! It was fun and my Korean is not that good 💀 I just found wholesome people that made the language barrier not an issue and could have lovely conversations with 😭
Hello I am learning Korean language.... And I want to make some Korean friends online it helps me tto learn about cultur and it improves my language... You know how can I ???????
There is an option where you can choose to talk only with girls or boys. Tbh I tried not to filter that but after a couple of questionable interactions with boys I just went for girls. Maybe try chatting first so people can understand your intentions !
I don’t know any other app like this where you can talk but you can try switching your country in the App Store / play store and then switching it back to normal after you download it 👀
Not at all! Most Koreans would try to learn English as well. Also you can try the chat option first to see if it can work for you before going in with the calls :)
people really talk there! Sometimes it's a hit or miss but so far it is the app with the most well made filter for "scammers" or people who are not really interested in language exchange. Besides a couple of people I hung up to (lol) I only got nice people living abroad and wanting to practice. You can also chat so maybe you can try this first to test the waters before giving a call!
@@alvinthecool16 I didn’t know about that! I never speak English on the app because I want to practice e Korean and Japanese so maybe it’s also that? Since it’s a free app I think it’s worth a try
@@alvinthecool16 I don't know if you can call them friends but I do have people I tend to chat and talk to more. Most of the times I do random tho because it's less pressure for me
No clue sorry! most of the apps I know are not focused on speaking but there might be some websites or on tiktok some language live session can be something close to that, just not interactive
I agree! I love the text option because sometimes I don’t feel like talking to people because it’s too much pressure but I want text, so it’s still helpful 💕
